A pair of days ago I have been there, and what can I say... this looks so true! This is an awsome play! So many touches on symptoms that often aren't showed so much through (normally it is light to cough or to sneeze) but this play has many accurate details
I used to watch this specific scene several times when coming home from work from a particularly difficult job and Emily Blunt’s tone was so perfectly desperate, exhausted, and determined. We’ve all been there lol.
@@kaheaisaac1 Yeah you see all the makeup she has on for the role? That was intentional, and her choice to go really big on the makeup. She also performed it more mature for the character, which was meant to be in her late 20s, and gave the character a more uppity and desperate personality alongside the accent, which also makes the character come off as older and more humorously unpleasant but also pitiful. She talked about that in interviews.
@@zziniopYeah same. I’ve done it loads of times when I’ve been sick with something else that I didn’t want to discuss. It’s easier to just pretend you have a cold. 😉😀
Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway just did a Variety “Actors on Actors” interview where they spent most of the 45 minute interview reminiscing about this movie. It was hilarious hearing the stories. They’re both lovely ladies
They get on so well, I haven't seen that interview, but I did watch them on lip sync battle, and they were both EPIC!!! Anne Hathaway really _threw_ herself into that battle!😂 iykyk😂
Just so you know, some people are actually living like that, working over 50 hours a week in a low paying jobs with no job security and very few leaves, so they have to constantly remind themselves that they love their job.
Empathizing hard with Blunt's character. So many times I've told coworkers I'm busy, sick, tired, etc. and somehow they've interpreted that as an invitation for a conversation...no...shut up.
You are right. She was playing the not likeable character so it fits 😂 fact is when you are unhappy and complaining you sometimes just want to be unhappy and suffering and not hear a happy story from someone else. Had this mood a couple of time where my collegue was gushing how happy she was while I had a headache and didn't want to hear it more than once. Sure I was less rude but it's still an everyday situation.
@HHHatshepsutHer problem was work related. She's had a very important work engagement and a bad cold. There are times you have to discuss your work problems with your coworkers in order to work then out.
I was so impressed by Emily Blunt though she was playing a non-lead character that I had to google her up to see who she was & what she had done so I coukd watch it. Amazing actress.
When I see a colleague at work like that, and they tell ME to go home.. There is NO WAY I’m going! Gurl go take sick leave and rest! If you can’t go find somewhere to lie down, I’ll cover for you!
The amount of times I say ‘I love my job, I love my job, I love my job’ on the daily is wild. I actually do love my job but sometimes it’s easy to forget why 😂😂
The amount of times I repeat Emily’s defeated “I love my job” mantra on any given work day…

Blunt said her line about “I’m hearing this…” actually came from a convo she overheard. Mom talking w her kid in the supermarket!

Really I thought she looked a lot older. I always loved her style and look in this movie.

So like everyone living in NYC
Everyone who watches this film knows that because the film’s main plot line is literally that
