I am a Kakko believer. last year he was hurt. I think they should keep him. Id hate to see them trade him. Id stick him on top line again. So strong on puck when healthy
I agree… what’s the worst that could happen… they won the presidents trophy last year without a 1st line RW anyway so just let him stay there and give him time and see what happens
Kakko has a totally different style that the players will not understand last season he showed his effectiveness but there were no players there in front of net for him . I see him scoring 20 goals this season is it a long shot i believe it is it's up to him. I believe Rempe should play the same style of hockey that Malkin plays and it is more offensive than physical and management should step in on this issue of how they want him to play.
No Othmann needs to do what every first round pick has to do in this organization and that is play on the 4th line and block shots. You don't want him using his skill and talent. What are you nuts? Lol
Kakko is not the problem on this team. There is no reason to get rid of him right now. He is young, cheap, big, and strong. However, he needs to go to the middle and shoot more. Why hasn't he blossomed on this team yet? Development! Whoever is responsible for that on this team needs to be fired. If Laf and Kakko were on Dallas they would be way better players.
Kakko I believe should be moved to the trocheck line, put laff ck20 and mika. I feel both laffy and kk will excel in these positions. I also would like to see the former kid line again. They were really relentless at time when clicking. Remember that "shift". Don't give up on kk . Lgr!!!! 2024-25
LoL....I read that article from Stan. Hilarious. Just the long running standard: from myopic, Stan The Homer, 😆 Interestingly, as per usual Stan: he failed to mention that Bastian received his consequences, for his dirty, cheap shots on Schneider, Fox, and Bread; in the first round, two years ago. There's a reason both Rempe and Edstrom converged on Bastian and knocked him into LaLa Land. Everyone in the NHL should be playing with their head on a swivel. Thanks, Captain Obvious. Stan never saw a Devils player, who wasn't an alter boy victim, LoL
If 50% of the team played as tough and determined, as Kakko did: they would have beat the Panthers. Kakko repeatedly fought hard, took hits/delivered hits, won battles for the puck: kept the cycle going, but had no real support from his linemates. His linemates were clueless. Way too many Rangers fans simply don't understand the defensive value, the physical value and battle value of Kakko. They just want to look at offensive production stats. This team lost to the Panthers because they could not match the hardnosed physical and defensive battle, of the Panthers. Yet, they keep looking at offensive stats, rather than defensive prowess, speed and physical toughness. This fan base loves to repeatedly stab themselves, in order to stop the bleeding. More Kakko's are what we need. Not more ballet dancers.
@philtaylor2387 This is all 5-on-5 experimentation: Put Kakko with Othmann and Berard. Let's make that our new Kid Line. Experiment with the big horses we have, for the first 30 games of the Regulation Season: Double shift Lafrenière ( with Panarin, Trocheck), then run Laffy with Rempe and Edstrom. Double shift Othmann ( with Kreider and ZBad), and as I mentioned above: Kakko, Berard & Othmann Run Rempe with Kreider and Zbad, four or five shifts a game. Same with Cuylle: run him with ZBad and Othmann ( or Smith), then Cuylle, Berard and Kakko. Run Kreider with Carrick and Rempe, several shifts a game. Experiment....we have some huge horses, on this team's depth chart / prospect pool. Get these big horses accustomed to playing a lot of minutes, and with skill players. See how they react and develope: for 30 games. Because when the post-season comes: you need scoring depth from role players, with your star players being shadowed and snuffed out.. That's what wins Cups. You need those big, tough role players who battle like savages, throw the hits, take the hits, battle fiercely between the circles and in front of the net: creating chaos, creating space, creating passing Lanes and shooting lanes; and bulldozing the puck into the net. Whack it in, smack it in..deflection off body parts. What ever it takes. Give our big horses the opportunity to thrive and put them in positions to use their best attributes. It could work out very well for the Rangers. And there won't be any need to go looking to trades, to bring big horses; cause we already have them.
@philtaylor2387 For clarification: I know Berard is a smaller player. But he's very fast, slick, smart and he's a playmaker who's also finding his goal scoring abilities, at the pro level. Get him on the roster, now. He will earn it. Berard on lined with the players I mentioned above: will give opponents fits.
I think its foolish for a team short on talent , on Right Wing , to trade a Young Player with lots of Upside and a team friendly contract . A. Much Better idea is commit to playing him on one line , like they did last Year with Alexis LaFreniere , and look How he blossomed . Kakko is still one of their best two way forwards and drives play . I feel playing Reilly Smith on Mika's line over Kappa Kakko is a huge Mistake . Smith is past His prime and could not crack top 6 in Pittsburgh last year , even when Jake Genteel was injured , then subsequently traded . Commit to Kakko on 1st line and if He stays healthy , I bet His Numbers will more than double from last year . Besides His value is at an All time Low right Now , so How much would we get in return , for a #2 overall pick. If Not a legitimate RW , to slot on 1st line , they are way better off holding onto Kakko and learn How to develop Young players !!! ✌🏒🏒🏒

Kakko needs a fresh start somewhere else. Let’s see what Othmann can do there
