    The sling was an excellent innovation, but a bugger to remember how to fit lol. It's been many many years since I had to do this, 30 plus years in fact. Good demonstration, well done.

    having come from the SLR to the A1, while the sling is good, almost clever - it fails in the level faffing about to put it on.
    It's shame they never design fast release anchor loops for the weapon. I think it' greatest thing was to enable wearing the weapon like a daysack leaving you hands free to do other stuff.
    But unless we had to, most left the sling off.

  • @donaldmackay8439
    @donaldmackay8439 13 днів тому +1

    This weapon had to be fired from the right shoulder and, because of this, the sling was fitted to the left side . Why are you fitting it on the right and why has nobody else noticed this??

    • @Iwasthemilkman
      @Iwasthemilkman  13 днів тому

      The sling is being fitted on the left side to avoid lying the weapon down on it's charging handle; this also allows it to lie completely flat.
      It has been noticed and mentioned before.

    This is NOT an SA80. The Small Arms 80 is a family of NATO small arms, it is NOT the name of the rifle.

    • @EfftupSmith
      @EfftupSmith 3 роки тому +1

      let's not get picky. It's an L85 which is part of the SA80 family, so it IS an SA80. just like Alec Baldwin, Stephen Baldwin and William Baldwin are all Baldwins.And this drill for the sling would certainly ALSO work on an L98, and an L86. Probably the L22 as well? I;m not sure on that one.
