I had those when I was in Penticton BC in 2004 for Ironman. Its northeast of Vancouver I had diff flavors…more fruity n diff colours (😜) Theyre so gooooood. Cheers fam 🥂🎄🐶🥰
I like all your guys videos (nr6wc etc) but as a chef, i obviously like the cooking/baking vids alot. Your videos always lighten up my day a bit and give me a warm feeling. I guess helping my sick parents and my granny takes a toll on me after all. But hey, iam pushing through it, thats life. Am i right? Happy holidays everyone and dont forget to hug your loved ones.
You did it perfectly, both in making and pronouncing them :) They are a staple here for sure, and YES you need milk or coffee to go with them. They are one of those things that come out EVERY event, weddings, banquets, birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc etc So I have had them growing up all the time, plus most grocery stores just sell premade ones in 6 packs or whole trays. They have also crossed over into flavouring (another U word) Nanaimo Bar Chocolate Bars and Nanaimo Bar Irish Cream Balieys
This is my fav all time fav treat. Had them all of my life and never get old. You and Ally did amazing but def keep them in the fridge longer after that chocolate really set. When Canada turn 150 Tim Horton's actually made an Nanimo donuts which were not too bad shocking it is. But awesome video love these Nanaimo Bars and now i really one lol can't eat too many of them.
i seen something like that before w coconut instead of custard but never tried em. the ones u made looked great. i love Aly and Sean cooking videos! ya'll are just so cute together!
President’s Choice is a store brand from a Canadian grocery store called Loblaws. A lot of their products are really good and are of high quality, as they get chefs to test and develop their products. I find with the directions of PC products, the time they suggest in the instructions can be hit and miss. Would leave them in the fridge for about 30 min or just long enough for the chocolate to harden. Aly- err I mean the both of you did an awesome job and made them perfectly. You guys are right, they are really rich. I find them really sicky sweet and don’t like coconut. Not a fan of Nanaimo bars. If they kick me out of Canada, I’m heading your way, lololol Amazing job, Aly errr I mean Aly and Sean! 🤣😂😃😎🇨🇦💕🇺🇸
I love your honest opinions and they are one of my favourite Canadian deserts milk is great with them and the coconut chocolate bottom is fantastically delicious 😋 my favourite version is from M+M's meatshop even though I find they're a tad overpriced
Cute vid with the whole cast! My wife did an ex-pat up in Vancouver and brought these home from an office cookie exchange one year for me try. I'm not big on coconut in my desserts, so it was a hard-pass for me. That said, glad you guys got a chance to try them out... but my wife and I were really intrigued by the mixed drink you started the video with!! We'll be trying those this weekend!
I see you using up that Canadian Club in the whiskey sours! LOL No shame in that game, the whiskey sour is one of the few cocktails I really enjoy. 👍 All hail Aly's baking expertise! 🧁 I know I'm not a real baker bc I do not own an offset spatula. Or a stand mixer.
Cool video, I’ve been watching your videos since you guys had like 3k subscribers on NumberSixWithCheese, I’m from Victoria, BC, I drive through Nanaimo all the time. I would almost prefer Nanaimo bars if they had peanuts or peanut butter or something on the bottom but they’re still good. Something you’ve gotta try sometime is cream cheese brownies if you haven’t had them. I can ask a retired bakery owner their secret recipe if you want.
it's funny that you say they would be really good cold because they normally come Frozen and then you just let them defrost a little until you can break into them.
Aly says she’s spending all the donation money on our wedding in Montana and I’m not allowed to spend any of it myself on more cameras. 😭
