  • Moving to Italy from the EU can present various opportunities to individuals at many stages of life; from working in Italy all the way to retiring to Italy for a taste of the Italian lifestyle. Relocating to Italy from the EU for citizens of the European Union can be quite straightforward but it is still important to make sure to complete the various steps in the process for a finalized relocation. In this episode of the Italian Real Estate Podcast hosts Marco Permunian, an Italian attorney, along with a video podcaster and dual citizen expat, Rafael Di Furia, known for his project Not Your Average Globetrotter, ‪@RafaelDiFuria‬, go over the process of moving to Italy as an EU citizen.

Nowadays anybody can get the tax code without stating a reason. I'm not sure about the consulates and such but if you show up at an Agenzia delle Entrate office, they'll assign one for you and they even have the application form in dozen different languages.
Personally I got mine months before I decided to stay because I wanted to get an Italian SIM with a subscription, providing faster Internet connection without a data cap. At the time prepaids were limited.

    Thank you that was interesting.
What about europeans who work in Italy remotely for home country?
Possible to work untill 90 days without any registrations? If that more than 90 days, what that person should apply for?

I have a French permanent resident permit.
Does moving to Italy apply to those who are not French, but have the permit I do?
If so, can I import my household goods and drive my car there which is registered in France?
What about health care in Italy? I have health care in France, so I assume I must register.

If you're an EU citizen and have non-residence in Italy and also own an Italian property you stay in when visiting Italy (and do not rent this property) can you stay in Italy for 80 days in this property leave for 50 days then return for another 89 days for example as a non-resident ........or are their limitations on how many days an EU citizen can stay in Italy during a calendar year as a non-resident.?Thanks.

If you are an eu citizen you can travel freely and stay for as much as you like in another EU country. However if you plan on staying for more than 90 days you should register as a resident (if you don’t, you can’t access the services that are only available to residents)
