  • This is a homily for the 3rd week of Easter, Year A. Jesus appears to the disciples on the way to Emmaus, but it is only in the breaking of the bread that they truly see him. Meals are a means of encountering one another, and so I exhort you this week to see the body of Christ in your midst.

I recently said yes to coming to fellowship with young adults in our diocese. I have never felt so at ease. Christ is truly within us when we spend time in community. We are not meant to journey alone. 💓

@Ellen C I didn't make that up either . Thats what my life was like 15 years ago. It was over 20 years ago I be came a Christian . But I didn't get rich and famous. I didn't get the good job or the house in right zip code. I didn't get anything from Jesus, He took everything away from me . And praise him for it everyday. All I got was love, redemption , forgiveness and salvation.

So, what happened to Rob, the homeless man? I don't have money yet, but when I do, I'll build little igloo-shaped shelters for homeless men and ask Franciscan orders to help run them, help these men get back on their feet and become proud, productive members of society.
I love the Franciscans! I am a baptised and confirmed Catholic and studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem - Hebrew language, Arabic language, World Religions, Philosophy, Psychology, History, etc. - and amid all the turmoil, fear and loathing, paranoia and rounds of terrible vengeance, found peace and solace at the libraries and gardens of the Franciscans. I enjoyed many open and honest, clear and candid dialogues with the Franciscan monks present. Thank you, Franciscans!
Since 9/11 - with dubious providence - the US has spent $8 TRILLION on their so-called "War on Terror" on behalf of Israel - thousands of US troop casualties, millions of innocent civilians dead, 22 US Vet suicides every 24 hours, beautiful ancient cities destroyed, millions left homeless and orphaned - and yet the US cannot conjure the money to help the homeless and the PTSD Vets who fought and suffered for their country. Disgusting. I also studied at Columbia in New York City and Berkeley near San Francisco and both campuses had rows of homeless men just outside the gates begging and basking for loose change. I wasn't rich and couldn't help many. But I couldn't square the great wealth all around with the wretched poverty of the homeless citizens. I pray my international environmental enterprises succeed so that I may be in a better position to help the homeless. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

John 8: 29 And He who sent Me is with Me; He [a]has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”
John 14: 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Father, there have been recently appereaning many videos on UA-cam were people say that they had a dream from God that Jesus is coming soon and that we should tell about it others. What do you think about that?

Sad to say that some christians are blinded by their own interpretations and beliefs and beliefs and never recognised Jesus like the two folks walking with him in the road of Emmaus not until Jesus broke the bread.
