Great review, looking forward to mine when it comes. Think they missed the trick on the battle damage mask, why is only the mask damaged? If you have to swap out the torso then the battle damage could have been extended onto the suit.
I won't disagree that some rips on the shirt would have looked good...but, then, why no damage on the pants? ;) Thanks for watching, and hope yours arrives safe and sound!
For me this is easily the best spiderman there is, and not just because i've got it coming in.. not having to convince myself of that, so happy with what Iv'e seen in this review... the pose couldn't be better, just hoping the black lines on mine are done well, that's the only real critique i picked up - congrats and great review! I wonder when the rest are due to ship!
Yeah, the lines are not terrible...pretty similar to most other Spider-Man licensed pieces. As long as you don't expect perfection there, you'll be fine, because it displays really well.

💥Wow, Looks awesome... The only problem I have with it is the fact they included Doc Ock Tentacles 😬 Why? I ordered the XM Studios Doc Ock and I think it looks weird to have a Doc Ock with all his arms next to a Spider-Man statue with extra tentacles...🙄 I wish they would would have given people the option of replacing the tentacles with someing else. I'd prefer Spidey swinging out a building flying through a window 😁 If you don't have the Doc Ock next to it, this is a great statue. The XM Studios quality is just outstanding 👍 Great review !

I think Spidey can go together with Doc Oc just fine. None of the Spider-Man line have a consistent theme to them, they are really stand alone pieces. I view it as a museum gallery of the Spider-Man universe. That said, if you're looking to create a larger diorama, then you're right...Doc would need 6 tentacles!

Yes, I still have it (you can see it in the background of all my more recent videos). I quite like the piece, but I am not sure I would put it in my top 5 XM pieces, though...that's a tough top 5 to crack, ;-)

Great video, is it a problem the red tone (too much brilliant maybe) of the payment job?, maybe more shadow in the payment would be better (like the PF Sideshow)?
Paint style is really personal preference. Paint quality (clean lines etc) on this one is as good as most other Spider-Man statues...there is some bleeding along the web lines of the suit. But, as far as colours/shading, that's really up to the individual collector to decide if they like it. This piece is pretty similar to the old Sideshow comiquette in terms of the overall paint job...if you liked that one, you should be ok with this one.

Congrats B! Lovey piece... base looks a little weird to me but love the pose. Classic Spidey pose. Love the paint tone. What are your thoughts on the upcoming SS Spidey PF? I know you saw it at SDCC this year. I have a feeling they will bring a Doc Oc PF soon to pair with this. As always love your reviews... so well done.
I think the new PF looks pretty good. I preferred the portrait with the big eyes better, which I did not think I would based on the product photos. The paint was a little flat, but overall not a bad Spidey.
I would love to see Sideshow take on Doc Oc. My most wanted villain is Hobgoblin...a 1/4 PF would be great!
Bmutha Reviews yeah that’s my issue.... I previously bought the older SS Spidey PF and returned it as I thought the paint was a bit dull. XMs paint pops just enough.
Thanks for the great review! I find Spidey's pose to be an odd choice on this one. Of all the dynamic Spiderman poses to choose from, why go with this rather boring one where it looks like he's riding an invisible horse? That battle damage portrait is on fire though.
I like the pose, but I understand that not everyone does. Spider-Man is such an important character, and everyone has an idealized version of what they want to see. The good thing is, it's Spider-Man, so you know there will always be more offerings down the line. Thanks for watching!

Almost PO’ed this just because: XM and Spider-Man, I’m a huge fan of both. But didn’t because no matter how much I’ve tried to convince myself I just can’t “get” the pose on this.
I mean, I see what they might have been going for, kinda, but it just looks super awkward. Such a shame. Still glad to see it in your collect for us to admire... thank you

I’m currently can’t decide if I should get this statue or the New Sideshow PF, they both have the Mc Farlane eyes which I like, but in your opinion which would you say might be the better statue? I know that the price is a factor, but do you think both statues will hold up their value down the road? Also great review,
Personally, I prefer this one to the Sideshow PF, but both are nice. I found the paints a bit flat on the PF when I saw it, and I prefer the pose on the XM. Likely neither will hold value, that's just the way the market is these days.
They look a lot alike to me and we pre-ordered both....hmmmm might need to rethink this one.
Love your channel but I have a question that has nothing to do with this video...should I buy the Sideshow Flash? You saw it in person and I trust your opinion.
I did like what I saw at SDCC. One critique is that the arms look a bit long, but in person, that is less noticeable...and they're not freakishly long. The concern is the pose, and how it will hold up because he is connected only under his one foot. I'm sure Sideshow has planned that out, though.
At the end of the day, I prefer it to the Prime 1 Flash, so that makes it the best 1/4 Flash available, imo. It's a Daniel Bel piece, so you know it will look amazing, and there isn't that much to screw up in terms of paint or complex pieces.
I'd say go for it...worst case scenario, return it.

I went with the SS PF. I found XM Studio's Spider-Man pose to be awkward. And the web is too white. A bit of translucency would have improved it. The red and blue colors are bit too bright for me. I prefer the darker, matte tone of the SS. The base is amazing, though.
Plenty of Spidey options out there so we can all get the one we like best!
Great Review, would u say he is real Quater Scale? He looks kinda small but maybe its just because of the pose.
Yes, I actually did measure him and he seems appropriately sized. Remember that Spider-Man is small (under 6 ft, well under 200 lb.). That said, I believe he may look a bit small next to some of the other XM pieces because they are so big (Venom, Lizard, Mysterio etc.). Next to Electro, Scorpion, Carnage, he should look good.
Nice piece, this is the best Spider-Man statue ever made until the PCS one comes out.
IMO Iron Studios kills this, at least in terms of looks. It's a b*** to connect all the parts though and it barely holds together.
I agree. I still love the Hand Spring Spidey PF as well.
The PCS Spider-Man is very nice. If that were a classic suit, I would buy it without hesitation. The PS4 suit looks good, don't get me wrong, but display space is at such a premium these days! Thanks for watching.
Completely agree with your comments about being limited in terms of heights he can be displayed at, his head is snapped back a bit too much for my liking. Colours, base and the way they've connected the figure to the base while still allowing so much separation are great though!
I find that the damaged portrait doesn't look up as much. Is that just me?
You could be right...I think the angle of his head is slightly different on the damaged mask.

Yes, it's a totally unique Spidey. I've seen the Sideshow PF (I assume you mean the newest one) a few times...it's ok, but it's not my preference.

That's a great Spidey, I have that one as well (it's actually the statue in my collection that I have owned the longest).
Got mine yesterday. Pretty cool however, on mine his leg does not fit flush against the base like yours does.
Were you able to get your leg all the way in?
@@StatueBossProductions Nope. Emailed X-M and although they were nice, they were less than helpful. I also found a crack in the piece and I am still waiting for an answer if that is going to be replaced. It is the tail of the smoke from pumpkin bomb.

which Sideshow Comiquette do you have? the J. Scott Campbell one or the 1/4 scale one? Ive got the new SS PF Daredevil and Elektra and the Iron Studios Punisher all displayed together like a diorama and my goal is one day to get the larger SS Comiquette and put those 3 pieces on risers and have Spidey Comiquette below them so it looks like he is on the wall of the building that Punisher or Daredevil are on the roof of, i have Elektra already on a riser behind DD and Punisher so that all 3 of their feet are level
Actually, I have owned both of the comiquettes, but I was speaking of the "1/4" scale version (which I still own). That Spidey is actually a tad oversized, he may make DD and friends look a bit small. But, if you keep him on a lower level like you plan, it should look great.
@@StatueBossProductions thanks for the heads up thats good to know, ive always heard he might be closer to 1/3.5...my plan was to keep him lower than the other 3 but not like on a lower shelf or anything, more like the top of the wall on the spidey statue would be touching or very close to touching the bottom of the Daredevil base
Do you know if you can display this piece without the two pumpkin bombs? Do any visible holes show if you do that? Thanks.
The lower bomb comes off, the upper one is permanently attached. The hole where the lower bomb attaches is on the underside, so it would not be very visible.

Probably around retail price.
I actually dig the Iron Studios Spidey a bit more. Unfortunately I think the Iron Studios has quality issues.
Once it's all set up, the Iron Studios Spider-Man does look fantastic.

Could be. It's all a matter of personal taste. My two favourite red suit Spider-Man statues are this one and the old Sideshow comiquette.

Excellent channel, sub-par statue. Comes across cheap looking on camera.
The sand on the base has a gigantic seam. The Sideshow Thor has some seams in the lava, but it's so incredibly detailed (and the pieces are delicate, so I can see why it's broken up). The sand, on the other hand, should just have been a part of the mold. That seam is ugly.
Yep, definitely a seam there. Part of the sand is on the base, and part is on the column (which are two separate pieces). If XM was intent on having the sand "climbing' the column, a seam somewhere in there was unavoidable.
Part of the reason they did it this way, I believe, is that the sand attached to the column forms part of the key that prevents the column from rotating. I agree that there probably were other ways to achieve the anti-rotation...but, it is what it is.
Maybe the lights, but the red on Spidey looks glossy. It’s picking up a lot of shine which looks off. 🤷🏻♂️
I thought that too... but pretty sure its just very bright studio lighting, if you look at any of the recent con footage all of the colours are much more toned down and natural. ERven still, I love the colours either way but hope its not too 'glossy' as you say.
The suit is not glossy or metallic, but it is smooth (non-textured), so it does reflect light. That may be why you're seeing a glossy appearance.
The webs on this are the worst I have ever seen on a Spiderman statue.Its like there were done by a 10year old.Sideshow or Bowen has never dropped the ball like this I know cause I own almost all of them.Its to bad because the sculpt is nice and the concept is ambitious.
I can’t think of a Sideshow Spider-Man that has webs...
*nvm...the newest one has them. Honestly not a fan of that PF, though.
