Ms Sinu Joseph, your knowledge is profound, your dedication to understand and explain shastras and especially varnas are simply amazing - Thank you so much.
Please keep up the great work to spread the truth.
I heard and, to some extent, agree that classification of people were there long before even Vedas were revealed to the rishis. Vedas gave clarity about these classifications of people with varnas. In Gita, even Lord Krishna, clearly said varnas are not by birth but by their Gunas.
Bottom line - foreigners exploited the varnas to divide and break Hinduism while Indians fell for it and got destroyed them selves.
I hope people, instead of wasting their time in varnas, caste, and creed, in these times, lead to Athma Jnana and realize the beauty of Vedas and Upanishads.

      🚫 Incorrect Explanation Alert! 🚫
Don’t be misled just because someone is wearing a saree and bindi. 🔴
      Here’s the truth:
      • Varna is determined by skills and qualities, not birth.
      • Everyone starts as a Shudra (labourer) and can shift their Varna based on their abilities. 💪
      • Varna is fluid: Throughout history, many who were once considered Shudras became Kings/Kshatriyas, and vice versa.
      Historical Examples:
      • Shudra to King: Raja Bhoj, a notable king of the Paramara dynasty. 👑
      • Kshatriya to Brahmin: Vishwamitra, initially a Kshatriya, transformed into a Brahmin sage and is revered in the Vedic tradition. 🧘‍♂️
      Reference from the Gita (4.13):
      “Chaturvarnyam maya srishtam guna-karma-vibhagashah.”
The Vedas don’t prescribe fixed Varna roles. Instead, Varna describes the different professions in society and how they fit together. 📚
In addition, various smriti’s have different take on varnas and are in general more flexible. Hence throughout India the practice of Varna varied from one place to another.

    Simply profound!
Few of us Indians are aware that the interpretations of many of the primary Indian scriptural texts have been given to us by western scholars who translated them or reinterpreted available translations.
Very few of these studied Sanskrit for scholarly undertakings of such magnitude, filled with nuances and subtleties that revealed themselves only to those who were able to touch the soul of dharmic thought and experience.
Unfortunately for us, these rank cultural outsiders have set the template and tone for our understanding of these supreme concepts that were transmitted over vast spans of time through an unbroken chain of realised - revealed spiritual knowledge of the highest order.
Thanks to the colonial project, these profound truths were mangled and grossly distorted when forced to fit into the constraining conceptual vessels of western polemical thought like post modernism , marxism, scientific materialism and rational secularism.
Many Indians, young and old alike, prefer to view India's civilisational legacy and, in particular, it's sacred texts through this lens of western literary scholarship and critical thinking, allowing no space for a different (more culturally appropriate) perception and understanding of these ancient writings.
We need more Indians like Sinu who can interpret these ancient and forgotten texts for us using the unique markers - language and symbols - of our own civilizational culture and context.
Once we understand the operating principles behind Varna Vidya as Sinu outlines it, we can see how they impact our lives at so many fundamental levels, from communal unrest to caste politics and woke thinking as a social trend rapidly gaining ground in India today.
I have often wondered why many Government servants (at various levels) who came to their jobs through reservation quotas are incompetent or corrupt, sometimes both. I think varna vidya offers some answers to this painful as it is for us to acknowledge.

In this context, the characteristics of a Sudra are linked to the Earth element (Prithvi). People with a dominant Earth element are believed to possess qualities such as:
    1. Stability and grounding
    2. Practicality and hard work
    3. Loyalty and dedication
    4. Simplicity and humility
    5. Physical strength and endurance
These qualities are considered essential for individuals in the Sudra varna, who traditionally engaged in manual labor, craftsmanship, and service-oriented professions.

    Madam
Unlike abrahamical religions one lifetime theory, in Sanathana we have cyclic Life and death i.e. Reincarnation theory.
That means, a man born in brahmana Varna, if strays in his conduct as defined in shastras can take birth in any other Verna, and a Pious Shudra this life , if live in Pious ways, will certainly take birth as brahmin or other varnas.
For one life theorists, this doesn't go in their understandings.

Disappointed! Appalled! Earlier I had such great respect for this author, for her general concerns, as a woman speaking aloud about menstruation and so on. Now, I'm deeply disappointed.. I do respect, but can't stand this misleading.
The explanations strung together are wrong and inconsistent in so many ways.. Not an expert, but a student of physics will find this BS.
Some mention is made about "resonant frequency", and something is said that when a lady shouts in a shrill voice the glass breaks... Does the author even understand that the glass is breaking *at the resonant frequency / its harmonic?
Then, suddenly jumps into electron getting some energy, falling off an orbit releasing light (EM wave), electron losing atom (or was it atom losing electron?) and free radicals... What's all this she's cooking up?
First, if the author deliberates to study physics (without any prejudice), and understand the basic concepts, she will herself find out that her stringing of all these is totally inconsistent!
    I don't see the host being competent either... Viewers? देवानां प्रियाः 😢...
Varna being color, varna being sound of the alphabet, varna being emotion/explanation - all that is OK, we may agree or disagree. But to tell that we are made up of *certain atoms from birth to death - and the same atoms remain! What! Every moment millions of cells undergo death(and are thrown out of the body, with the billions of constituent atoms), millions more are born(from the new food intake, with fully new atoms) ; speaking biologically all atoms within a living body get replaced completely in a duration of about few years. Only in a dead body the atoms (most, not all) remain as is. So, as all atoms get replaced(even as you do every single breathe out), where is the "atoms at birth" leading to varna at birth - remains till death ?
Many such inconsistent concepts have been just stuck together, sounding to make it look like a "theory". The target audience is more captivated merely by the way of presentation..
    Unfortunate!

Anyone who submits to the knowledge will understand. What i mean when i say submit is... if you are trying to understand by yourself, (I don't believe anyone to teach me what my ancestors have written Thousands of years ago... because humans/gurus these days have their own biases. It is next to impossible for many to find unbiased gurus in present times. As a Hindu everyone is having their own moral compass. Which when we tune based on our ancestors way of thinking, it will always guide us towards the truth even without gurus. But one should not become delusional in the learning process. That is the only requirement. From childhood you might have come across few children who no matter how someone teaches them, they will not understand anything. only 2 possible explanations for it, either teaching process is wrong or Child's is not able to learn because of his brain's ability. Maybe over time he might or might not learn.) remove all influences you might have till this point. Allow your mind to think from their perspective, till you finish learning and understanding. Keep connecting the dots. I hope you have enough understanding of our ancestors unbiased, unrestricted ways of thinking and approaching a problem to solve. If you are sincerely and genuinely trying to learn and understand, keep anger aside and allow your eye of wisdom to reach... that level of understand and world view. You will find your peace at some point. As our ancestors said, "Question and that is the way to the truth." But i will add... at the same time invest enough time to find and understand the answer. Our Culture is not for lazy minds, its dynamic nature humbles anyone, when they understand it.

I think knowing and practicing is different. We can know all about the Vedas, what it is and what it says etc. if we read books, especially the books that are the lectures of Acharya of Kanchi Mutt i.e. Mahaperiyava. In fact, Sinu Joseph quotes and takes support for her work from what Mahaperiyava has said. If we strictly go by what she is saying, that women cannot learn the Vedas, then she couldn't have written this book without knowing what the various Vedas and Samhitas contain. You can read the 'Voice of God' book which contains all of Mahaperiyava's teachings. He says everything one needs to know to get an understanding of the Vedas. But knowing doesn't mean one can practice it. That is what Sinu Joseph wants to tell us. She has written even more elaborately what is the path that is prescribed for women, because that is her research interest. What does spirituality mean for women. So there is a two volume book detailing it called Sthree Dharma Paddatihi. It is huge and detailed. But before she released this work, she wanted to clarify why the Vedas take this stance of excluding the Sudra Varna and women from learning Vedas. So for that purpose she released the Varna Vidya.
I can understand how it must feel to hear what she says for I also felt upset and let down. But all she is saying is to follow the path that is most apt for us to get the best results in this spiritual life. And for women and Sudra Varna, it is Saranagati or surrender to the Lord.
Of course, one may debate how many of the Brahmins are actually Brahmins when they don't even do the basic Sandhyavandhana. In fact Mahaperiyava also says, if Sandhyavandhanam has not been performed for three consecutive generations, then they lose the brahminhood status. There are lot of technicalities involved in how one may lose the tri-varnika status and become a sudra. However, this doesn't affect what Sinu Joseph is saying which is that one can never ascend to a higher Varna in this birth. He may exhibit qualities of a Brahmana Varna, but the biological reality doesn't change and he remains a Sudra. Whereas, the opposite is definitely possible i.e. a brahmana becoming a sudra because of not following his austerities.
So there is much sense to what she is saying. Don't they say that in Kali Yuga, it is bhakti yoga alone which will take us close to God, and there is no need for any tough austerities like in the other yugas? I think it is in line with this biological reality of Varna Dharma that Sinu Joseph is saying. Brahmins don't follow their Kula dharma, instead take up material occupations and go after money, and thereby they lose the status of Brahmin. So in the Kali Yuga, we will see mostly only the Sudra Varna as time progresses. And for Sudra Varna, the prescribed path is Saranagathi (Nyasa Vidya). This is not Bhakthi Yoga like Sinu Joseph is saying. I think she has got the names confused here about Nyasa Vidya/Saranagathi being Bhakthi Yoga. Actually Bhakthi Yoga is for the tri-varnika. It is Nyasa Vidya that is for Sudra and Women.
And as Kali Yuga progresses, human kind will only deteriorate further. So falling from the higher Varna to a lower Varna in the same birth will happen. But ascending to a higher Varna will never happen in this birth! So we see things getting worse and worse in Kali, before Kalki comes and brings us back to Satya Yuga.
