You should have applied mastic the open fiberglass edge of that duct board that you cut. It’s unhealthy to breathe glass fibers, And that’s the whole point of this is to help with indoor air quality is much as overall energy efficiency that should be a consideration. Also any modification to a duct system should be done by someone who intrinsically understands what that is going to do to the rest of the system. When you change one thing you change everything. Edit: also screws are unlikely to hold that to the duct board, thank God you’re strapped it that’ll help. Most duckboard attachments are done with a tab system that compresses the duckboard between the two sides of the collar because you’re basically screwing into something soft as a sponge.

In this case there was an HVAC drain line close by that was used to drain the Dehumidifier to the exterior of the crawl.

did they say they where installing a sub pump? why didn't they drain the dehumidifier to it?
If your spending all this to seal a crawspace why would you not spend a little more on some drain tiles and a pump.

Is the air inducer used in conjunction with a dehumidifier or instead of?

In addition to, I assume it’s to help warm the air so that it can hold the humidity that the Dehumidifier was taking out. Plus a D hue is really just an air conditioner so it will make the air colder in there for less likely to hold humidity when you’re trying to extract it it’s not good for the purpose.

You always need the dehumidifier. the supply air is added to make up for the air used by the existing HVAC equipment in the crawl space. You will also need to exhaust a small amount of the air to the outside (this helps with the negative effect as well as moving the earth gases outside)

How do you install an air inducer on a flex line?

Thanks so much for your question! We have not found a reliable solution for installing an air inducer on a flex line. The air inducer needs to be installed on a hard, metal surface. If it is all flexible pipe, the only way is to install a metal junction box your pipe can attach to. Hope that helps!
