We dinghied around for an hour looking for that darn mermaid, and were about to give up when guy came by in a boat and asked if we were looking for it. Eureka! Enjoying your videos!
@@SearchingforCShels The best part of watching your videos and a couple from Pa who also have posted their cruising adventures, over the last year or 2....that after 30 years of boating on the Chesapeake Bay, we just moved up from our 46ft Silverton to a 76 ft Lazzara and going to follow in your footsteps....Your great videos pushed us into what we always wanted to do...more yachting adventures. Great Inspiration...hope to see you one day in the Bahamas or passing on the ICW!
Mike J omg super exciting! We love hearing this kind of feedback. Keeps us motivated. We really hope to see you out here. What is that other channel? We would love to check them out.
@@SearchingforCShels "Trying not to sink" is the other couple........ Thanks. My kids and grandkids love boating...and now we after watching so many of the adventures and the unbelievable places you guys have been to.... well ...hard not to want to live that dream too.... Thanks
Very awesome!! Two of our Bahama cruising bucket list items covered. The mermaid and piano and the beautiful and famous Farmers Cay Sandbar. Still looked to be underwater. Always great underwater filming and not to mention famous actors now getting involved in your videos. A Chance, loved it! How about sliding that window open to talk, Off The Hook! May your Big Jib Draw! Aloha Love 🌺 Jen & Art & EB😎
That shell almost looked like a giant Sandollar. Another nice video. Not too many power boats vlogging in the Bahamas. My wife and I are thinking of trading up from our 30 foot powerboat to a 45 or 50 foot trawler this summer and heading to the Bahamas after hurricane season.
Great stuff you guys! Your videos have been my escape route while stuck in Fla taking care of my 92y/o mom.... I think those delicate shells are from West Indian Sea Egg - par of the urchin family.
I have been enjoying your videos. You are an inspiration. I also have a Tollycraft and it is presently docked straight across the St Lawrence from your home port, in Clayton, NY. Keeping an eye out for you. 87 Tolly 30 Sport Cruiser.
Thanks Tony. I know, we had a fancy plan for the Davit episode. It included the drone. The drone took a dive a while ago. Guess we are going to have to do the davit episode without it. 😀
Sure is. Go to our Channel at ua-cam.com/users/searchingforcshels, Click on VIDEOS in between HOME and PLAYLISTS close to the top. By default these should be in order with the newest at the top, but click on the SORT BY in the upper right to make sure. Let me know if this works.
@@SearchingforCShels correct. Dead shells are also protected in some like Mozambique, and south Africa the area they live is protected as they are very sensitive to disturbance and people walking on their delicate shells kills them. In some species there are 5 little white doves that fall out when broken. Some call them angels. SA species : www.milkwoodmanor.co.za/752/
That’s so weird! I came upon this because you look so similar to the girl from another UA-cam channel I watch where they’re also boating around, I won’t post the name because I don’t want to be rude posting someone else’s channel on your video. Great video! It’s so beautiful, I felt like I was there too :)
Doing some research here, like you we are Canadians looking to leave it all behind and start living. However We want to gather as much info possible before we make irreversible steps. we came a long way in figuring out what ship we would prefer, looking at durability, fuel economy / availability etc etc. however we have a few more open questions and kind of hope you guys could point us in the right direction. The Canadian health insurance does not cover out of country cost, but Blue cross has a few OK travel policies but we are not sure if they would cover the bare minimums. How do you go for health insurance ( we are early 50 so still in good shape / health & and have a 16 yo daughter living with us ) looking for full-time out of country. Boat insurance, we found some online brokers ( US based ) that have some rates on there, would that be a good choice or should we go for a Canadian ( Note we would purchase a US ship and see if we can register that in the US ) anyhow, we very much enjoy your videos and envy a more relaxed lifestyle. Cheers G&G
Hi G&G! One thing you could do at first if you are in a province that offers it. Currently we are on a 2 year leave. You can do this every 5 years and still maintain your Provincial Health Care in Ontario, it makes the travel health insurance much cheaper. After that we have to spend 5 months per year in Canada to maintain our Canadian health care. We are going to attempt to do that when our 2 year leave is over. In the future we may end up getting expat health insurance if we feel we want to stay out of Canada longer. We are currently with Cooperators. On the boat insurance, find one that will give you more freedom in the hurricane belt. There are a number of good insurers in Canada. Our First Policy was with Aviva. They were good. We now have BoatUS which is Geiko.
@@SearchingforCShels, Thank you very much for the info. We will certainly take your advice and see what we can accomplish here. We are from Manitoba and will have to contact Manitoba Health and see if they offer the same conditions. As for boat insurance we will contact Geiko and look at rates. Fair seas for you and enjoy life. G&G
Hey thanks for watching Cliff. Yes we claim any income like this. Patreon is setup to allow Canadians to participate, and we claim our income/taxes as normal.
Call my office. We’ll set up a LLC and 501c3 for saving turtles or some crap. If I can’t save you money you don’t pay. Otherwise I’ll take 30pct of what I save you. 45 pct if I have to work in Sundays. You want to do this before Trump declares war on Ontario. Believe me!
We will do have a corp and we do roll all stuff like this including the little bit of google ad income into it. Allows us to control the taxes a little better. Thanks for the offer. You are too kind.
We don’t need it to get by. That is not what Patreon is about for us. None of our patrons are paying us to cruise. The fact remains though, creating these videos, as much as we love doing them, takes a lot of time to edit. We sacrifice time we could be using to make money to put these out for free. So Patreon for us is just one way for someone to partner with us and contribute to the creation of these videos. It is also just another way for someone to say thanks for putting these videos out. We don’t want anyone pressured to join Patreon, we just want people to know it’s there as an option. We love all of our followers, and appreciate everyone of you, whether you are on Patreon or not. Cheers Randy!
Searching for C-Shels Let’s start out by saying I’m not trying to bust your hump I subscribe to your videos. I’ve just never heard Bring up patron before. It did not look like you were doing this for the money but for the enjoyment. It gets annoying like u tubers mermaid monster that are in a 1,500,000 dollar boat and are asking for Patron. My opinion is they’re doing it for fame so don’t ask us to pay for it. All that being said I do enjoy seeing what you go through in your journey as I do a lot of cruising myself. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of power boat people that make these videos. It’s probably because of the amount of work involved. There are a lot of young cruisers that need the help to keep their journey going
Thanks for your thoughtful reply Randy. We certainly do this for fun. If we weren't having fun I can guarantee you we would stop it immediately. Fame is a weird word in our opinion. Everyone wants to be recognized for the work involved, that is not really a bad thing. When someone gives up their traditional lives to do something different, there is a lot of risk involved. Putting that out there in video story format can be unnerving sometimes, you are putting your life on display. For us, not only is it fun, but we also feel it is needed, so that others that are unsettled in their traditional lives can get inspired to break free. There are very few cruising channels "making money" off of patrons that one could call income. For the most part it is simply a heartfelt gesture, a thank you, or another way to let us know that they want us to make more videos. Any creator/cruiser who goes into patreon thinking they are going to finance their around the world adventures off the backs of their followers is going to get a real shock I think. It's the wrong attitude and we agree with you, a real put off. We think Patreon is probably fighting this false impression as so many cruisers use it as a fund my journey platform, instead of a contribution to the creative process. And some viewers first impression when hear the word Patreon is, there goes another e-begging cruiser who wants me to give them money to play while I sit in my office slaving away. It really shouldn't be that way, and it certainly isn't for us.
Searching for C-Shels Your doing a great job and if we were east coasters we would be going where you are. Seems like not many people do the West Coast trips and put it on UA-cam Alaska and Washington and Canada are some of the prettiest places there is. Thank you for the response and we have always been a fan of yours. P.s. And even more now. Also you cracked me up with the e-begging cruisers
Yes we totally know. Sorry. Better audio coming in the future with better audio equipment.
