in indonesia and thailand this car is very popular among tuners because the engine tunability, so most perfomance mods for the fortuner are made in indo and thailand, so i think the next mod for this fortuner should be increasing the engine power
just one thing i hate not having in the fortuner, is a heated aircon. it's needed when we're in the mountains, to eliminate water vapor condensed at the wind shield & windows. also usefull when u're cold.
Decent review mate, i own a 22 GXL fortuner. The updated 1GD goes hard whilst being easy on fuel. A capable and good value family touring 4x4. Starting to see more of them on the road these days. These have been the no1 selling ute based suv in Thailand and Philippines for over a decade now
I have a 2015 fortuner the Gen before this, it has a powerful 4 litre v6 and it's basically a sleeper. And a monster off-road without a single mod done to it, it's a full time 4x4 with 4hl 4h(high) and 4l(low) an unbelievable machine
I used to own a Forunner as well, it was Hilux based just as the Fortuner is now, Fortuner is simply a continuation of Forunner, I reckon I'd give one a go over a Prado if I could bring myself to sell my 80 series.
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. I just tried my crusade on a little off beaten track using the 4H and 4Lo this week to a campsite. You sure can feel the power go through any dirt obstacles with ease as you have demonstrated. Very happy with this car and looking forward to taking it to new adventures with the family. Thanks for the video.
Gorgeous vehicle. Would love to run around in one of those. I used one in Kruger park in south africa, and didn't want to hand it back to the dealer lol
Great video with valuable information, we just bought one and hate the brown interior, great to drive with heaps of power when needed. Need to go off road soon.
thanks Denny, they are a nice smaller sized wagon, you are seeing more of them around and with what you have done to it makes it a very good every day driver and weekend off-roader , i did see that this year it got a little bit more towing capacity to 3100kg that makes it even more practical. shell is very game letting you out with her car 🙂
Hey mate, love the video. I'm about to pick up my new Fortuner in a couple of weeks and can't wait now. Did you need to do any body mount chopping or have you got any scrubbing with that tyre size?
Hey mate, what rear shocks/springs are you running? I currently have Dobinson IMS and find the rear a little to harsh even with the lowest rated king springs. I have been looking for the perfect rear shocks
I chose medium duty coils and the matching Tom shock to suit rear coils, that way its not that hard for her onroad but then I have the airbags when I need it to "work"
Hey mate, love your videos. Got a quick question. I have a 2016 GX, and recently installed EFS 2 inch lift. I am thinking of changing from standard tyres to 32s or bigger than my standard tyres. Is there anything that I need to do before this can happen? Do you recommend 1 inch body lift or anything else? Just getting into 4x4 so still learning. Thanks mate, will be waiting for a reply.
I wouldn't do a body lift, not on that sort of new school vehicle, the tyres on my wife's probably biggest you will get a-legally and b-without major scrubage. Maybe new upper control arms and a really good wheel alignment with a drop diff kit, could push that front diff more forward, give cal-offload a call, speak to Cal or Jackson, tell them Denny from Team Bullet said to chat.. www.caloffroad.com.au
I bought a 2023 fortuner 2.7cc V4 , everything is good except the engine power. Need an advice is it possible to install a V6 engine and change the gear as well on the same vehicle?
Yes, I did enjoy the video because almost every Aussie Car Reviewer has only negative reviews for the Toyota Fortuner especially on-road ride and comfort. I own a 2022 model. I am absolutely happy and find the Fortuner a good value for money.
Thanks, yes good question, so she only ever has it in ECO, and the screen is always high 11s low 12s litres per hundred, doing school runs and city traffic, much better when we take it on freeway though, but rarely sees that.

i own two stock fortuners (a 2017 model) and another (2020 model GRS) and i absolutely love that thing in every single aspect LOVE FROM INDIA
Thanks

Thanks heaps for commenting and sharing that info..
What does "goes hard" mean?
Means it has power. 500nm of torque. Delivered at low revs, peaks from around 1600rpm.@@davconelectric

Nice, yes I think they are awesome....
It is a bit rough but its so much more nimble and accelerates better than a Prado!
Thanks for taking the time to comment..

Congrats, I hear what you saying about the interior..

Hahaha, told her I was taking it to get a wheel alignment that day...But yes, they increased towing, its a nice size unit.
I also own Fortuner, this is the best video about fortuner nowadays
Thanks so much...
turn on the power mode and put the stick at S and shift gear when you want to get more torque by doing this the vehicle is at its full potential
Thanks for the info...
yes very capable vehicle Denny, handled what you put it through very easy
Thanks for commenting Rolly B
Hey video is well done. A lot of effort! Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to comment..
It wont die no matter what
I heard n felt also , factory fitted suspension are so firm can feel each n every rough patch .
Doesn’t it make soft with updated suspension
No I wouldn't say softer, but its different, much better..
Hey mate, love the video. I'm about to pick up my new Fortuner in a couple of weeks and can't wait now.
Did you need to do any body mount chopping or have you got any scrubbing with that tyre size?
No its all good, no cutting whatsoever.
That front bar does look good
Cheers, we very happy with it...
No second stick, relatable 😅
Hahaha.......

On a stock fortuner, think you could fit 275/65 R17s on a 8.5x17 rim with a +25 offset without scrubbing?
Hmmmm I dont think so.. Check out some of the forums though, someone surely has done it..

@@TeamBulletOffroad thanks mate,
Helps me out heaps. Enjoy your Christmas and new years.

Yes you can, but you'll never drive it again
@@sumit_john why?
What shock are you using and the front bumpers thanks
TJM suspension, but its now 5 years old, so theres better "technology" options now... Rhino front bar
Good review.
Glad you enjoyed it

Looks like a nice rig, what real world fuel consumption have you been averaging without towing?
Thanks, yes good question, so she only ever has it in ECO, and the screen is always high 11s low 12s litres per hundred, doing school runs and city traffic, much better when we take it on freeway though, but rarely sees that.
I have a 2022 fortuner, with no mods, can go prety fahr :)
They are awesome..
What are the specifications of those wheels?
I think in this otherwise you might have to watch a few more in our library studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoow0VoXMRHKA/edit
Can you put 16x8s on the 2022 crusades ?
Don't see why not, get the offset right and shouldn't be an issue, they havnt changed anything that I know of to our 2018 model
Is your fortuner made in thailand or japan?
Thailand
very low milage mate
Cheers
Awesome vid mate, thanks.
Thank you
