    Hi Sweet Friends, Here in Part 2, I share how I strain out the herbs and decant the syrup. And I share a tip as to what to do with the herbs so that you don't have to throw them out! You know me, I never like to waste anything! Love, Mary

    Hi Mary :-D
    I don't remember if I shared this with you or not ... One day, I made some green beans for my mom, and was thinking about what I could sweeten them with. I saw my garlic/onion/honey ferment sitting there, and thought: "hmm... I wonder how this would taste?" Mom LOVED IT!!! What I find truly amazing is ... we ferment these herbs/spices in honey for coughs/colds with herbs/spices we would normally cook with. Different combinations used in a different way. Kitchen science is FUN!!! LOL!
    Love & prayers

    I LOVE your cardinal apron! Is it available for sale. The Cardinal was a special creature between my oldest son (55) and his Great-GrandMother McClung. I try to bring a smile to his face with something Cardinal. They were quite a pair. GrandMother had a pair of Cardinals in her yard that always built their nest outside her kitchen windows in her very thorny Pyracantha shrubs. (You know they always mate for life) Every Spring they could watch the babies hatch and eventually fly away. Such a delight ❤️

    Hi Mary🙋🏾‍♀️ does the infused honey have to go in the refrigerator? I'm thinking of making this but would rather have it room temperature. Not only for easy of use but also for comfort on the throat. Thanks for sharing this remedy.😊

    Hi Mary! Great videos - thanks for making them. I was wondering if the leftover honey/herb mixture could be kept in a jar in the refrigerator, instead of freezing it?

      Of course. Just need to use it sooner. Take a Tbsp at a time.

    Hi Mary. Is it necessary to keep your honey infused garlic blend in the fridge? I have left mine on the counter for a few months but I have 2 1/2 quarts of it. I want to be prepared!

    Thanks for the great video. Will watch both videos and order from your links. We are using Elderberry syrup, and so far, no colds. Will order ingredients and get this made up for when we eventually do get a bad cough. Thanks! I'd also like an affiliate link to use for that round tea steeper. Need to order that too (and a few large mugs). Any way to help support you!

      Lotz Home & Office - So happy that you liked this video. It is kind of you to offer to order from my links but also check the prices at Mountain Rose Herbs and see who has the best prices. Sometimes they are out of stock, so I turn to Amazon. But I do like Starwest Botanicals too - that are sold on Amazon. But compare prices so that you get the best deal. Also, you do not need Lemon Thyme if it is hard to find. You can also use regular thyme. You Can always add a little lemon juice into your spoon when you’re ready to take the cough medicine. Be sure to visit my website
      marysnest.com where you can print out all the instructions for making this. How did the elderberry syrup go? Love, Mary❤️😘❤️

    Hi Mary,
    I am wondering if dried herbs would work for like a soothing tea. I want to use dried honey, dried ginger and dried lemons. Mix them together then add hot water when you need a soothing tea. I can't always get to the store to get fresh ginger, and when I need it I don't feel like driving....thanks!

    Hi. How long does this last in the pantry and how do you take it? Once a day twice a day, etc.

    • @MarysNest
      @MarysNest  5 років тому

      Elizabeth Horne - Hi Elizabeth, Thanks so much for visiting. Whenever I make something like this, I refrigerate it. And given that it is refrigerated, I like to think that it stays “effective” for about 6 months. I usually take it by the teaspoonfuls as needed. If you go to my website, MarysNest DOT com (the link should be in the description under the video), I have more information about this. BTW - Do you enjoy making traditional foods? I have a playlist of my videos titled "Mastering the Basics of Traditional Nutrient Dense Foods Cooking". It's a series of 15 detailed videos that covers How to Make Bone Broth, Cultured Dairy, Ferments, Sourdough Starter (my foolproof stater), Sourdough Bread, and How to Soak and Sprout Grains to Make your own Sprouted Flour at Home. You could leave out on the counter, a bit to use, if youre sick. Chill the rest. Take out a bit more as needed while sick.
