Hey sithija, thanks for the video man, really informative. If you are making any new videos, please do consider making on grad school; grades required, research etc, and how you made to cornell, and so on.
Great video Sithija! Just got a new subscriber! I recently purchased the online Magoosh test prep course and was wondering if you recommend supplementing with any other resources or is the online test prep enough ? If so, could you please share which resources you recommend and how to effectively stack them? For context, I am a complete beginner to the GRE! I would sincerely appreciate your help!
Hey thanks for watching and subscribing, Krishna! I think getting used to the types of questions is the biggest thing, so maybe the Manhattan 5lb book would be very useful to pair it with.
Hi Mahesh, I would try to solve each of the questions, section by section and then check the answers. If you feel unfamiliar with the material, you can read the information they give about the sections before they have the questions to get a better understanding. Hope that helps! Let me know if I can help clarify my answer. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your reply see i am basically using 3 books 1) ETS The official Guide to GRE . So this book is for concept and pr q. 2) Manhatern 5 l.b Book. So in this book the pr q which are given so can you tell me that how much q will be asked in gre exam from this book? 3) Magoosh GRE Prep. Concept + pr q. so from the 1 or 3 which book do i use for gre prep@@sithijamanage
@@MaheshPaul-xr7gv 1) Yes. 2) I'm not sure what you mean. The GRE Exam won't have any exact questions from any of the books, but the questions will be similar to the ones in these books. 3) You can start with 3 and if you finish those problems, go to 1. Hope that helps!
Thanks fir your reply In the 2) I mean, as you told in the video that Manhatern 5lb has 1800 question for practice so from this book how much similar question will be asked in GRE Exam? and as you told in that i can use Magoosh Prep book so if i just prepare from this book it will be enough for me rt?@@sithijamanage
@@MaheshPaul-xr7gv There are only 82 questions on the actual GRE, which will hopefully be pretty similar to the ones that you practice in the Manhattan 5lb book. I think that you might want to do more than just the Magoosh Prep book because it doesn't have a lot of questions.
Hello! There is a newer version of 5lb Manhattan book which is made for the shorter gre exam. so should i buy the newest version or consider getting the older one which has way more questions than the recent one
Hi Vijay, I don't think there will be any significant difference in the content. From a quick online search, I couldn't find anything significant. I think prepping the old one with more questions makes sense. Hope this helps!
Fantastic and informative video as always Sithija! I’m currently still in undergrad, but I’m planning on going to grad school to get into Machine Learning. From your experience, how’s Cornell’s ML department?
Thanks for kicking it with me for so long, Nyle! Machine Learning is a great area to pursue for graduate studies. Some schools have their own machine learning department (like CMU), but most schools have machine learning programs within the Computer Science department. Cornell's program is within Computer Science, and I believe it is very strong. There are also statisticians who work on the theory of machine learning problems. Hope that helps!

Hi Sid, thanks for the question. You don't have to talk to any professors at the schools that you are applying to. You can go to the website for biostatistics phd for the schools that you want to apply to and see their application process, which usually includes a personal statement, transcripts, and letters of recommendation.
