Loud pipes save lives. Also the amount of times my car being loud has alerted pedestrians im coming when they’re not supposed to be somewhere especially in a city with people jaywalking all the time. Loud exhaust to an extent are safe.
Same here literally people have heard my bike just as they were about to step into the road and thought better of it.
Studies and statistics show that it not true tho, no matter the country. their is loud and there is LOUD, having a empty pipe for a exhaust is just being a ass who wants to make noise.

I hate that inspection crap, it’s like “hey your legal, everything’s good, but we’re going to now LOOK for something illegal so we can ticket you” which by the way is illegal. Or it’s “hey we pulled you over for this, now show us everything on the bike cause we’re going to be looking for something else to ticket you on as well.” 🤦♂️ this is why bikers run, no point in stopping just to be harassed for some BS ticket especially when insurance is already expensive enough as it is on top of registration for the vehicle in certain places.
Thy do the exact same thing to people in cars. Police are nothing more than extortionists. Always phishing for more crimes to squeeze more money out of someone.
I'm in AZ. 20 years on every litre bike I could buy. Custom exhaust, flush mounts and basically every other illegal mod.
Only time I EVER got pulled over was standing the bike up on the back wheel, passing a cop🤣.

I've ran open exhaust on a lot of things and I've never been stopped one time for it.. it really must depend on where you live
Florida man knows not of these silly rules. I am lucky. But we do not have lane filtering, so I split. We do have chase laws in police favor. But the police are more often than not cool if you stop. Many don't. All I can say is hopefully there wasn't an armed robbery that got the bird in the air. Once it is airborne it will be tasked to do anything to not waste that resource.
These cops are road pirates/tyrants. They drive modified vehicles. He should have done an inspection on her cruiser. I bet that Karen wouldn't have let that slide.

The last cop, she was determined to give you a ticket, I wouldn't have argued with her as she knows you're upset and she's feeding off it.. just take the ticket and really hope karma bites her in her big fat arse... 😂
When "protect and serve" becomes "generate revenue and flex authority muscles to feel powerful" i could see giving "fix it tickets" to people with genuine safety issues with the bikes, cars etc. But for non safety related items and not even a fix it ticket is purely to make money for the city. Nothing more.

they for sure can and do. in high school i was pulled over by an undercover narcotics officer that incited me into speeding by pulling alongside me on a 2 lane highway and taking off and slowing back down next to me trying to get me to do it and when he came back one time i sped up and moved in front of them so they would stop and hopefully get the hint i wasnt interested. at that point i just thought it was any other red 3 door silverado with tint. looked like any number of trucks that people drove at my school so i didnt think anything of it until blue lights came on when i got in front of them. they had followed me from the park i had left hanging out with my friends in town (which i knew bc i had seen them pull behind me when i left but like i said i thought it was just someone else at the park like me going the same direction). but yea he searched my car and everything without back up and he was in civilian clothes with just a gun and badge on his hip. if the inside of his truck and the lights hadnt been done so well i dont think i wouldve even believed he was an actual cop. anyways yea thats not the case at all unless its a policy thing.

Any ticket should involve looking out for the safety of the rider and others on the road. Tickets for other things are simply the state's "justification" for collecting revenue. Sad, government is in business.

There is no law about visible plate on motorcycle here. Cop tried to give fix it ticket for no license plate light. I told him I only need a headlight and brake light on motorcycle here.

If you checkout the 'punishments' the courts hand out, you will see that it's almost always a monetary fine with little or no jail time - even for things like drunk driving!

I don't understand. If you're going to tuck your plate up so no one can see it, you're going to get pulled over and probably get a ticket. So why not just remove it completely. Or if you plan on stopping for cops make it legal?
