That's cool Daz... that what we worked for for retirement....I'm hoping the rules are the same for Tricare for life.... just know after you turn 65 they boot from prime and going to the base clinics... Thanks for the info.. I'm in Cebu Metro and retired USAF....worked and traveled through out Asia from 1975 ...yes Clark too .. Best Regards... Smitty
Thanks for the information. I leave tomorrow for the Philippines. Our house is also in the provinces, Pangasinan, close to Lingayen. Your presentation is very good, not so wordy, direct and to the point. Enjoyable to listen to.
Just for knowledge..their is a few. Just look at the provider list and just select only the province and forget selecting the city and a nice lost emerges...coz Metro Cebu is ,Mandate, Lapu Lapu and more. Everything is really close together here. Thanks again expats hero s
Hell yeah bro, I got people wanting to sell me other heath insurance....I really don't think I need it with TFL. And a pretty good network of providers here in Cebu Metro....of course I'm needing upfront money, then get reimbursed.. cash is king in the pi
You don’t need any other health insurance in the Philippines besides Tricare brother. Hopefully a hospital in Cebu Metro gets added to the preferred Tricare list so all you need is to pay the 25% copay; the hospital files all the paperwork to get their 75%.
This is great info! We are retiring in 2yrs and healthcare is one of our worries when considering retiring in the Philippines. This video is really helpful and good news to us since we live close to Clark. I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
Hello! I have been watching your vlogs. This video is very informative, we’re planning to retire there 2-3 yrs from now We have Tricare, he’s retired military and he is 71 yrs old. Just asking Sir if my husband has to continue his medicare even if we are in the philippines. Will Tricare work if you dont have medicare? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊
Your husband must continue Medicare Part B in order to continue Tricare even if you live overseas. Once he qualified for Medicare; it becomes his primary coverage. In order to keep Tricare; he must pay Part B. Good luck with your planned retirement to the Philippines. Take care.
Your the first person who actually talked and showed where you can use Tricare. Most others just give light details about the VA clinic or talk about hospital are good and just prepare to pay out of pocket. I do have question, do they have pharmacy service to get all your medication?
I did not have a need to use their pharmacy on my visit. Mr. Dante Sangalang (Tricare coordinator for Medical City Clark) would be the person to ask. His email is dsangalang@themedicalcity.com
Just subscribed and happy to hear that we could use Tricare in the Philippines,I have Tricare for life and my wife is using Tricare too I will try to research and if both of us qualify and retire in PI , thanks for the info.
I wsa there yesterday and they told me they do not accept Tricare Prime but do accept Tricare Select and Tricare for life (the medicare supplement). If you plan to come here you may want to switch to Tricare Select.
Yes; if you are coming from the U.S and have Tricare Prime; you will need to switch to Tricare Select Overseas if you want to use Tricare in the Philippines.
Hi everyone Tricare for life is available to use in Philippines and has many certified providers.. hospitals, clinics and physicians Just I really not sure about how much is covered for in patient care. Has anyone done it
I belong to a group on Facebook; Tricare in the Philippines. You should join the group; lots of discussion on which hospitals in Manila accepts Tricare. I just don't like giving out information unless it's my first-hand experience. I don't want to give you the wrong information.
NIce VID! Ty for sharing. I went to Medical City Clark website, I searched through International HMO's and didn't see Tricare!? You mentioned you set up your appt's and follow on care at the international patient office, is Tricare advertised? Again, ty for sharing this info. Best of health to you & hope your annual exam is on point!
I setup my appointment using the Medical City Clark Facebook page. When you click "Book Now" on their Facebook page; that is where you will see a list of their doctors and which ones are Tricare certified. Now that you mention it; Tricare is really not advertised. I just heard Medical City Clark took Tricare from word of mouth; so I had to check it out myself. Mr. Dante (Tricare coordinator at Medical City Clark) was the one that told me Tricare fell under international patient office. My annual exam went well.
Yes, we plan of doing more videos for military retired planning on moving to the Philippines. We are headed home to our province of Aklan today after our one month trip in Luzon and will be able to focus on videos for military retirees.
The Medical City Clark Tricare coordinator is Mr. Dante Sangalang; his email is dsangalang@themedicalcity.com. He is the person that verifies Tricare eligibility for use at their hospital.
I've been retired for 23 years now (going on 24) so at 65 have to switch to Medicare...Haven't done that yet but will I guess...I've missed the boat on Tricare lol! Medical care is a concern though as I get older so definitely it's something that I have to consider as we decide on where to build or buy over there...Appreciate your vids BTW! Looks like you're set over there...😊
Bacolod is a nice size city and is growing. In 5 years, I see you having more options for medical care in Bacolod as new hospitals open. Negros Oriental is now a retirement destination for expats in the Philippines because of Dumaguete and Bacolod. I follow Sunshine Shoulders and Paul in the Philippines on UA-cam.
Awesome info!
Thank you Cris!
This is GREAT Intel to share and much valuable for all Tricare card carrying members. Really good stuff!!
Thank you brother!

Good to hear this good news. We are retired here in the states but originally from Angeles City. Thank you!
Hi everyone Tricare for life is available to use in Philippines and has many certified providers.. hospitals, clinics and physicians
Just I really not sure about how much is covered for in patient care.
Has anyone done it
Tricare covers 75% of inpatient cost in the Philippines. I was admitted in Panay Hospital in July 2023. My copay was 25%.
Do you know hospitals in Manila that accept Tricare?
I belong to a group on Facebook; Tricare in the Philippines. You should join the group; lots of discussion on which hospitals in Manila accepts Tricare. I just don't like giving out information unless it's my first-hand experience. I don't want to give you the wrong information.
Great info for those living near Manila.
Thank you JD Travels!

Great VLOG. I think there is a big opportunity for reporting on everything us Military retired need in PI.
Yes, we plan of doing more videos for military retired planning on moving to the Philippines. We are headed home to our province of Aklan today after our one month trip in Luzon and will be able to focus on videos for military retirees.
As a fellow MIL Retiree I appreciate the insight, I also understand a few other facilities down in Subic offer similar Tricare services. Thanks!
how about your wife is also eligible to use the tricare? thank u
Yes; my wife is covered under Tricare. We pay the annual fee under the family plan; $345 a year for 2023.
What about Triecare for Life because in the states we pay nothing?
The Medical City Clark Tricare coordinator is Mr. Dante Sangalang; his email is dsangalang@themedicalcity.com. He is the person that verifies Tricare eligibility for use at their hospital.
Thank you
That's good news but aren't you paying Medicare Part B? Something I didn't think about till Tricare says you better have it once you hit 65.
Yes thats right about Medicare so after i leave i have triecare no medicare . Only tirecare overseas. Thanks for bringing that up
I've been retired for 23 years now (going on 24) so at 65 have to switch to Medicare...Haven't done that yet but will I guess...I've missed the boat on Tricare lol! What type of Tricare coverage do you have? I have Tricare prime.
I am enrolled in Tricare Overseas Program (TOP) Select for Overseas Retirees.
Will they also handle those eligible for Tricare for life? Thanks
Mr. Dante, the Tricare coordinator at Medical City Clark is the person that will verify your eligibility. His email is dsangalang@themedicalcity.com
I plan on retiring to Bacolod City in about 5 years. Hopefully South Bacolod Medical Center is still a TRICARE preferred provider.
Bacolod is a nice size city and is growing. In 5 years, I see you having more options for medical care in Bacolod as new hospitals open.
