      It also breaks surface tension of the resin which helps cut down on any surface bubbles if you aren't pressure casting or anything like that. Dusting molds is really common in prop / costume making.

    Comment for the algorithm. Additionally, if you read this, that bait WILL swim, but you would have to "carve" the tail to get rid of the paddle and get it something slimmer. Or cut the tail off completely and add a rear spinner/treble.

    Awesome video guys. Out of respect for mold makers. I would never use resin to replicate somebody else's molds. You guys work wayyy to hard to make your molds and I want to respect that. Also there is going to be a noticeable difference between a bait made with your CNCed mold and a silicone replica.but like you said, Its a great thing to know, especially if you want to make a mold of your own design. We love seeing the videos guys.

    don't know if it helps on these or not but you can also use a plastic syringe to inject resin, I started this on silicone molds as sometimes I had issues with just pouring the resin. Atleast the resin I use doesn't stick on the syringe walls and I can just remove it from the back of the syringe after it cures.

    This would be handy if you had line tie inserts for a crankbait that can go into the mold.... it may float super fast unless there also was a lead insert, and may not make any noise, but many successful crankbaits have no beads either. Very cool..

    1. Nice to see that Tom Keen has found a job after Blacklist
    2. Pls Drill a thin hole through the length of the bait in the center (from mouth to 'hip') cut of the tail, put it back in the mold, close the mold and press some of the jelly Plastik that you normally use through the bait. So a new tail is being created that is able to wobble.
    I hope you understand my idea.

    Pretty sure u can use almost any 2part epoxy for this if you want too (after mixing the epoxy blow on it with a heatgun to make it very "runny?" onstead of stiff then pour it in)
    And yes not for your ordinary softbait molds would be more fit for crankbaits

    Take a old Pressure cooker, or buy a used one for dental labs (or new) instal in the lid a tire valve stem and a pressure gauge (look up a lab cooker on the web) Place mould filled with resin, and apply 20 lbs of air ,like filling a tire. Release pressure and open when cured and no bubbles

  • @rallyfeind
    @rallyfeind 3 роки тому

    If you wanted to do a two pour of soft and hard the mold could be modified from the type you have shown. Making the "leak spot" the second pouring sprue and adding a tail insert that restricts the mold for the hard pour to be removed after cure but before the soft pour. I would suggest that you shape a spine or tang of sorts into the insert. This would increase the surface area of bonding potential between the two medium.
    I hope this is functional enough to give you some ideas.
    I also realize that makes it a 2 pour and 5 step process that may be more headache than two molds and a bonding solution afterwards.
