Agreed! Especially if you wear Edeas. There's very little break-in time! I used to love getting new boots when I competed. Never had issues breaking boots in, and I've even broken boots in for friends who struggled with it lol 😆 💜🏴⛸️
That is actually so cool the 3-D scan, u know I actually wish they did something like this for pointe shoes because as a ballerina it would make the fitting so much easier!
For me it took like almost 2 weeks for my skates and blades to come in and then they were mounted. After skating I had to adjust them and skated in them again. Finally I got the blades permanently mounted after almost a week 💀
It just occurred to me that I don’t remember if I ever permanently mounted by blades 😳…it’s been like 3 years 😂😂 (I’m an adult casual skater so no competitions or hardcore use)
I actually just ordered reidell vega, they apparently have this fancy new technology that makes them not need heat molding. Im excited to see if thats true. For the price, it better be.
@@name2541 not sure for figure skating but when heating up hockey skates you put your foot in it while its still warm and tie it as hard as possible. Then it just molds to the shape of your foot and thats it.

When I get my Edeas they check my size once and makes sure they fit and then I come back when the blade is mounted test it and that’s it this is a really cool process though(it’s worth noting that I get the same kind of skates every time ✨concerto✨)
this is the rich version lmaoo , i used to just get skates that were my size & width that already have the blade on it. then i had to mold the interior padding myself with a hairdryer and get the blade sharpened

it's so unfortunate how in my country we only have one ice rink all-year-round in the capital city, and that means we don't have any ice skating stores besides the very small one that the ice rink provides! it's extremely scary having to get ice skates online, and that's exactly why I haven't done it yet 😭

This awakens the memory of how Shoma shifted his blades by himself after the 6min warm-up in competition, which also means that he probably jumped quads on a temp mount..
i just got new skates but im not fancy enough for 3d scans and having the blade seperate from the boot lol I just go to play it again sports and try till it fits
For me its less time consuming They look at how big my feet are then they give me a boot, i try it, they put the blades on and done, they dont reattatache the screws

Very true Edeas are very good boots not to break over time I usually pair them with the gold seal revolutions for the blade

could have been hand made, just needed proportions. Hockey skates are also made like this if you want it to perfectly fit your foot shape for comfort.
they heat up the boots and like shape them to your feet then cool them down, and position the blades to how you need them
