COMPARING IT TO BAMBOO AND I HAVE BOTH. ALOT OF THE DIFFERENCE CAN BE IN THE BOYERS LIMB DESIGN. CARBON IS VERY SMOOTH AND FAST. BAMBOO ALSO VERY SMOOTH AND FAST. ONE OF MY FAVORITE LIBS IS CARBON BACKED BAMBOO BY DAS. THREE RIVERS SOLD THE LIMBS TO ME AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE FEEL AND SPEED.
Carbon fiber might have a very high strength/weight ratio, but delaminates easily between layers. I used to use a scrap cutoff from an F22 part as a sanding block, simply changing the self adhesive sandpaper on it could pull layers apart if I wasn't careful. One of my colleagues learned to stitch all the layers together before resin infusion
I HAVE TWO SETS OF HOYT CARBON QUATROS, ONE ON THE HOYT BUFFELO AND THE OTHER ON A ILF 56" RECURVE. THOSE ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST AND EQUAL TO DAS LIMBS. DEPENDS AGAIN, ON THE LIMB MAKER BUT I DO BELIEVE MY CARBON LIMBS ARE AS FAST AS THE 10LBS HEAVIER OF THE PAST.
Not hard to find out. Shoot it through a chronograph and post a video of. If you really want to be accurate, use a release. That’s what I should have done (I have a video comparing limb types). Or at least use a clicker.
I build a carbon fiber bow 2 years ago but the bowyer supply store sold to 3rivers and I cant find the carbon strips any where and I remember seen your video so would it be possible you can guide me to your supplier!I will like to build another one! Thanks Looking forward to your reply!
I’ve used this as my primary bow for a year now. I’m always pretty hard on my equipment. It’s all scratched and dinged up. I slipped on wet rock in the mountains of Colorado. I left it on the roof of my car after Whitetail hunting in Illinois and it ended up bouncing down the ashphalt. I’ve crawled through many thorn bushes and shot maybe a thousand arrows through it. It’s held up perfectly and still shoots as good as new.
This is not a recurve bow, is a laminated longbow. Its possible the tips are very curved but still being a longbow, a reflex deflex longbow or hibrid longbow

Got a Korean horseback re-curve carbon and love it, my friends think its a joke or a toy. As long as you dont twist it. No worrying about it.

That bow is very good looking! Does it shoot well?
How much would you charge for carbon over bamboo, with any kind of riser wood. 40 lbs at 27 inchs?
how did you make it, do you have a video on making it?

Can you tell which foam did you use in this bow? I mean foam type, manufacturer and maybe where did you buy it?
Could you please give us an update on this bow, such as it's reliability and performance. Thank you!
