Talad Rot Fai Ratchada (ตลาดรถไฟรัชดา) - Also known as the train market, is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok. It’s especially popular on the weekend when a younger crowd flocks to the market to eat the latest Thai street food trends, and hang out with friends.
The train market has in recent months become famous for its giant food - you’ll find a number of giant Thai dishes to try like egg noodles, pork bone soup, and now the massive lobster tom yum - possibly the world’s biggest bowl of tom yum?
Diaw Goong Rot Fai Restaurant (เตี๋ยวกุ้งรถไฟ) - This is the name of the restaurant, and when we ordered they started preparing the lobster.
Giant Lobster Tom Yum (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวต้มยำโครตกุ้งมังกรยักษ์) - They serve it in a basin, like a mini bathtub, not even a bowl. And it’s HUGE. They layer in the fish, squid, mussels, shrimp, and finally a giant lobster goes on top, followed by all the tom yum soup broth. Honestly, the seafood isn’t the freshest or best quality, but you don’t really go to eat a bathtub of seafood for the quality - you go for the insaneness of it.
Price - 2,800 THB ($89.27)

You most probably went to the 2 worst places in the country to visit - grossly overpriced, jaded/scamming locals, dirty beaches, massive traffic jams, high tourist traps like no other, no real authentic 'Thai atmosphere, and just completely ruined by both over-tourism and greedy locals - not anything like they once were in the 70s and 80s. I hope you at least saw some more 'real' Thailand than those two cesspools. (I lived in that country for 18 yrs. I know)

look at his other videos from Thailand, the prices are hella cheap compared to the states. It may seem like a lot for the Tom Yam but look at what you get inside the bowl....if the U.S. offered that, you would get charged $150+ easily.

electric feel you’d be surprised bro Americans pay dumb amounts of money for food they think is “quality.” Plus I doubt mark gets over charged because he not only speaks the language....he said he’s lived there for a while...and he’s with his wife who is from there as well.

Travel With Mansoureh Oh yes! We have a HUGE shoreline and multiple islands in our waters, plus a lot of water bodies inland as well. There are all sorts of sea food dishes that would satisfy almost every sea food lover in the world.

A must try on my next trip to Bangkok. I just have to find a few friends willing to eat that much. Also, the aerial shot of the market really shows how huge the market is. It looks almost impossible to cover it all in one night. Great video Mark!!
