The effects of patriarchy in society can easily be seen in the way women are treated. However, having lived in these circumstances for countless years, not everyone can see such manifestations easily. The author experienced these first. Her frustration with the system within which she was born was directed outwards as anger and stubbornness, traits valued in men yet resulted in doctor’s consultations for her. It can be hard to swallow, but we live in a male. Not all of us can understand the impacts of half our population being oppressed and dispossessed. Many think that it’s just the way the world works, and those who disagree are punished. We all want to be wanted, to be cherished, and have people that care.
