This is a really tough topic Mufti Menk. Trust is important in a relationship and once broken, it’s very difficult to go back to normal.
100%, there is no back to normal after cheating, even in the small term, that's why never rush Into marriage, and live with your potential partner prior to being married, I know this is hard for many muslims, but you will only see the benefit later, as marrying somebody without living with them prior will never let you know their character, plus a man cheating is still based on the women who let him, but forgiving is never an option, leave and find better, had I not left the women I had, wall I would never had met the unbelievable women I am with today.

Living in a haram relationship is a great sin and there’s not even any other guarantee that the person you are living with will not hurt you. Our faith gives us the freedom to get a divorce if our partner is unjust towards us. Men and women have the right to get a divorce if they can’t live with each other. I’ll choose this option if such a thing ever happens to me. The advice of the Sheikh is wise, but we are humans and forgiveness is a great virtue and we should forgive! But the Almighty never told us to remain with the person who hurt us.

4:00 the one who can move on easily is usually the brother who cheated. There is always another sister available for men to move on easily and quickly. Women who get cheated on usually have to Consider whether to stay or not even if there are no children in the marriage. They have so many things to consider if they were to leave the marriage that men don't need to, the label of being a divorcee, they're increasing age, family members hounding you to just forgive it. Its sad how women get pressured into staying because they might end up being alone if they dont.

@Blueend End I know what you mean. I feel the same way sometimes. The men even have an option to marry more than one woman but some cheat so they don't have to pay for the other women's expenses. It's easier for them to lie and cheat and then repent to an All forgiving Lord. The men have so much advantage in marriage and just relationships in general. All women want is a decent guy to settle down with and even then the options are limited or you can opt for polygamy which no woman chooses unless she needs the financial support. All men need to do Islamically is to pay the bills but they get 2 rewards for it. once in the dunya for being paid to work then on the scales the highest deeds for them is to provide for their family. Women don't get benefit in the dunya to be mothers or wives. Everything for us is all in the akhirah. The dunya is a prison for the believing man but for a believing woman its a cramped cage. The men always win, we just have to deal with it. Women have all the same obligations, but more restrictions, more obedience, less leniency, less freedom and less rewards at the end of it all. The men even know what they are working towards, while us women dont even know. And if we ask, the scholars say "you get jannah, the pleasure of Allah" but the men get all this also and they were still told their rewards. And lets be real for a second, If Allah didnt reveal their rewards, NO MAN ON THIS EARTH WOULD STRIVE FOR THE NEXT LIFE. They all think about number 1. Its either they dont want to burn in hell or they want to enjoy paradise. Ive never heard or seen one of them do the right thing when it mattered when they had to sacrifice something solely because it was the right thing to do or because Allah would be happy with them.

My husband was on dating websites for years without my knowledge, I was under the impression we were happy together, I noticed changes in his behaviour, he became violent. After forgiving him many times for the sake of our son, I was terrified of the physical violence and divorced him. He never prayed and always critiqued Islam, Glad I did the right thing.

Cheating is a very hard decision... the person literally considered the relationship ending before they did it. So that's what they deserve it to end. There is no family left at that point unfortunately.

Don’t cheat, do the hard but courageous thing and inform/leave the person. Give them their full rights, let them go. Don’t torture them, break their heart, deceive them because you don’t want to deal with your own difficult emotions.

@Dawid Piwnick I agree, but there’s always the opportunity available to bow out gracefully. Divorce is halal. It’s really just a conversation and a process, in which we uphold the integrity of ourselves and the other, it’s also important... because the way in which we treat the other person also dictates our own future. Things have a funny way of coming back around, it’s important to do things in a clean and honest way, that is pleasing to Allah swt The ex may not like your choice but will respect your honesty and transparency so that they know where they stand at least.

Once a cheater, always a cheater, once someone gets a taste of Zina it's extremely hard for a person to stop. That's why it's always said to avoid Zina with all your might, and stay away from even getting near a situation that will make a person falter.
Also, cheating is not a mistake, it's a decision. They lack self control, character, and respect for their marriage and spouse. Mistakes are when a person doesn't know better and is ignorant - That's not the case for cheating, that's a decision.

So it like less than 0.000000000001 chance of happening bec 1 what is the chance of 4 people wetnising the intercourse, 2 people are afraid that they mess up and get lashed instead. @@vks4360 No, there are many conditions and layers to it. conditions so thorough it would be virtually impossible to be fulfilled unless the individual goes out of their way to admit they were an adulterer/adulteress and exposed themselves rather than seeking forgiveness from God privately.

If your partner cheating on you and go beyond the limit means he/she has done sex or selling their dignity to the others, better just breakup because from there you can judge that person will destroy your lineage.

I went through this for 7 years and kept promising me he will “change” and I kept hoping he would but guess what? He never changed I just kept losing my self little by little until I fell to depression and sickness. I FINALLY found the courage to leave and it is so painful because I had so much hope it would get better, eventually I really had to pick between my health and sanity or this person that doesn’t care or love me? And I picked my self. I know that my heart was in the right place and I had the utmost intention for a good future, but I guess he’s not the right man for the job. May Allah guide us all and give us the patience and strength to endure anything that comes our way!

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah:
that the Messenger of Allah said: "If there comes to you one with whose character and religious commitment you are pleased, then marry (your daughter or female relative under your care) to him, for if you do not do that there will be Fitnah in the land and widespread corruption.'"

If by this, the Mufti meant to avoid angry reaction that could make you end up in jail then it's fine, but if he meant to not leave and give a second chance then I strongly disagree. Zina is not a mistake, rapists always say it's a mistake, I couldn't control myself in heat of the moment. Unless you are drunk or mentally unstable, you have made a conscious decision.

When a married partner cheats, every situation and circumstances is different. It's hard, sometimes very hard to make the right decision. Yes, you have to calm down and be in a situation where you are calm and less stressful to make the right decision for yourself. It happened to me and I never thought about getting married again. Alhamdolillah, I'm blessed. Found a new wife who is simply amazing. Even how we met is another story. We have been married for twenty years now. She's very special. May Allah (swt) guide everyone to happiness and fulfillment.

I've seen my mom and my grandmother go through pain from their cheating husbands. I am married and have a good husband. But my previous experience with my family sometimes rub on me. I get scared that sometime in our life, I'll get cheated on. So maybe, that's why I am watching this. I am always praying to Allah swt for guidance. Whatever happens, I will accept that it is Allah's qadr.
Instead of dwelling on the past why don't you revel in the present and look to the future 😊 make sure he knows he is appreciated and make sure to be the best you can be. Inspire him to be the best he can be as well. Dress up for him, cook for him, encourage him to share household chores. All these things you will be rewarded for. Salam.

Remember one thing, A man is more than capabale of loving more than one girl. If a woman could peek into a man's heart who dearly loves her, she'd never look back. It's deeply rooted in the nature of man and a man struggles to avoid it even when he's married and dearly loves his wife. If your man looks at another girl passing by, he most probably can't help and it's highly likely that he's struggling to not look. All that being said, it doesn't allow a man to do whatever the hell he wants and he must struggle and restrain himself. There are exceptions and exceptional people do exist, but I'm speaking in the general sense.

Allah can forgive you for the sin you committed without hurting anybody else or wronging anybody else, but when you sin by wronging someone else then you need to seek forgiveness from the person you wronged and you can only be forgiven if the person you wronged forgives you. In the cheating case, I think majority of the people will not forgive their partner and rightfully so. So, I dont think their forgiveness will be accepted. And another thing, the punishment of adultery is stoning to death so...

To my all dear sisters/brothers.. My advice to you is.. If you are emotionally committed or engaged to any person whose loyality is questionable.. or if you have caught them cheating.. Please leave them immediately.. There is no strong relationship without loyality ... yeah Its hard to leave them.. And we think they might be sorry for their behaviour.. so we keep on forgiving them.. But it mostly doesnt happen in that way.. because loyality as well as cheating is a character trait.. not a habbit.. so once a cheater is always a cheater.. sooner or later that relationship is gonna end.. so end it soon so that you might get a chance to heal and be able to give ur pure feelings to someone who is worth it.. And keep praying that one day you get what you deserved.. ALLAH does not make those losers who are good at intensions.. Keep faith..

2 days ago he said "I cheat on you since 3 months", the father of my 3 sons, the love of my life. He was a good man, he worked hard, he cared about us, i thought he loved me. After 14 years trough good and bad times.. I'm 50, he is 55 and she is 28..IT hurts soo much, i can't handle it. The only thing i can do is praying. He is gone to her😔 but says to me "I regret, but I had to go to her, i must clean some decisions i made. I don't know what to do 😔please pray for me,for us🤲

Cheating can be emotional too. You valuing someone else's opinion over your partner's can be a form of cheating especially if it's done with such intention that u chose to value another person's opinion because u wanted to score points in their books.

I got cheated repeatedly and everytime i watched this video i gave him chances because he apologised. Then how would i know if he is apologising whole heartedly, may be he is acting again? So this time I didn’t give him chance and walked out with my child from this relationship. May Allah gives me ease and strength to raise my son following the path of Allah (SWT)

Mufti Menks advice advice is golden . Especially if someone doesn’t have parents or any family to look up to and turn to.
and the conclusion of this is it's very painful, no medicine no doctor, no psychiatrist can help you. But don't worry, after a few months or a year later you will feel normal again (Personal exp). Alhamdulillah, now I am happy that she is not in my life. May Allah guide her, me and you aameen.

Edit::: HOWEVER if after giving them many chances and they do not change their behaviour for their children AND your partner is not showing u respect/ affection and nothing happening In the bed and they keep on cheating and after yo both have had counselling from different people including religeous and your mental health is getting worse and it's effecting the children then it's time to really think about getting a separation n see how that works- if spouse is NOT violent with children n CAN be trusted with them and children feel comfortable then spouse can meet them, never force your children to do anything they don't want to- and TRUST YOUR INSTINCS PLEASE they are from our Guardians.
