That was my favorite P136 review (I watched them all to help decide on buying this pen), thank you for making it. The lore and knowledge around the accessories for P136 would be incomplete & very confusing, without your relaxing show-and-tell.
I like that classic look and the color choices on offer. Having extra nib units that can easily be swapped in is great. Thanks for another thorough review.
My black P136 posts quite nicely. It took a little effort at first but now it is a non-issue for this obligate poster. Aside - it is now running a bock nib and is one of my favorite pens. Thank you for the review.
Looks like a slimmer version of my Bordeaux colored Platinum President, nice. I suppose then that it looks like a slim MB 146. The nib on my new 149 unscrews without a wrench which is nice.
Great review, very detailed! I love your choice of ink, too. :) Keep it up! That piston assembly, nib unit, even the feed underneath the nib and the taper of the finials at either end of the pen all scream Montblanc 146 to me. I'm quite surprised by how close the assembly is, but as far as I can tell these are still of great quality for a considerable amount less than any 146. I've worked on quite a lot of Montblancs in my time, so I'm excited to tinker with my P136 when it arrives.
Hi Chris, have ordered this in black with medium nib along with wrench.. i think you like this one more than wing sung 630 so have to try this one. Moreover its slim so may feel better in my hands..
Great video. I've just ordered one of these myself... can't wait to try it out now. I'm going to have to go back and see if I can add one some of those nib units for JoWo nibs.
Wow, another majohn / moonman piston filler! Great review and pen!! Loads of little avenues of complex parts and stuff to explore on this pen. As always very informative reviews.
I'm thinking that "feel the temperature of writing" probably means "feel the excitement/passion of writing" (which makes more sense). The Chinese word for temperature/heat can sometimes mean excitement.
I'm torn between this one and the PenBBS 456. I've seen your reviews of both. I think the filling system on the 456 appeals to me more, as an old Sheaffer.
Very comprehensive review. Thinking to get one of these, and debating on whether F or EF. Can you say how the Chinese nib sizes compare to Japanese, or European?
Had to come back to this video bc I noticed Etsy has the P136 available with the 1.1mm option. Not sold on the 1.1 yet, the medium looks very nice though
Loved your review. I love their stub nib especially at the price they are selling it. Do you think I can use it as a replacement for a Jowo or bock nib. Will it fit in the jowo or bock nib units?
Thanks for the review, Chris. I have just received my order and have not inked it yet. As I have a Wing Sung 629, I am curious if this pen will work as well as the 629. Have you considered comparing the two?
@@paulmchugh1430 Similar pens, different shapes, 929 slightly thicker. Both well made, feel good. P136 a little heavier, 5gm. Clips almost identical. Main difference is P136 has mor nib options. I enjoy both.

My pleasure! My focus is on that. Glad to hear it works.
The best review on P136!
Thanks. Enjoy your new year, with pens!

Reason I didn't get it was that reviews noted it doesn't post, but if it does in the new iteration I might.
Thank you for your comment. Do you have a ref or a link for your bock nib ?
Have a nice day !
Nice review. I didn't realize there was a M nib option. I appreciate them stepping up their quality/complexity.
I too love this pen! Thanks for your review, because kyou showed me a lot I did not know. :)
Talked me into it! Just ordered the green with wrench AND a medium nib from easybuy! Thanks for spending my money-again 😅😊
My pleasure. What's money for? Thanks for watching.
Chris, thanks for going into detail on this pen. The nib info as very helpful. It was time well spent. 👍👍👍

I agree. As I do not own a 146 nor plan to, I don't find the resemblance to be of an import. I enjoy the P136 for what ir is.
Great deep dive, thanks! They seem to be working hard at Moonjohn. The burgundy is really classy and wow! that medium nib
was a clear standout.
Moonman fine/medium nibs in number six size were always pretty nice. The old fine was really a medium, so nice to see it labeled as such now.
Moonjohn🤣
Great job Chris very informative!
Hope you are doing great and keep up the great work
Thanks. This video took a lot. So much to cover. Appreciate the support.

Thanks Chris. I'll definitely be seeking out the Jowo section when I buy my P136.

It would be nice to see a demonstrator version to show off that brass piston assembly
Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me the original line looked WIDER than the original line.
I'd say the nibs were equal.
Thank you for such a comprehensive review. Cheers from Oz.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your summer.
@@chrisrap52 I will whenever it starts. It's a little soggy right now.
Thank you for your effort in putting producing a very informative video.

Depends on what nib you like. Both write well. I slightly prefer the M as the 1.1 is on the small size & has a smaller sweet spot.
Loved your review. I love their stub nib especially at the price they are selling it. Do you think I can use it as a replacement for a Jowo or bock nib. Will it fit in the jowo or bock nib units?
Short answer yes. But I have not tried.
I've read conflicting reports on whether current/recent versions will post. Any news on that?
As I show in video, these pens do not post well, cap is not secure. I didn't know there was a newer version.
Thanks for the review!
My pleasure!
Do these nibs fit other Majohn pens? These are flat at the back, nothing sticking up that fits into a converter.
Good question, answer is no. Threads & size is different.
How fine is the EF nib? Is it like a Japanese EF size, or European/German?
I'd say closer to western EF.
I know you do not like to compare pens, but the 630 and the p136 are nearly the same price.($ p136 + tool)~ $WS 630. So, which do you prefer and why?
Also Wingsung 629. I prefer 630, largest by far, great softer nib. More enjoyable writer.
@@chrisrap52 Thank you Chris.I watched your video reviews back to back and saw how enthusiastic you were about the 630 nib.
@@chrisrap52 I obtained the 630 and I am very impressed by this pen and it has a very different feel than others. But the nib is really a 10+
Thanks for the review, Chris. I have just received my order and have not inked it yet.

Haven't been into comparisons, too many "new" pens to review. Maybe when I stop buying I'll start.
@@chrisrap52 I have about five new ones from last month I still need to ink, but I was sick, so they just sit on the desk waiting forlorn.
@@chrisrap52 I am wondering if you ever compared the Wing Sung 629 with this pen?

I need a 149 size of one of these! Do they make that yet?
Not yet 😞
No. Buy an 159. You can always want something that is not available or get something you will like that is.
Will the wrench fit a moonman t1 to disassemble the piston.
No, the T1 uses a wrench, the Wingsung & Caliarts ones works. Did you watch any of my T1 reviews? ua-cam.com/video/fDu0L1sGFpI/v-deo.html
did the fine nib feels like true fine? or is it just like japanese nibs that behaves like EF western
More like a Western fine.
@@chrisrap52 Thanks for the reply man
Thank you for reviewing the pen….not where it came from.
regarding the design...in my work place we call it R&D... rip off and duplicate!! as you say though - still not the easiest to pull off!
I agree. I was in product development for 10 years. Easier to make something you design vs. something you emulate.
