Basically as other people have said they have no “wasted movement” and it gives it that clean indescribable look because the movement and aim are so linked and intricate. I think coming from playing many years of Counter-Strike, it's just second nature that you come to completely stop and aim for head and shoot. Even if you move the slightest while shooting, your bullets will not land 99% of the time in CS, and it's very punishing. Then once you're comfortable with that method, you can mix in with strafe and a bit movement with coming to another complete stop, aim and then shoot for head again. The only time you should be spraying is if the enemy is very close to you; otherwise, it's always better to aim for head and just shoot 1-2 bullets at a time and readjust your aim and do the same again, because it's more efficient to land 2 headshots than 5-10 body or leg shots. Not only does this method conserve your ammo, but it's more about getting your mind to calming down while taking the time to aim and shoot, instead of just shooting and relying on RNG bullets landing headshots. Shroud also mentioned in one of his streams the reason why he uses bigger crosshair is because he doesn't need to focus as hard with his eyes and kind of just pinpoint a general area where enemy's heads are at and shoot at that direction to get a headshot; whereas if you were to use a small dot as your crosshair, sometime you can't even see where your crosshair is and you lose more time trying to focus rather than aiming and shooting.
Counter strike at a higher level has more microstrafing than val. 90% of great aim csgo pros fight the way tenz fights because movement is faster in csgo so microstrafing gives you more of an advantage compared to val.
i think the idea tenz is implying is that CSGO movement habits doesn't flavor in Val, csgo moves faster and you HAVE TO hit a counter movement key to counterstrafe while moving at full speed. However, in Val, the movement is slower, so when you let go of the key, it will instantly come to a complete stop, whereas if you hit an opposite movement key to try to counter-strafe might cause you to move extra to opposite direction(if the timing isn't right) which causes messing up 1st bullet accuracy.
playing deathmatch like this is awesome, its a lot easier. Movement sometimes destroy you aim, like when you do kovaak, you are standing still, if you start to move, you will get less score, because you will need to microadjust everytime you move, or adjust with your movement, instead of just focus in the kill. And when you full stop, people sometimes overaim you and need to go back the crosshair to the enemy, this kind bugs many people.

All about fear, fear of death once you stop the fear you will move like that we ussually constantly move thinking it helps us stay alive but most of the time it just throws off my aim and makes me walk back in the enemy crosshair cuz they dogwater and can't be bothered to adjust
Lowkey Its not about not being able to stop and shoot , Those who've mastered counterstrafe to a point that they do it instinctively experience difficulties when trying to not move while shooting or taking a duel , I've been playing fps for so many years , and I am not good at counterstrafing but , my aim is steady and I don't move when i shoot , I insta stop and shoot as if I hit a wall and I'm stuck , but for shroud he does Know how to counterstrafe don't get me wrong he is a GOD at CS, PUBG and every game he touches, so what I'm saying is Shroud understands the mechanics behind the specific game rather than using his muscle memory from CS or anything but all these new pro's have a CS background so they can't lose their muscle memory, but for New valorant players people who have started Valo as their first fps game , would have a much easier time to stop their movement while shooting as they are conditioned that if they don't they miss their shot ,hence It's kinda understandable why Tenz feels this way.
I used to play like that my aim was crisp , maybe I wasted my time time learning counterstrafing. That is a technique when you practice only aim no movement you are kind of insane but also easy to kill
To do this you need to have insane aim, need to make sure you hit your first shot for most of the time so this honestly wont work for the majority of the people except for those that have insane aims
Looking for this. The perfect first shot is very necessary. If you don't have that, counterstrafe becomes fundamental in not dying. But I have noticed in my games(diamond) that I walk into their bullets when I counterstrafe.
@@thehuntsman5936 it does happen, make sure your movement is a bit more random, instead of just going left after going right or the other way around, try to do left left and then right or something even more random, this way the enemy can't predict ur movement

Your keyboard matters quite a lot too. If you have a keyboard that uses magnetic hall effect switches, like the wooting or the flux keyboard, then your movement is going to be much more responsive. Often what trips people up is the difference in reaction speed between their keyboard hand and their mouse hand.

so you can improve it by practicing just like tenz said but important thing is you have to do counterstrafing anyway. it's just a matter of the timing of starting to do counterstrafing. so there's no right answer i guess
Shroudy has always been a calm clean aimer man.. He's mastered the art of micro-movements and raw aim.
It's definitely a play style or a preference.

All about fear, fear of death once you stop the fear you will move like that we ussually constantly move thinking it helps us stay alive but most of the time it just throws off my aim and makes me walk back in the enemy crosshair cuz they dogwater and can't be bothered to adjust
Lowkey Its not about not being able to stop and shoot , Those who've mastered counterstrafe to a point that they do it instinctively experience difficulties when trying to not move while shooting or taking a duel , I've been playing fps for so many years , and I am not good at counterstrafing but , my aim is steady and I don't move when i shoot , I insta stop and shoot as if I hit a wall and I'm stuck , but for shroud he does Know how to counterstrafe don't get me wrong he is a GOD at CS, PUBG and every game he touches, so what I'm saying is Shroud understands the mechanics behind the specific game rather than using his muscle memory from CS or anything but all these new pro's have a CS background so they can't lose their muscle memory, but for New valorant players people who have started Valo as their first fps game , would have a much easier time to stop their movement while shooting as they are conditioned that if they don't they miss their shot ,hence It's kinda understandable why Tenz feels this way.
there is no difference between counter and letting the a or d key go maybe its like a millisecond faster
@@thehuntsman5936 💯💯💯
@@thehuntsman5936 it does happen, make sure your movement is a bit more random, instead of just going left after going right or the other way around, try to do left left and then right or something even more random, this way the enemy can't predict ur movement
@@thehuntsman5936if u practice this tho, wouldnt you end up working a lot on your aim since thats what ur relying on to win duels?
“Idk how to explain it but I do not do that” like yeah you don’t do that and you’ve won a world title
Wish we could've seen shroud properly compete
i quit valorant a few months ago and have played no shooter/fps games but i wanna come back now 😭 or should i stay away
Did you quit? Has your life gotten better?
@@H786... i came back after 3 months :/
you can still quit, i know it.@@saliva1305
It's called Gun-kata
I'm not sure why it confuses people as to why his style of play is effective.
i think tenz is overthinking it. theyre simply giving more effort and focus more on their aim/target
Lol calm aim *Asuna enters the chat*
ahhaah asuna is a caracter with that stupid laugh and the shaky aim
Overrated
Asuna left the tourney
cant believe the one who shaking the crosshair so hard like asuna can be a pro xD makes me realize that everyone has their own play style, just practice more so u can adapt with it.
just need shroud's chair and 240hz monitor
vid link?
WE CALL IT TURRET MODE YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST 🗿🤓☝️👌🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
I'm only here to try to figure out what the heck this title means.
"they make it look like so much easier"
well if tenz stopped jumping and swaying his mouse for no reason it'll be easier haha
crazy movement like tf??? only doing counter strafes this game is no brainer
1:03 i would call cheats tf is that
Your keyboard matters quite a lot too. If you have a keyboard that uses magnetic hall effect switches, like the wooting or the flux keyboard, then your movement is going to be much more responsive. Often what trips people up is the difference in reaction speed between their keyboard hand and their mouse hand.
I use a $10 Logitech keyboard from target
@@DiamondHoe Maybe don't play games then.
@@laeiounthe fuck lol? this is just massive copium from you
i just die man
when i try that...
If you stand still doesnt that transfer your aim training from aim trainers better into your game? Because in aim trainers you dont move and if you dont move ingame aswell it probably feels more like in the aim trainer…
Lol this is how I’ve always played it’s never made a difference counter strafing is .2 milliseconds faster but it’s not faster then peekers adv sooooo but my aim is nowhere near shrouds and I crouch too much when. I unbind I’m crazy tho
Thought it was standard to stay still and shoot or am I missing something here ?
valorant player bro
I mean tenz should know it’s basic csgo movement like learn this in mg1
I think its because the dedicated so much to their aim and not movement
like in fortnite when i was bad i usually would 1 pump someone that was trying to clip me bc i didnt get the concept of building only aiming so it was easier to kill people trying to clip me
shroud also got really good movement he used to play kz all the time in cs. he just prefers this playstyle
am i the only one seeing them strafe in between shots the same as everyone else?
Yes they are micro movements without counter strafe.
Lightly press a or d to move slightly in a position where your Enemies have to move more than you. This was an epiphany for me while explaining this to you. Try that out in dm
its common
just to clarify, i know how you move between shots and stuff, im just pointing it out because tenz is saying they are standing still, for me they are not standing still. I dont really see a difference in the way they aim compared to tenz
@@vendetta9399 aleksander and yay have minimal strafing. they only do it if they see the enemy stands still and misses a shot. they dont do it preemptively. while tenz does it preemptively in order to mess up the enemies aim.
@@vendetta9399 yay and aleksander are using more mouse aim than actually aiming with ur strafes. they only use strafes for micro corrections if needed.
Shroud said that you don't need to counter strafe in Valorant, CSGO you need to because there is momentum or velocity and you need to counter strafe to zero velocity. In valorant, there is no velocity. you just stop if you stop
He dosnt mean tap-stop counter strafing he means the type where you continue in the other direction and fire when your velocity reaches zero. I think dead-zoning is a better name for it
shroud didn't play on Frankfurt servers xD
So… make sure you stand still and shoot
i think just because their raw aim is too good so they just stop and hit everything
just wonder, can calm shooter shoot, crazy ass movement player, maybe like flight?
ALEKSANDAR THE GOAT
i think boostio is more of that aim than demon1
He is so in his own head he already lost atp
maybe at this point on valorant is better to stand still in some cases because ppl are so used to people that strafe and preaim that and since all this turret god aim players dont move makes them harder to shoot?, does that make sense or am i saying non sense
Park and bark meta
watch aleks and scourge to git gud. thank me later
Wouldn't it be funny if like, once the AI anticheat comes out (the one where you can put clips into it and it will detect cheats) we put shroud clips in and it just shows him blatantly cheating his entire career?
Not that I have any doubt Shroud is a cheater, hes the western goat of FPS games. But it would be HILARIOUS to just see every fan/pro whos ever fanboyed hard as just get cut up about it.
Jora enters the chat
*Aleksandar
Zellsis aims the same way
Is he not just playing how u would in cs.
zombs does the same thing too
Nothing is perfect. But so cool when do it lol
yes
Who is Aleksandar
the goat
shroud the type of dude to dominate rank and scrims and somehow be shit in pro play.
I hate this. Kind of montage then i start thinking valo is easy and when i play actual match it feels like i have worst aim
Sarahcat tho
