- Finally get to show you guys some dom6 footage, so what better way to start off than a "short" top 10 list. I've got so much to talk about that its hard to stay on topic!
I'll have lots more dom6 content in the coming weeks!

I hadn't seen that new faction list. It's cool that Ind's vassal nations became their own factions in LA.
Glamour has an Evocation 5 spell that projects the caster's image into a battle allowing them to partake and cast spells but from the comfort of their own sofa. Incredibly interesting and cool spell!
That would be good for those dangerous but powerful short range spells and the squishy mages that cast them

I love the way Kobolds are introduced. From reading the lore, Illwinter clearly knows the link between the metal 'Cobalt' and Kobolds...
That Swamp transformation for C'tis is pretty darn fast, if the whole area turns into swamps by turn 22; that means even if you kill them quickly, you still get left with a whole region of swamps after killing them, a la Lemuria land being depopulated.
Lol, so now you get a hickey from C'Tis not only in form of diseased commanders, but also a huge f-off swamp that was their former lands you'll now have to trudge through till the end of the game? That's just so Dominions...
You're doing Pantokrator's work, Lucid! My hype for Dom6 just doubled.
I have been waiting for this for over a year so I could get back into Dominions. Looking forward to playing MP again.
what sucks is the price of 40$ for what should of been dlc its still 75% the same game its really sad but this is how its always been

@@whitefox25 with all the changes there is no way that this should be a simple DLC. DLC are Downloadeable CONTENT. Tons of changes to the game systems etc, Dom6 has a lot of programming changes that you would not get in a DLC
i have yet to find a list of all these changes people mention. minor and small ui changes and things do not count as major lol@@eMbry00s

I'm glad someone else realises quite how important diplo in single player is.
I think it'll drastically improve the game for the 95% of people who never go near a MP game and this is gonna sell the game big time.

I love Dominions 5 and the only BIG bad reason was that you can only really play against an AI, because playing in multiplayer is huge pain and takes anywhere from several weeks to several months. And also if you're not ready to min-max and test absolutely everything you will be crushed hard in multiplayer anyways. So, yeah, it was pretty much singleplayer for me and it felt a bit lacking with no diplomacy.
But now I am hyped, gonna buy Dom6 tommorow. And hopefully they also implemented some more in-depth AI changes - like more smart casting, more smart builds and blessings, etc.

I'd still like to see the dom 5 content like the finals and the meme games - although I agree that likely dom6 content will be "more interesting" in the immediate aftermath of release. But hopefully the dom 5 stuff still sees the light of release.

I vote to release all your Dom 5 content b/c 1) your content is fun to watch, and 2) even though it seems like some of the mechanics have changed, the way of solving problems is likely very similar.
Admitting you didn't prep properly and then still talking for a solid hour about the the thing you're interested in is how I conduct all my business. Very interesting video, super interested in learning more about the factions!

Diplomacy missing was one of the big reasons I did not like playing Dominions. I'm glad they have added it.
I think multiplayer would benefit from having that option as well, just as a way to communicate. You could use it to propose NAPs and stuff, and as long as the game doesn't actually enforce the NAPs everything is fine, it's just easier to communicate between players. And easier to remember who you have NAPs with, and easier for a sub to know what the situation was... there's a few benefits there.
Yeah its an option for MP too - you can have it enforce agreements or not.

Lucid, this means you need to cover MA Ermor, Asphodel, Lemuria, Theoderos, and every other pop kill nation again for us.
Asphodel are way better now, their freespawn is far better and way more frequent, and yeah... if you like those guys you're gonna be happy I think.

I would say release what you think is most interesting from the games you've been playing out of Dominions 5.
You don't have to release everything, but if you had a game or two you thought were neat that would be cool.

That land lost ability feels like a pretty strong buff to UW nations like EA Ryleh
Yeah though 100 earth gems is quite expensive (as it should be for such a disruptive and powerful effect)

Only just got to try it out today, here are a couple things not mentioned in this video that I think are amazing changes that are maybe a bit under the radar:
1. auto site searching -- no more microing low level mages around the map looking for level 1 or 2 sites.
2. the bless points are no longer specific to the magic, IE: you can now have more than 10 points in death/earth/etc blesses. A level 3 astral mage with level 2 in death and level 2 in fire could get both spirit sight and magic weapons, for example. I'm sure this will lead to some niche builds
3. new map gen with map types you can choose from
1 and 3 are both exciting features for me because I mostly play the game single player.
I only play agartha. happy to hear about cold blooded changes. cold resist change was a no brainer

So glad I played the tutorial (Dom 5). Looks like they are pushing specialization and imprisoned gods this time. You can be a rainbow but your god will be asleep for awhile OR you can specalize and get started right now.

Holy crow, terraforming is going to be a terror in the hands of costal factions. If they take something, you ain't getting it back.
It's awesome that we can see the diplomatic status now.
The AI diplomacy has been there as long as i can remember, but it gets a bit vague that far in the past. Probably from Dom1, definitely Dom4.
My main observation is that in single player, aggressive AI tends to be much easier. Defensive AI will still always war you if either are at peace. Aggressive AI will also war the other AI. It may be that getting, or keeping, peace with defensive AI is easier, but usually you end up killing their pretender and no peace anyway.
Gifts to the AI seemed to help peace, but it might be superstition.
Having a larger army in the score graphs seemed to discourage war, and a much smaller army invited it, even from AI otherwise engaged.
I'd love for you to release the Dom 5 content if it was games you were in. I'm not as interested in the one off plays vs AI. So yea, Dom 5 multiplayer or Dom 6 content would be great.

@LucidTactics I'd like to see an additional option like "no more gem useage after the casting list", for mages, since "conservative useage" seems to keep casting gem cost spells that are on the list, even after the list has been cast. Hell, I'd like to see 7 spells possible on the casting list. Would like to see higher % chance for MA ulm smiths to get fire/air/astral since I can buy 8 smiths (like this current run) and not get a single air or astral

Can you do more to guide what mages will cast after turn 5 (ie cast def magic, off magic, buffs etc)? Or is magic casting after the first 5 turns like it was in dom 5?
I’d love the pop changes you mentioned, or really any other major changes as long as the core loop is retained. It can be a largely automated feature even, it starts with the local pop and every turn x% convert to your main pop type with forts increasing this %. From here it’d be possible to have certain races get a discount on certain units when x amount of the local pop has been converted/killed/enslaved.
You know I love that they're changing a lot of the bad stuff and really making an effort to fix some broken nations especially.
I really hope EA Pelagia and the Triton Kings got some love...

DOMINIONS 6 HYYYYPE
The only "sane" pretender for an AI, at least in Dominions 5, is an imprisoned immobile with full scales. The AI doesn't understand that it should keep a mobile deity alive, doesn't understand how to play into its bless and doesn't understand that it should go after a specific global enchantment that synergizes with their paths and their national features.

I understand that to some extent you need to jump the dom6 bandwagon too though.

Hey Lucid - New viewer of the channel. Just saw Dominion 6 was out and haven't played a dominion game before. Just started your beginner series on dom 5. Did you have any plans to make a new beginner guide on 6, or since it seems these games build on each other there is a lot of carry over on knowledge?
Now, the first thing that comes to my mind is running Fear and Dread on sacreds, that could be a fun combo...
Hey lucid! just wanted to add my 2 cents. i know there is alot of incentive to make new player content. And i feel that is what most youtubers will do, and it is great to cater to get more people into this amazing game. But i feel like you are properly one of the best youtubers to do all the "Non-new" player focused content, as you are really in depth on all the moving parts of dominions, and actually know what has changed with a more competitive multiplayer focused perspective. I personally think it could be really cool (also for newer players) to see all the new flashy stuff compared to "how to recruite units" but I'm also very heavily biased. Can't wait for the new game to drop, and immediately join way to many multiplayer games. GL Lucid!
Not sure about the terrain changing stuff, that looks like it could be more annoying than good. The rest of it looks like there's going to be a lot of changes to adjust to. I have some concerns about the balance early on but I guess that's fixable in time.
Is the AI a bit smarter? Doing some basic diplo in single player is great but I hope it plays a bit better too?
I hope they do something interesting Asphodel. Curious to see what LA R’lyeh is like… there is now room to have R’lyeh actually to warp and transform the world around them into strange dreamscape, like C’tis swamp.
