  • Two students and "hobby simmers" flying a simulated Engine Fire and the following Single Engine Landing in Munich.
    -- please read --
    Sky4U recently asked us, PilotsTubeHD, if we would like to visit their EASA approved 737NG fixed base FNPT II MCC Simulator in Berlin, to produce some videos.
    The licensed Simulator is mostly used by real Pilots for training, still you can book your own Simulator Experience and take a seat at the controls!

    "Engine Fire Switch NUMBER ONE...Pull." "NUMBER ONE CONFIRMED", Perhaps? But anyway, how nice to see a smooth, slow retarding of the identified engine to idle, so that performance can be easily monitored whilst doing so, just in case...

    I don't like to be cynical however your procedures in this video were wrong. Therefore it is probably best to tell viewers not to use this video for training purposes. For example... the way you put your hand straight back on the throttles when the fire bell went was unnecessary. Also it is the pilot flying who instructs the other pilot to cancel the fire bell. It's not just done solo. Then when taking any other action the pilot not flying calls it out i.e pilot not flying - "Confirm thrust lever 1 to idle", response - "Confirm thrust lever 1?", response - "Confirmed". Then the pilot flying will carry out the action. Your example of Crew Resource Management (CRM) was a bad example. I'm not having a go but I am saying that in future it's best to put 'not for training purposes' somewhere in the video for your own sake.

      It's pretty obvious this isn't to be taken as serious training for educational purposes. They did a decent job, and thats it.

    • @wayjilliams

      bram purba For a start... I aint your bro. UA-cam channels in the past have run in to problems by not stating it. There's a reason you see most other aviation sim platforms say it. its just a recommendation. nothing personal or stupid.

      It's not a given, they still should have said that it isn't, also is it just me or does it sound wrong when someone reads back the winds

    Engine 1 fire but switched off Right fuel pumps without X feed??

  • @puyanhashemi
    @puyanhashemi 9 років тому +1

    This might be a stupid question, but why didn't they land with flaps full?

    • @Kysalt
      @Kysalt 9 років тому +2

      Puyan Hashemi More flaps = more drag, that's mean more thrust required. It might be insufficient thrust from one engine with full flaps, especially on aircraft just after departure due to heavy weight. It's a theory, but maybe some B737 flyers will explain in more details.

    • @PilotsTubeHD
      @PilotsTubeHD  9 років тому +2

      Raimondas B The thrust would be enough from one engine, that we were able to climb aber shutdown #1.With more power (you need when flaps 30/full) you get a far stronger yaw moment on one side, which makes the landing way more difficult.

    Why he don´t use reverse?

    • @PilotsTubeHD
      @PilotsTubeHD  7 років тому +2

      Good English :) The runway was very long, so reverse was not necessary. Also, using reverse on one side only "pushes" the airplane to one side.
