Way back I was a sediment control inspector and was inspecting a road job that Mashuda was doing. Ralph Mashuda had ordered a 5130 and I got to watch it's first pass loading 777's. He was timing it, and comparing it to his 992 loader. He ended up keeping it. I became friends with Ralph and was sitting beside his dad at a pre-bid when he had his first stroke. I was out west when Ralph died of a stroke. Good people. The younger kids drove the company out of business. I can watch these big things for hours. I ended up with JF Allen for a while and they bought a PC2000. It along with a Hitachi 1100 and 992 moved 9,000,000 yards on Corridor H. It was cool to watch it get put together and start digging. I did lose one of my better operators to it. What a bear cleaning the tracks.
Well, not quite, he made a mess of the loading pad and forced the trucks to drive over some fairly large rocks bouncing them around quite a bit around the 4:10 mark. After this little dig watch how the dumper drivers have to slow down but still bounce around driving up to be loaded. I bet over the course of a couple hours that slow down would equal a few trucks?
Awesome footage, like to see the dirt loaded and handled with the excavator, smooth operation. Wonder how many pounds were loaded in each truck?? Keep it up
I've operated a many heavy equipment moving dirt and my favorite of all of them was the Volvo Articulated Trucks. Comfortable, A/C, and radio. Good to go.
if an excavator is configured so that it pushes away from itself (bucket teeth point forward) is it a shovel instead, specially if it has a back door on the bucket? for dumping?
Not necessarily cali. We have all day water trucks running here in virginia. Basically when you are on a industrial plant or near large residential areas you're are required to run dust mitigation.

You got to remember, these things have none of the DPF,DEF, proubably not even an EGR because they were made in the early to mid 90s. There is none of the modern computers to go wrong. And its proubably 1/4 the price of one that has a couple second load time that a better operator can make up for.
@@fosterschutt6125 6015 would dig circles around this old gal, despite 200 less hp. And maybe that operator could fill the damn bucket and properly load those trucks...
@@ArthurDentZaphodBeeb I'm not saying that the new stuff isn't faster, because it is. What I was saying is it's paid for, and a good operator could really make up for the newer and faster 6015/6020s. A 6015 would compare to a 5110b as well by the way. Really close, but a 5130 is a bit larger.
Until they are economically feasible to maintain. We own two 5130 with almost 35k hours on both. You can find them both ripping apart San Diego 14/yds at a time still!
Maybe a stupid question but: why are the tracks so narrow? It seems for such a large, heavy machine that a wider track would be better. What am I missing?

Just love the size of that excavator.
I'll take two scoops please.
👍 two pass loading!! That would make the day go by fast. Great video!!
Thank you SCEM.
The video ended to soon. Love seeing older excavators still doing the job they were build for.
Oh, this is definitely one of the best videos about excavators.
One smooth operator will done ✅

I love how this video highlights the versatility of excavators in various construction projects.

The precision and finesse you display while operating that excavator is simply amazing.
Keep up the good videos. They are nice and long. I just wished you would release them more often.
My first time on this channel good video of loading trucks,

That’s how it’s done!
This video showcases the power and capabilities of excavators so well.
Best get some trucks for the beast to feed !
Der fährt gut mit dem langen Löffelstiel !
Only in California where there is a water shortage does dust control take priority.
Hell yea, wouldn't want some golfer 20 miles away to get dusty! LOL

must be a perfect overview of the scene from the high operator cabin.
What kind of project is this here?
Scrapers were have just as well as these adts.651,657s,660s,666s can haul more then 40 ton adts
I'm guessing thus is California cuz all the water. I wonder how much they use in a day. Great video

I wonder how much longer they’re going to keep these 5130’s around before they go for 6015’s or 6020’s
Till they become un fixable or to costly to maintain

Just like raisin bran 2 scoops
Is this the machine the 6015 was inspired from?
the 6015 is next gen. from 5110b
good 👍👍👍
This video is so informative and helps me understand how excavators work.
wow I actually worked for kiewit out of denver Colorado for a few years. never knew they had this big son of a bitch
Big digger but them tracks look funny.
It's like those weightlifters who could juggle 100 pound dumbbells but haven't done a squat in their life.
The production value of this excavator video is top-notch.
"Two scoops of raisins in every box".
God I hate those tracks!
They are so small.
Should not be taking over his drive motors‼️
go logging, you are moving to much to worry which end your drives are

@@Gavin84w so how many drive motors have actually been busted off over the years on machines this size, just asking

Those are rock tracks, meant for harder, rockier ground. They "dig in" better than wider tracks on that sort of surface.
Hầu bé tí nhỏ hơn 6015b
The tracks are super narrow
I think they are regular excavator tracks! That's just how big this monster is!
👍
The footage in this video of excavators in action is just so satisfying to watch.
