She made me feel bad about her life in Dexter. And I was all emotional about her death. Dexter made me connect with the show. Not many shows are on that level.
(Spoilers in this post) Being completely honest, in Dexter, Carpenter put on the greatest performance I have ever seen from any actor or actress in my life. No book, movie, or TV show has ever made me feel closer to a fictional character than I did to Debra Morgan. If there was one person I knew I was always rooting for during that show it was Deb, and I just can't believe how well Carpenter made her come alive. When an actress' performance can actually make you care about a character that isn't real to the point that you tear up during their death, that's how you know they've done a great job. Thank you, Jennifer.

I don't remember which episode it was in but there was one with a think a drug dealer or relative of a drug dealer where something happened and she freaked out and just started bawling that was just so ridiculously authentic. Almost nobody I've ever seen in anything has done something like that so well.

I never realized what a great show this was until now, I watched every season, on Showtime On Demand, I wished it could have ended another way for the characters Debbie, Dexter, Harrison, and Hannah. I would love to see the main characters of Dexter together in another series or movie.
Man... It's beyond me how she isn't in more movies/shows. Mostly when I watch a movie I just think "yeah yeah you're sad and confused". Jennifer is on a whole other level... You can feel the frustration.

Her acting is beyond anything anyone is putting out there.......her performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose was astonishing and it's the single most unsettling movie I've ever seen. She never appears to be deliberate with any of her techniques in front of the camera......so i doubt if shes a method actor. She's kinda like the person who gets overlooked with safe, easy movies but gets called up to do the ones that are hard, difficult and complex. She is just simply and utterly outstanding.
