I waited 4 years to tell this story, I first contacted Sterling Backus in late 2019, and asked how far off from finishing the Lambo he was, and he said late 2020, well it was late 2022 when he got it done. So as I like to tell complete stories, I said I would wait until he has the body painted and the interior all finished, and the car looks like a complete car, at that time I will tell his story. *Lots of other people told his story in 2019 on an incomplete car, I waited 4 years until it was finished.*
@@terriwetz6077 my video shows the car in it's current final "primer" form as of mid October 2023, originally it's final form was the white painted car, and that was going to be where the video finished, showing you the Lambo in it's final white form, then I checked his channel, and he did further work on it. so like I said, it's a work in progress, the master is still working.
Meanwhile if it was Ferrari they would have sued him.... It's honestly pretty awesome that Lamborghini actually sent him parts for it. I hope to see this at LSFest someday.

This is absolutley astonishing. I renovate homes and often do some of the work myself where I'm hit with curve-balls all the time. This is next level. Absolutley incredible.

Great dad! My dad was a master mechanic, could build and repair anything mechanical, and I would be thrilled when he would help me with my bike. This boy will one day truly appreciate what his dad has done. As the dad said, it's a little hillbilly, but man is it ever cool. I like his modesty.

This is one of my life goals. I could do the printing much faster (newer tech, 10 machines.) But everything else would make it a 10 year project for me. Awesome build!!!!

Awesome job! Only bit of advice I can give is, it sounds like a corvette. You can buy a specific electronic muffler, or something that has to do with your muffler, that will make the car sound like a lambo. I forgot what its actually called, but you can just Google that and it will come up. Jot that expensive.
I don't know why we're not just 3d printing cars at this point. The cost of only having to replace a few panels at a time for a small accident significantly outweighs having to put down $5000 for a 4in scratch on a supercar because you have to replace the entire panel.
@@chevinkennedy we already have industrial sized 3d printers that can print accurate with multi color at a decently fast speed. So I can assure you spending $5000 for a piece of plastic that was just molded is not going to outweigh a 3d printer that can do it for $100.
I applaud Lamborghini for recognizing an amazing artistic, inguinity, imagination and lastly the love of a father to his son and making dreams come true no matter what. Ferrari should learn to humble down and step down being so arrogant and learn to recognize amazing qualities and admiration of their products that 99% of all humanity cant afford to buy instead will try to find ways to somehow achieve their dreams of owning one. Specially when the craftmanship is amazing and clearly there is no intent to disrespect the prestigious brands of Lambo n Ferrari.
Reminds me of “I wanted another key fob for my garage door, but when I contacted the company they wanted $100 for a new one programmed to my door. So, of course I went out and spent $250 on parts and tools, then spent 8 weeks reverse engineering it so I could build my own”. I had a similar situation recently, I wanted a guitar compressor pedal, so, naturally I spent more on the parts to build one and 6 weeks figuring out how they work. If you don’t understand how that makes sense, you just won’t get it. Most people see a button and just push it, the rest of us, for whatever reason, wonder how it works, tear it apart, reverse engineer it and build our own.
Boy, talk about a labor of love! I'd like to know the process to get this beast registered to be legal on the road and what is involved in getting it insured.
My God...... Sir you have got patient...... you must have some good skills in 3D software, only thing bother me is how did you decide to make sections in 3D software, I use 3Ds max for very long and modeling cars in it...... I would be happy to help you if you are engage in any other project......

A massive undertaking and an awesome job.. well done.. However, not so much of a 3d printed Lambo, but more of a custom build with a body using 3d printed panels and finished with carbon fibre. Unrealistic title aside, still an awesome job!!

Well I guess you missed the part where it started melting 😂. He covered the panels with carbon fiber to stiffen it up and prevent the warping but he really should have used nylon or abs.

Impressive replica..only thing I would suggest is to tighten up those gap spaces from your assembled parts ( frontal body kit / trunk hood) 😊.

It takes to long until we get faster printers current manufacturing processes are simply more efficient

@ key word “decently” fast still is light years slower then traditional manufacturing processes. Doesn’t mean that won’t change in the near future tho

I would’ve understood if he kept all the gauges analog but he even incorporated tablet displays with custom screens. Just incredible.
