i think it may be because the subtitles are for the Japanese version, but they changed the wording a bit so it makes more sense in English
Zatos English voice actor is voiced by Matthew Mercer who voices jotaro and his Japanese voice actor is dio that’s kinda wild

@@epicurusstan3223 well it's basically the same as dragonball fighterz since it is arc system as well but the dialogue is suppose to be lip syncing with the japanese wording and it will sometimes lose it's original meaning if they try to fully lip sync it, also it would take way more time trying to code and animate the lipsync specifically for different languages.

The dub sounds pretty good, though I wonder if they'll change the subtitles for the dubbed voices, since it looks like the subtitles here are for the Japanese translated lines, rather than the lines they went with for the dub.

Agreed. Him and Leo. Giovanna slightly disappointed me. I was hoping they would have given her a cocky voice and Milia more of a Russian accent. But above all they did a good job all around.
yeah most of them aren't bad, but why stick with "not bad" when the originals are great?
@@lonewolffang First of all Giovanna isn't cocky, and Millia did not grow up in Russia(she is Russian though), so it will make bo sense why she should have the accent.

I'm surprised that the voices are actually pretty good. I think my only issue is some of the English lines are just a little more... boring? Like the Japanese dub is really over the top and fun, and while I don't think that would work in English, it feels like there is a bit of personality missing, which is pretty important for the Heavy Metal Fighting Game.
It can grow on me for sure, I'd have to hear more of it in action.

I'm kinda glad Faust speaks, I thought he'd just like groan with a demonic voice.
I'm really happy the introductions and outros are not stock default chatter like in SFV. Like in NRS games if they have history it is acknowledged. The I-No and Axl banter was very NRS like with the smart ass rebuttals.

The voices are great but the subtitles need to be fixed and the lip synching can be downright terrible at times.
That's assuming lip synching for english is in the plan to begin with as the lips match the japanese dialogue (and the subs are true to them). This dialogue, while not exactly what the subs state are what they could do for the mouth flaps. DBFZ while much of the acting was good it is annoying to see the mouths still going with no dialogue being spoken.
I'd be happily shocked if Arc actually does take the time to do it.

I've never seen s fighting game care to lip sync english voices that isnt an NRS game
I'm like 50/50 on the dub voices. Half of them are good/great, whereas the other half are mediocre or just don't sound right at all.
Faust feels really wrong, his Japanese VA is really wacky but then the English one is so deep in comparison, a lot of the line delivery sounds very wrong like it needs to be more snappy i guess.
as it is, it just sounds very bland and emotionless

Almost all these voices are either trash (Sol, Chipp, Anji, Giovanna, and Jesus Christ Axl) or meh (Ramlethal, Potemkin, Faust, Ky, Nagoriyuki, and May.) By "meh" I mean either being not suited at all to the characters or lacking any personality at all in the delivery. The only ones that sounded somewhat good were Zato-1 and Leo.
Bit surprised they brought back Sol's VA from Sign. Wasn't a fan of him before, but he sounds better here

Everyone is great or good. But if I were to choose who I don’t like it’s Sol and Chipp. Sol doesn’t sound like he’s choking on cigarettes, it’s a lot smoother. But I feel like he’s trying hard to sound deep. Chipp sounds way too high pitch. I do think their deliver is better, but I think they need to be replaced. But in willing to give them a second chance. Voices I’m super thrilled with its Ky and Ram.

Arc never dubbed revelator but they actually dubbed strive? How interesting. Just like how they never dubbed BBCF but dubbed cross tag battle. Either arc system works is lazy, or they just don’t have a lot of money.
Even better, they dubbed Sign, but not Revelator. And then here again in Strive.
Just a comment, their english voice and english sub is a little different, although both meaning is still the same.
I don't see why everyone thinks this is better than xrd. I think they're on par with each other.
Ehh I think some are better. Like Ram's dub voice is a massive improvement.
@@Titanxzero1 I-No's voice is a bit better too. Tara Platt did a good job in Xrd but I wasn't completely sold on her. This new woman Amber Lee Connors though nearly perfected the role.
I think all of them are pretty good but at times they sound off particularly in game but I'm gonna miss XRD Ky ngl. New one is fine tho they both are very different in a good way.
