Great video. I don't remember the last time I've watched an entire session. How do you handle RP in ICRPG? Do you still keep it in turns as explained in the Rules? Do you allow any freeform in RP? Also I love the part where you ask what one of the PCs see when praying to the dragon fossil. Any tips on having players input their vision into the story? When do you find it's appropriate to have the PCs explain what they see? How do you handle that or go about it?
Thanks! The next chapter in the Skar Expedition should be up this weekend so we'll see where the story goes :D As for RP, it really comes to down to feeling it out at the table. By default I stick to turns as much as possible. My track record is keeping games to about 2 hours, so I like to keep things moving. BUT if players are wanting to RP and chat, I give them the space to do so and the turns just make it so I give everyone equal attention in the RP. And for asking the Players for input, again it's an in the moment feeling. In those moments I want to offer a space that they feel safe to say whatever they want and as a GM, I'm listening to what they add, mining for tasty details, or just feeling out general engagement. If my player got really into the moment and provided a lot of detail that signals to me that that's something they are interested in and I'll include more of it later. If it kind of falls flat, then I guess they're just not feeling it at the moment and I'll move on. So much of this, and why I like ICRPG so much, is to accept those gut feelings and to have open conversations with the players. Let's talk about this. What do you think of that? What catches your attention? Etc...
I'm using the Runehammer VTT. It's a free VTT provided by Runehammer. I've got a whole playlist about it here: ua-cam.com/play/PL-dFBafZ9FusqrY95q1XMhOYNbh5SYWX2.html
