A wonderful Treat👍🏽👏🏾❣️ I was about 8 yrs old in Houston TX when it began broadcasting in the U S. It got me forever hooked on its witty political commentary, and the British droll humour. It has never been surpassed❣️
My late mother remembered she never missed TW3, and it was appointment viewing for a lot of people back then - you never quite knew what was going to happen. I heard an interview with Ned Sherrin years ago, he said the reason virtually all the episodes survive is because the BBC were so afraid of litigation, they wanted to keep recordings in case they were sued!
Loved it. Davis Frost Eleanor Bron., Roy Kinnear, Willie Rushton and the catchy intro sung by Millicent Martin. Real cut and thrust satire. It was a highpoint on saturday night for mexand my dad
TWTWTW was a fantastic show that prompted folk to think outside of the square in respect to traditional facets and attitudes but also accepting of a significant and compounding drop in living standards.. The show took the mickey out of many but "safe" aspects of politics, corporates, unions and celebrities but sigificant issues were out of bounds.
If only Have I Got News For You began with the week’s news sung by Millicent Martin - and had a fraction of the satirical intelligence of TW3. Her expressions to camera are priceless.
Absolute brilliance.Somehow these qualities do not seem to attract deserved public acclaim these days.Other examples: Peter Ustinov:Bach Cantata; Dudley Moore:parodies:Victor Borge:Happy Birthday (especially to JS Bach with its seemingly interminable sequential passages
TW3; intelligent TV that is rarely seen anymore. A gift from our British cousins across the sea. I think it's missed on both sides of the pond. The only thing I can think of that in a very, very different way matched it was the early generations of SNL.
I was old enough to watch TW3 each week. I still have the scars! I learnt to look more closely at 'my betters' and not take everything at face value. It started my interest in Politics. I also had a crush on Millicent Martin.
but it was satire of the time. Nostalgia of All American whatnot made fun of the Americans segregating so harshly, it should work in favour for lefties and the change from bits of conservatism. PC is quite shit I'll say.
Where did you get this incredibly great print of this? Looks like it was done last night...and Millie Martin LOVED seeing it! Thank you, Husband #3 (She loved hearing I WASN'T INVITED! again) And she sang those WITHOUT MONITORS. Thank you Charlie Bowser!!!
Why do i depise that. Ned Sherrin who's such a snidy lookin bigot who many people in the industry who didn't take a fancy too Hes Marmite Love or hate him and nothing between
This brilliant ground breaking program was greatly admired by sophisticated and intelligent individuals, which clearly explains why you didn't understand it.
He got through that entire intro to the rebroadcast without a cut or mistake.

I looked out for Eleanor Bron here and couldn't see her. It said on the end titles "Fenella Fielding" but I couldn't see her either
I saw this in 1963 - I was 23 and I don't remember any of it.
Lucky in America to have the copy of this show! With David Frost!

as a gay man, this is absolutely hilarious. Fantastic satire that was way ahead of its time and very progressive for the sixties!
The swinging sixties😇, Those Were The Years That Were😂
Way beyond the time. Ned Sberrin - magnificent.
Love David Frost's deadpan delivery!

I wish we had a remake of this
Telstar, The Tornadoes. Great song.

What a great erudite intro by Ned Sherrin
How far the BBC has fallen from its glory days.
You long for the days of Savile, bigotry and rubbish TV and ignore all the great telly that's on there now? Good luck with that, Granddad
@@Sundae_Times I'm thinking 40's and 50's era. Back when our media was pro British.
@@IITJII95 I'm not even going to dignify that with a response.
@@Sundae_Times of course you won't 👌🏻🤍
@@IITJII95 Yes, sorry - I have a policy of not engaging with racists.
16:20 love the goons show reference XD
the 60s version of the daily show
But far superior.
Love how they made fun of the Liberals, Labour, and the Tories all in one!
Brilliant show - shame we cannot have something like that today, but I suppose we are too PC now

Aww, are you crying because there's no bigotry on there any more? Do you miss Jimmy Savile too? Bless
@@Sundae_TimesAnd how was this show bigoted? Get over yourself.
@@vrinda5303 Aww, did I hurt your feelings, snowflake?
