The World’s WORST Airport? | Heraklion Airport Review

- After seeing many bad videos on Heraklion airport, I decided to see if these “speculations and experiences” were true!
Obviously I understand people will have many different experiences, however on my flight home from Heraklion to East Midlands with TUI, it could have not gone any better!
I found the check in for today’s flight extremely easy and smooth only taking 5 minutes!
Followed by a confusing task trying to locate security? This was extremely busy and the airport was rammed with people. With the scolding 30 degrees temperatures outside, the inside of the airport was nice and cool! After finally queuing and locating security it only took us around 10-15 minutes to get through to the duty free section. Duty free had everything you needed and was your standard airport prices! After duty free we followed directions to boarder control and that only took 5 minutes. Finally it was time to head to our gate, unfortunately our gate was very busy before we arrived so we were limited to seating! Our gate opened early and we boarded via bus very quickly looking for an early departure however this escalated to us leaving 45 minutes after boarding the aircraft however we was still on time!
Overall I don’t understand why Heraklion airport gets such a bad name and I honestly rate the airport a 4/5 stars! I also found the airport very clean and the staff were friendly!

During summer time it is indeed the worst airport.... but as a local resident it's very convenient during winter.... very clean and almost zero flights delays.....
Hope the new airport will open soon
as a local resident there are a number of problems with this airport mostly affecting us as well as tourists, that is why a new airport is being built, this airport is almost 100 years old and is the second busiest airport in greece, it is dirty, noisy, polluting and not sufficient for the number of passengers.

Thank you mate, yes I have, I have made a few in the past however it is just a confidence issue with me doing voiceovers at the moment but I’m looking to introduce them soon!
