All this really helps a lot but the chord part, I just can't get the rhythm. Do you strum 3 times? I even slowed it down and I still somehow can't get it
Short scale bass + active EMG PA pickup. Short scale basses are pretty midsy, and the pickup placement (close to middle of body, not right by neck or right by bridge) further helps with the midsiness. Personally, I like the way it sounds. It was a pretty cheap project all things considered. 180 for the bass and 100 for the pickup. However, if you're interested in doing a project like this, I would not recommend the Ibanez Mikro. It's just too small (28" scale), which is why I don't really play that bass anymore. I would go with the Ibanez Mezzo instead, or some other 30" scale bass.
So hit an open string, or a harmonic, or any note that can be sustained without being fretted. Then before the note dies, with one hand, grab the neck close to the headstock, near the first fret. With your other hand, grab the body of your bass. The upper horn is probably the best place to grab the body. Then push the neck away from you and the body toward you at the same time. This bends the neck and puts less tension on the strings, giving it the tremolo effect. I've heard this isn't the healthiest thing to do to guitars, so I wouldn't do it on an expensive instrument.
Sgt. Baker used to buy Marlboro reds on the reguiar at the gas station where I worked. Seriously, the actor. Lee Ermey. And thanks for the lesson.
