Rory has applied himself physically as good as any professional golfer in the history of game and there is little wonder he continues to be one of the very best in the key tee-to-green stats that are aided by this. Even as he approaches his mid-30s, he's getting longer than ever.
Guys stop hating on the guy he’s won 3 majors and looks better than all of you I don’t think he rlly needs more power he’s just ambitious enough to want it and that is not a bad thing that’s why I’m in the gym too he’s inspirational to me and every other 5’9 golfer looking for more power I’m also 17 so I just need a more Rory like swing in general to hit the ball further
List of exercises from video. Correct me if I missed or incorrectly named certain exercise. - Dumbell pushups on inclined seat - lunges (you can add weights to it) - single arm dumbell row with tiny forward push/swing - dumbbell curls - triceps dumbell exercise on elevated seat - jump squats - deadlift - squats (add weights) - hydrate (very important exercise)
Great content, very interesting to see different golfers and how their strength programs differ from one another! Would like to know more detail about their periodization programs over the year.
Shame, I think there’s a reason why tiger was so far ahead during his time. Strength training and joint/ tissue stimulation will allow much more longevity
The old orthodoxy indicated that weight training affected swing mechanics on the course, worsening consistency and feel. Is that no longer considered the case?
It definitely does if you're a beginner lifter, happened to me when I was playing golf in high school. After a few months you start to adapt to the weight lifting and your golf swing will benefit from it in the long run (if performed properly)
His routine seems good to me.... High reps and low weights are a good combination... * To all you golfers reading this.... I wouldn't suggest doing legs day before playing a round of golf..
He has different workout for different time of year, like if he is travelling for tourneys then he has a consistent workout routine, but when he is in a break, he tries to improve.
Rory does do workouts before his round to fire up the leg muscles etc that will help him in his swing, I've heard him say this in interviews before. It's almost certain that he's not trying to break personal records when it comes to weight that he's lifting in pre-round workouts - he has said that he leaves that sort of stuff for the off-season.
I'd like to see Rory put on some gloves and step into a ring, I think he would do well, punching power of some of these golfers would be up there with the best, they may brake there wrist tho
All these vain gym freaks in golf.. Look at my muscles in my extra tight polo!! It's all a bit cringing!! The gym affected tiger.. Brooks bryson.. Even faldo back in the day! It's a combination of flexibility controlled power and most of all technique!! And obviously a good golfing brain!!
@@ryangreen7188 i don't mind ur opinion that I u don't think I know what I'm talking about.. But if you can't actually back it up with anything logical... Er.. Then I'm guessing you not too sure what ur talking about yourself 🤔..have a good think about it and get back to me 👍
I can’t see this being good for his game in the long run. Personally this ruined my game and caused injuries. Hope I’m wrong but it’s a slippery slope when you start thinking lifting weights makes you a better athlete. Need to be so careful and he already looks too built up imo. 1 injury, some time laid off and the range of motion is going to suffer. This was my problem, muscles were super strong but the joints are all that matter
Training with high reps and low weights should increase strength, flexibility and muscle conditioning... If you had an injury then I'd say your form was wrong or you were pushing your program too much.. Rest, muscle recovery and diet are just as essential to weight training...
Don't deadlift in running shoes, use a split grip with hands shoulder width (which is just outside knees for conventional), drive out heels. I prefer to do 3 rep sets. Just 3x3 is all you need but use enough weight you have to think about running through a brick wall to save your kids from a burning building. 😅 For real though it works.
Good to see his focus is on compound moves.

Great! Too bad you can’t lift weights to improve putting!!
@@johnbrodnik839 technically you can. Resistance training Increases stability and motor control which are essential to good putting.
I’d like to know his full gym program like number of sets and repetitions

Very good form!
Great Rory the BEST
What a stud!
So all I have to do is this for 2 minutes and 50 seconds a day and I’ll look like Rory? Beauty
This should make you taller!
Thx dude got a 30 abs now.
Diddy was also on a dp world tour
yeah would be interesting to know his split of workouts? Is this a whole body workout that he does 3 times a week?
I think it could be
I love that a lot of golfers are athletes now.
And Alcoholics!!
Jus used my clubs for the first time Aug 14 and i probably swung at least 200 balls and my arms on fire lol , i need golf workouts
Did you hit a straight one??
Great Stuff Rory!
Romanian deadlifts with 30kg barbell is about the only thing Rory does that I can also do 🤣
1. chest press
2. lunge with weight
3. whatever this is 0:34
4. curl up
5. 1:05
6. jump squats
7. some stretching
8. squat lifts w weights
Looks like a full body maintenance workout, he's clearly not trying to gain mass with a workout like this
Why would a professional golfer try to gain mass? There’s a reason why you dont see a bunch of bulky bodybuilder types on the PGA tour.
Yeah he’s taking it lightly because he’s in a tournament, wouldn’t want to be fatigued
Shame, I think there’s a reason why tiger was so far ahead during his time. Strength training and joint/ tissue stimulation will allow much more longevity
@@timmyboy2495 there's guys like John ram that are pretty big. he builds muscle in the off-season and tries to maintain it in season
@@timmyboy2495 Koepka and Dechambeau are the minority exception in such category lol
yo this guy is BUFF
im now 100% convinced that rory gets all his extra power from his mcassy x newton's 3rd
Im guessing he is taking it light during a tournament.
For sure. Looking at his legs, he can absolutely squat more than like 95 pounds lol
over 115k people going to try mimic his workout just to try and get a glimpse of his swing
So cool ...
very surprised to see no rotational movements.
I doubt that’s his full workout for a normal day. If it is, he’s definitely doing splits where there’s a different focus per workout.
The old orthodoxy indicated that weight training affected swing mechanics on the course, worsening consistency and feel. Is that no longer considered the case?
I think Tiger disproved that theory..
He’s doing light weights, Really don’t think doing 95 lbs squats will affect his game

No kidding… genius
FULL gym workout
2:52 minute video
we thought we'd save you the rests between sets because we all want to see that 😉
You know, Rory doesn’t only swing fast, he also gym fast
dumb comment
@@Spotofgardening yay!
Yous are at it 🤣
rozza got cake ayy
It’s not all about going to the range and smashing balls, hoping the next one won’t slice. Amateurs, it might be time to wake up.
Doesn’t look like the desert classic, looks like the gym at Yas to me!
He's working out for less than 3 Minutes??
They need to learn to rack the weights when they're done using them!
When I last properly watched Golf Rory didnt want to be a golfer and just wanted to be a fitness man with a clothing line. Is this still the case?
I'd like to see Rory put on some gloves and step into a ring, I think he would do well, punching power of some of these golfers would be up there with the best, they may brake there wrist tho
So much muscles to hit balls in the water..
Need a little bit more iron! Light weight, babeeeee
He needs to work on exercising his bottle…..got pretty good at choking since 2014.
400
Even your shittest video is still 10 times better than the pga tour uploads!! No way rory be squatting baby weight like that 😉
this is a vanity workout at best, nothing earth shattering here.
^^^clueless
Hmm, lots of bodybuilding style training....
He'd be better advised to work on his short irons.

He's a golf champion, not a bodybuilder...
Weird form on the dead lift or whatever that was . Looked bad for the back
its good to get the shoulders and top back going. (Dont use too much weight)
It's a Romanian deadlift
