Hi, I'm the author of PDF++. Thanks a lot for sharing this great tutorial, which is comprehensive and concise at the same time! Let me comment on a few things: - You can add highlight colors from the "+" button right next to the "Highlight colors" setting. - The auto-paste command is planned to be removed in the near future, so please use the command "Copy link to selection or annotation" with the auto-paste toggle (located in the left ribbon menu) turned on. - Context menus can be screen-captured by going to Settings > Appearance > Advanced and disabling the "Native menus" option. I will take a look at the Hover Editor issue. Thanks for bringing my attention to it. Thanks again for your great job!
The *only* thing left for this plugin to do that it seems *no one can do* is allow obsidian to know when the *actual* page one is in a large textbook / reference book so that page numbers are accurate; even if you could manually (a) tell obsidian where page 1 of a textbook is and (b) tell obsidian that a journal article starts at page 233 it would be great. Zotero sort of does it but never gets it right and wont transfer those details to obsidian no matter how hard I try. Your plugin helps me complete my Masters at university
@@CaptZenPetabyte In fact, you can already do it with PDF++ (if I understand you correctly)! Enable PDF editing and run the command "Edit page labels". See also the documentation page for page labels.
@@ryotaushio3106 thank you for the reply, I shall have to take a look this weekend when I have a moment. What an incredible thing you have done for the community!!!
Yet again you bring us another great plugin Prakash. You are the best on UA-cam at finding and presenting really useful plugins that make using Obsidian better and better. This one is a real game changer for many I am sure. I did have to play this video on 0.75 speed, as you did seem to rush through it :-). I can't wait to try this out. Thank you.
Thank you for this comprehensive review-it's a very helpful plugin. Just a question: Is there a search function, and how do I go about configuring the plugin so that I can search a word in a PDF and zero in on a specific chapter or section? I'm looking forward to some advice.
I have faced issues in Obsidian where it gets stuck when opening multiple large books (PDF). Considering Obsidian was not natively built to process PDFs, I switched to Zotero. Does the PDF++ plugin improve performance of Obsidian in handling PDFs?
you have to delete the note which is copied to your markdown file. Highlights only appear if they are linked somewhere in your reference note. Therefore highlights also disapear if you delete the link reference.
Hey, in working with PDFs on Obsidian, I have noticed that the application crashes when opening multiple large PDFs (>1000 pages). On the Obsidian community page and Reddit, people recommend using another app (Zotero) since Obsidian is not a proper PDF engine. Will this plugin or any other plugin help with that issue in Obsidian?
I just installed the plugin and I think it's very bad that you have to copy every links individually. For me this is not usable it should be like this that the righthand panel should update All highlights without interrupting your work flow. Also I didn't like that you have to press an extra button or even two buttons to highlight a section it should be just left click and it should highlight.

could you make an updated version of this? the plugin has so many new features. Would appreciate a lot!
Thank you for your kind sharing!!!
I get "No appropriate version found" when I click to install.
But this PDF++ plugin is future proof? If the plugin stops working, how can I manage my notes?
Thanks for sharing this plugin! So finally obsidian has the pdf backlink feature as logseq! The cons is not from official.
Can I know what theme for this obsidian note you are using? It looks really good!
which plugin is that in the lower left corner? @14:08
How do I copy just a link to the PDF highlight?
I don't know why I can't get the right whiteboard to show up when I open it?

After installing the plugin PDF++, the item "Copy link to selection" is disabled. Do you happen to know why?
Will the links remain functional if I move the PDFs?
Thank you, very helpful
Could you please make a video how to get the same obsidian look and theme you used in the video
Will make one for sure. Its border theme. You can check it
