This is exactly what I've been searching for, thank you Wave's.
Thank you for making this video, much appreciated.
Cool review, thanks Matty.
İ find this to make vocals a bit hollow use it very carefully. Very very little like no more than 15 or 20 . Sooth 2 is so much more pro in every aspect. Oversampling in ultra setting. Mid side options. And its for every sound not just vocals. And its smooth it doesnt take away the colour of your sound. Good time to buy it now if its in your budget of coarse.
I think you could use this on any sound
@@BurntMcgurnt yess why not 🤗
Just got soothe2 and it helps SO MUCH. Got this thing as well but no definitely not a soothe 2 killer.
true, getting soothe 2 in black friday sale was best choice i made in 2023!
@@Sigorzav_Mixing my best audio choices were soothe2, spiff and getting a plugin alliance subscription.
Loving it so far.. Now trying to find a place for it in the template!
I don’t have Soothe 2, so I’ll definitely pick this up. Thx!
Probably still use Soothe for stdio projects but definitely try this out of for my broadcast mix template. Can't hurt to try getting the free license.
so you are working with Studio One as your DAW right now?
Sounds great to me it makes removing harsh sounds super easy if u did smooth op or soothe 2 it would take longer than a view clicks on silk
Sounds Nice:)
Listened to the voices through my phone, but I'm not sure specially the male vocal, sounds better. It's really important to rely on your ears with this kind of tools.
Yah 100%. I talk about that towards the end of the video. You gotta be careful with all these dynamics plugins cause they can suck the life out of a performance.
soothe killer already exists:
DSEQ3
Where should I put this plugin in a vocaL chain ? Thanks for the review.
That's what i was wondering too
I'd say after your compression and EQ but probably before your saturation
Depends on how you use it. If you’re using it to cut out a lot of low end then def use it before compressor.
It was free for one day, a special black friday deal.
Now it has a normal waves price.
if you have this, should i still get the R vox compressor?
2 completely different things ;)
@@Mezzrow64 thank you! Was making sure they both used different compressors
Depends. The Silk comp is designed and sounding quite similar to the rvox, but the rvox has more options and is imo one of the best vocal compressors in the toolbox.
It's R-vox algorithm inside silk. There's no need to buy both
also because soothe is now a live plugin for avid hardware live show applications waves had to step in
for me sooth2 will be the best for a long time
This is like that Josh Gudwin Plugin not comparable to Soothe
Hey Matty! Temporarily back in Studio One?
haha. Studio One has gotten more stable. I've been mixing more in S1 over the last few weeks that in Pro Tools. I'm more than happy to move back to S1 if I don't have stability issues.
@@mixedbymatty yeah, I had issues right around the time you mentioned it, but it got better for me a few weeks later. I love the macros in this DAW. Close to 30 of my favorite plugins are on a hotkey and I'm living that life lol. Only thing that annoys me about version 6 is the plugin pin behavior and that you cannot permanently disable "stretch files to song tempo". They really messed that up. They took so many nifty options away from the new song window I had to go back to 5 despite the awesome workflow improvements of 6.
Guys did you get it in your email yet? How do I retrieve my free plugin after putting my email in
You have to have the waves central program and it will be in there to install
thanks wave to makle it possible to use it live without using an Avid Engine
does it work on something else than vocals?
Given that its called silk "vocal" probably not. But it may be possible to use on other tracks, you would have to apply and find out🤷♂️
No rules. I think it could work great any anything you need to tame nasty resonance with. Could be good for Guitars.
@@mixedbymatty that could be very possible, and most techniques were created by pushing the boundaries and crossing the line, so it may be worth putting it on some other tracks other than vocals💯
So it's like soothe?
it's taking out exaggerated frequencies, so yeah, basically doing the same as Soothe, Smooth Operator, DSEQ, etc
Has someone tried it on the whole mix?
I'm also curious as to how it works on tracks that aren't vocals!
The vocals in your project suffer from s-es you would be better off de-essing also you have probably put a high shelf on the vocals before using it with silk vocal didn't you? From what is see this plugin is nice and it could save people a whole lot of something, but it is by no means a sooth 2 killer. Waves are known for top end plugins but also for re-using modules in their engine and they did it with silk vocal i quess.
What did they reuse?
Oh I guess part of it is rvox maybe haha
tried it today and was really disappointed to be honest. female S'es where still harsh but vocals started sounding dull very quickly
why are so many youtubers promoting this thing? it's like all the pumpers have been called on mass.. what's up with all the marketing?
To market to the public 😮 who would have thought
money from waves
Say what you want about Waves, but they always seem to take the best ideas, and make them even better. True innovators.
I got no problem with waves. But I know a lot of people do.
they also take the worst business models and make them worse. true innovators there as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@mixedbymatty It's just that stupid update plan. 🤲🏻
Not sure if this was intentional sarcasm ... but "take the best ideas [from others] and make them better" is kinda the polar opposite of innovation 😆
@@davidleewarner😭
Have both and I can confirm that Soothe2 sounds better
Soothe is better and more flexible, BUT for free silk kicks ass
and who are you to talk? Soothe is for noobs who cant mix.
Woul've been nice to hear it on a male " Singer ".
Think Soothe 2 users will hate this 😂
Seems like it kinda takes the mojo away from the vocals
Soothe isn't designed to be primarily used on vocals, so definitely not
Basically a vocal soothe 2 with rvox compressor
That sounds amazing. Definitely gonna try it
Im done with this company since they try to fk with us with their only subscription plan 👎
Everyone on the Sub plan now. Just the way things are moving. I get it though. It's frustrating.
How are you going to leave when they listened to their customers and went back to allowing you to buy plugins. You’re mad they tried and went back after hearing customers complaints ?
@@407movementBeats "A b#tch iz a b#tch" lesson from NWA 😊
no. it's a clone. but still useful. mainly for price point
He can’t be soothe killer both just doing well depends the area you want to use it
Might be a good Plugin but i am denying downloading any waves plugins ever again. I hate this company
Stop crying
I guess your production finna be trash forever waves is the way to go😭
cry calm
I am on the same boat man. I literally use 6 Plugs from Waves now. Thats it. And I ain't turning it to 7.
@@rishabhbose29Ha ha. Seven is just too much? 😁
This plug-in more like advance fresh air but not Soothe
You look like the Austrian rapper money boy
Should say free for 1 year. Subscriptions for plugs are about as stupid as leasing a car.
I think the answer to the post question is an automatic no.
Don't hate.
Just use the plug in its free after all
Have you tried it? Before answering the question I’d at least try it first to see how it compares
check out "Betteridge's law of headlines"
Link says it's $29.99? Free? Nope.
it was free once
@@petussuss The video was posted two months ago and i replied a few weeks later. Free for max a few weeks. Sadly.
its not even the same thing as sooth2 or the new up coming soothe 3, and besides its already cracked and out
the most anoying thing about the headline is that it isn't free at all
Ya it is I just got It for fee
@@BurntMcgurnt what do I have to do?
@@Jaburu sorry they just started charging right after i got my license
@@BurntMcgurnt It seams they gave 10000 free licenses
it is not free anymore... unfortunately.
The answer is : it's absolutely not a soothe killa. @Everybody :Try both and use your ears, the answer should be clear one minute later.
Calling this a Soothe 2 killer is pure clickbait.
Free? I paid for it 😭
another soothe
this one was free for a reason fellas.. buy Soothe if you have the $
The answer is “No”.
Long story short: No
No, it's not.
Hell no. Wash your mouth out with soap and apologise to the plugin gods immediately.
I hope it’s a Soothe killer…cause Soothe is ridiculously overpriced!
It doesn't seem to be a soothe2 killer but it does like 80% of the work for no money, which is definitely a good thing
Soothe is dreaming charging 139 - LOL..no way - in 2023, this has to be 49 tops! old plugin.
@@levondarratt787 hey, here in Australia, soothe is $350!
All was going well til that rap crap came on.👎
