    Unbelievable how much Paddy and Andrew have improved. Congrats to Luke for shutting out the distractions and getting on with the job. I hope he works out the family situation at least to the point where everyone involved can be civil to one another and I hope he'd able to keep fit and have a great season. Thanks for the commentary as usual.

      Tbh, he moved his sidepiece in immediately. I very much doubt it will ever be civil - he probably needs to start being a decent human being first.

    Andy Black had absolutely no business being there when it was known that he barely trained you had athletes like Rauri O'Hagan and Matt McKegan who are fit and ready to go and gives Ireland more representation

    Luke has been at his absolute best these last few years. Won his first Euros at like 36? 2nd at 39 and now Britain's at 40. Most people are retiring at this age and he's at his best.

    • @devlin76
      @devlin76 6 днів тому +7

      If I remember correctly, it was only five or six years ago that Luke was able to quit his day job (working half the year out on an oil rig), and therefore started training full-time for strongman.

    • @Nolan-55
      @Nolan-55 6 днів тому +4

      @devlin76 ya, it's crazy to think that half his career, or longer, was held back by that. That's the reality of the sport for so many competitors but definitely sucks.

      Honestly, I've never seen Luke Stoltman in better shape, basically dominating the whole show with a 6 point lead over 2nd. And they were not easy events nor was it an easy line up. Luke came in leaner, faster and stronger than ever before. He put in serious work to prepare for this show and has reaped the rewards. The fact that he did this at 40 years of age too is nuts

    • @greenwendal5056
      @greenwendal5056 5 днів тому +3

      @@dylanbrowne559 I think he and Tom said in one of his videos that he probably has a couple more years left. Think the video was like a year or so ago. He really needs to make the most of it. Father time waits for no one. Leaving a legacy on the sport for sure.

    I’ve got a lot of time for Shane Flowers. Great to see the fear lifted off his face with the bicep troubles and if he can keep this momentum going and stay safe he’s on for a great year.

    The underdogs stole the show even though the pace was out of this world. Its great that its running so smoothly but even as fans, needing time to go to the toilet/grab drinks can be tricky at this kind of pace. Im sure they'll get it right though, improving every time

    • @stevee8920

      Why? This was a strongman contest, not a judge somebody for something none of us know anything about. There are two sides to every story, none of us know what goes on behind closed doors. What we think we know has come from Kushi, I don’t condone, but I also don’t condemn. Why did Kushi air their dirty laundry in public other than to ruin Luke’s reputation, there was nothing else to gain from it. Luke hasn’t said anything, which for all the keyboard warriors means he’s guilty as charged. I’m there to watch feats of strength, Luke at 40 smashed it, he is now the reigning Europes Strongest Man and now Britains. There was no shadow over the event because Luke competed in it, it maybe an issue for you, but we see an image and assume we know everything about their lives. We don’t, I am sure there are a lot of skeletons in everyone’s cupboards. I will judge Luke as a strongman and that’s it and at 40 he is probably the best he’s been in a long time, maybe he’s had a huge weight lifted from his shoulders. Like I said there are 2 sides to every story and maybe Luke is just keeping his side to himself. Which he has every right to do as it’s none of our business

    With all the nonsense and distractions swirling around, Luke Stoltman showed up and won gold. The man keeps winning big shows when you don't expect him to. He's securing a legacy for himself that will keep him from being known as Tom Stoltman's brother. If he podiums at WSM...wow. I think it might be good for him to do a long interview with someone to clear the air and re-connect with fans who have written him off. You're a friend of his, Pa, so maybe you're the guy to conduct the interview...I'm sure he trusts you after you defended him when the Mark Boyd taped phone message was released...

      That Mark Boyd thing was real low. Didn't he release it just before a big comp too? You have to cut these two faced people out of your lives. I've known loads over the years. Fake friends.

      Nice try. I still respect Luke, but he is very much Tom's brother. He would have to actually beat Tom in a comp not win titles Tom doesn't enter or magically fail stones as the best stone lifter of the last ten years.

      They both dislike Luke's actions, so does Mitch etc also - all publicly stated as much. He also did commit some smaller level things, such as threatening a local citizen and demanding that his boss fire him for daring to tell Luke some home truths when not in work.
      No redemption for him I'm afraid. Maybe he'll brand his multiple affairs as a mental health episode for people to keep drinking the kool aid. 🙂
