Wow young man that was an amazing video. I actually watched it twice just to make sure I didn't miss any information and I'm glad I did. What a tragic story. Wonderful job sir
My family has lived(and still lives) in Johnstown for generations. My great great grandfather was born the day of the flood. The story is that his mother was pushed on a floating matress while in labor to safety. He was named Flood Rhodes.
I moved here from Washington County, I have folks I consider family here that took me in years ago and that was part of the draw. That and the history and how rural it is and beautiful and how cheap everything, even property is here and how much there is to do. I live one town over from this flood site. I visit every so often.
I hadn't heard of the Johnstown flood until I read that back in the day, one of the attractions of Coney Island in Brooklyn was a 3 min long reenactment of the flood using a model of the town in a small theater. I thought it was a weird attraction. It was likely in between a bearded lady 5 a sword swallower. Then I read the McCullough book and realized how horrific and exploitative it was. I am shocked anyone considered that as entertainment.
My third video watched on the flood and by far the best. Nice job.

Excellent reporting my wife's family us from out that way. I remember the family elders recounting stories of the flood in the '90s
Awesome video - thank you for making the layout so clear!
I've been fascinated by that flood ever since my family told me about it and the 77 flood they survived. And the railroad history is nice too.
Excellent then-and-now. Thank you for your efforts!
