Fun fact: those wild fires in Australia at the start of 2020 absolutely destroyed Kangaroo Island, and it took about a year for its wild life and economy to get back to where it was. It still isn't completely the same though because it got hit so hard. Amazing place though!

As much as I love living on Long Island, we are technically not an island. Legally, we are a peninsula according to the Supreme Court. And it’s because of the East River. The East River is a tidal strait, not a river, and it was widened for safe ship passage. Thus because it’s not a natural river, Long Island is not an island.
The US vs Maine case was about who controlled the waters surrounding Long Island and Block Island. If Long Island counted as an island, they’d be controlled by the federal gov rather than the states. And so NY was hoping for Long Island to be counted as a peninsula.
Yeah, I was thinking about that. I think it might be a similar case with Manhattan Island, it's more like a lagoon or a river island but nonetheless still an island.

So Hub Island isn’t by Manhattan but rather it’s a part of the Thousand Islands region, a group of islands that straddle the Canadian border on the Saint Lawrence River between NY and Ontario.
That volcano on Tenerife is called Teide, and it sits upon a crater called Las Cañadas. Which is the remains of an older basalt shield volcano (making it a volcano on a volcano...volcanoception). This is the name of that caldera you’re seeing. Measuring from the ocean floor, it is the third highest volcano and has been labeled a Decade Volcano. Decade Volcanoes are active volcanoes we have to keep an eye on because of their proximity to densely populated areas and thus their eruptions could threaten hundreds of thousands of people. My great grandma is from the Canary Islands so I love when people mention them

Fun fact about Tahiti:
Captain William Bligh (later Governor of Australia) was ditched by his crew near Tahiti in 1789. They didn't want to leave the island, so they took control of the Bounty (the ship), and sailed it right back. Bligh, on the other hand, sailed for thousands of kilometres in a tiny little wooden boat.

(Plus reaction content is just another form of content (as long as it’s transformative). Just like gaming content or video essays. It doesn’t mean someone’s running out of ideas, since if you look in the comment section he has access to plenty (and he probably has some ideas himself too)
