Appreciate the shoutout. Odd to run down another farmer who is just starting out
No shout out just trying to make sure people actually know what farming is because there’s a difference between farmers on UA-cam and UA-cam farmers that do the dumbest shit like you do and then clueless people watching. Think that’s what farmings all about.
But you're not a normal beginning farmer Duffy...... not all of us are go fund me farmers...... so careful how you categorize yourself.
@@MissouriRob plus if you grew up on a farm and worked for a dairy outfit so you were around farms all the time does that really make you supposedly a beginning farmer you think it would make you at least have a clue 🤷♂️
cousin Andy ,
between your work ethic and concern for the USA - know your efforts are noble and needed .
thank you everyone .

Grumpy dont worry about long videos KEEP THEM COMING!!! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!!
Appreciate it
God bless the Farmers, we need you guys badly.

I’m a building contractor early 80s. Time got slow because farmers had no extra money. So I went work on a father 2 sons farmer. They raised 1500 acres, of sugar beets, 1500 corn, 1000 wheat, and 1000 wheat. they run a 250 cows and calf’s crop. And a 900 head feed lot. I got paid 5.00 and hr. But this bunch of kids wants 20.00 hr these day.
On the Road Again.! ! Joys of farming. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO!!GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS❤😊
Appreciate it
Memorial Day is a day to remember all the men and women who found for our rights and freedoms
Thank you proud heros
We had a 500 acre farm when I was growing up. My dad always worked in town at a factory to help supplement the farm and that was back in the 60s . I can't imagine the cost verses profit today for small farmers with the costs the way they are.
We have our four year election day today, Your treated bean seed looks like fresh harvested peas, you are managing the weather very well, Hope Barb heal up quickly, great video Andy, no such thing as a too long video
Thanks Jan
Right on with Memorial Day. Our democrat governor here in Kansas put out an executive order Friday before Memorial Day that all flags be half staff Monday till noon to honor veterans. I put all the flags up in our cemetery to the top. I feel the reason putting up flags to begin with is to honor veterans. My parents went to 7 cemeteries in the county. Apparently they all felt the same way.
Memorial day is for those that didn’t make it back home and the sad part is they only get one day just like Veterans Day is to honor veterans and they only get one day. Guess who gets this whole month of June 🤬
Andy, what row distance do you plant the soybeans at? I have been saying for years, people hate America don't stay leave and go somewhere else. Maybe you would love this country and thank the men and women who served in the military and helped keep us free, till the present. God help us to get back to what we were!
7 1/2” spacing and totally agree Rich
I am not special, but I sure do miss Scott.😥😢😥😢
Thank you for the video Andy. It lifted my mind up for a while.
🙂🙏🙂🌱🌱🌱
We all miss him 👍🏻
Corn planting and combining. Something about watching the machine eating corn stalks. 🤣🤣🤣
I agree on the harvest part but I still like planting beans better it’s quicker 😂
I don’t see how you would ever estimate where it isn’t a lot left over or far to short !
Farmers amaze me with what y’all have to endure .
Thanks Brother Man
Glad you’re getting it done
Good Luck

I love farming it does not matter what crop I have I love seeing it grow and the results of the summer .
👍🏻
Looking good Andy! God bless you and your family
Appreciate it
My favorite thing to harvest was corn!plus nothing better than the smell of corn dryer drying the corn
Agreed
Good to be back to your videos. Thanks
I enjoy planting corn more 😉
Hopefully Barbs ankle is feeling better!!
That’s because you don’t plant any damn beans 🤦♂️🤷♂️🤣🤣
@@TheGrumpyFarmer People plant beans?? ;) Also, totally agree on those click-bait UA-camrs. Unbearable.
Good video hope your wife recovers quickly
Mike 👍🏻
I enjoy planting corn more because we no till everything corn stalks raises hell with the bean planting
That’s why we hit it with the high-speed disc
Hopefully Barb's ankle is better and the swelling went down!! I absolutely loved the 15 min mark!! I enjoyed seeing the seed tender at work!! Nope, not to long watched every min of it!! Keep it uo Andy, hope yall got finished!! You need a 25 gallon hat to go with those boots!! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for bringing us along, look fwd to whats next!! 😁😁👍👍🌽🌽🇺🇸🇺🇸🌱🌱🌾🌾🚜🚜🍻🍻

Barb I hope you get to feeling better soon. 🙂🙏🙂
Thanks Jim she got back in the Tractor today and was disking for me
Prolly planting corn. Definitely harvesting!,, hope things going well; milo left to plant then done! Have a good one--
Karl 👍🏻
Even with today's technology, a lot of hard work goes into growing food and I think Americans have forgotten that. I sometimes wonder what the world would be like if everyone had to learn certain life skills from experience, like growing food for yourself, fixing and maintaining your vehicle, building your own home, etc. I wonder who would be screaming "you are privileged" then? 🤔 We appreciate your videos Grumpy, thank you for all you do. 🤝
Appreciate it and no most people today are clueless unfortunately
I hope Barb heals up quickly.
She’s going to get back in a tractor tomorrow, Eric
You tell them Grumpy, you make me laugh. 😊😊😊😊
Glad I could help 😂
Great video, Andy. My background is dairy. Interesting to see corn and soybeans being planted. Glad to hear Barb is on the mend. If I lived closer, I’d jump in a tractor and give you a hand.
Matt 👍🏻
Love planting and harvesting canola😁😜
I never have so I wouldn’t know
Hey Andy Great video, I don't mind the length of the video because I learned alot and I hope that Barb's ankle starts feeling better, get her a big bag of frozen peas to use as an ice-pack then you can refreeze the bag and use it again, plus the peas will conform to her ankle better than ice cubes. I crushed both feet, my left ankle, broke the knob off of my left ankle and crushed both Achilles tendons in a semi truck wreck years ago and the frozen peas worked better than ice. Good luck and best wishes Bsrb in getting healed up and I'll see you guys in your next video .
We got rain Monday and Tuesday. Hope to be back at the beans tomorrow, hoping she can get in the tractor then.
Has your daughter ever considered helping or joining the farm?
What would you do if something happen to Barb and she could no longer work.
Have you considered just closing up and selling off your land and equipment and moving to Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, North or South Carolina etc.
Chelsea has no interest and I’m fine with that and I’m not that far from retirement age anyhow

Oh no! POOR BARB. HOPE it was just a bad bruise. Prayers for healing. Lol. I remember when i walked on broken ankle two days before i was able to get to orthopedic doctor. ER said it was a sprain. They thought my bunions were broken toes. Why i went to my ortho Doc. BROKEN
HINT IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU GOT A COLD IS YOUR HINT YOU HAVE A BROKEN BONE.
vomiting and sweating . . .
With my allergies, I always feel like I have a cold, but then again my body is pretty broken 😂
Great video!!! Prayers for a quick healing with Barb’s ankle.
I hear there’s a pretty good carpenter not far down the road from you that can take care of that deck. He might even work for beer.
Have a great weekend!! 🍺🇺🇸
He always says he’s busier than a cat digging in a sandbox 🤦♂️🤣
Always feels good the complete planting. Only have to worry if it grows and produces a good yield.
Pretty much
I could not agree any more with you. You and I are on the same page on almost everything. I like to plant corn more than beans. I enjoy laying out how I'm going to plant the field so when I take the corn off, I don't have to go across the rows at th ends and corners. And yes, corn harvest is way more fun. And yes, on your OMT, every election right down to dog catcher is important this year.
Absolutely 👍🏻
Enjoy your videos farm down in Texas have great day.
Thanks Steve
Every time we do one more round we spends hours cleaning the mud out of the openers.
I like planting bean to break up the monotony i just try to see how strait i can make the rows but besides the dam rocks they are fun to run because the short beans always supprise
👍🏻🇺🇸
My grandpa always used to say to me, plant in the dust, your bins will bust.. how many late nights have you had getting crops in the ground? Good luck Andy.. great video hope your wife is okay and it’s not nothing serious.
Well, Sunday night I planted beans until 11 because I knew it was going to rain Monday and Tuesday
Plant in mud...crops a dud.
Well speaking of the Hisea boots, right after your review video, I went to their website and ordered a pair. I received the order conformation email with the order number. About 5 days later they sent me an email stating that they were out of stock on the boots. I replied back wanting to know when they would be back in stock and they replied that the boots had been discontinued. So I replied back asking if I had mistakenly ordered the wrong style boot that they had sent you, "the Grumpy farmer". they then emailed me back stating that yes I had ordered the same ones they sent you to review, but they were out of stock and that they had been discontinued. BUMMER I then emailed them back and asked them why they would send you a pair asking you to review them when they have been discontinued. Needless to say no reply back from them! Go figure. I had no worries about ordering them because I had purchased a pair of rain boots and was happy with them.
Well, that’s bullshit. I guess I’ll be emailing Clara right now.
@@TheGrumpyFarmer I will be curious to hear what they say about it.
@@grandn8646 I actually emailed Clara right after I saw your comment last night and she told me they are coming out with a new line of boots. Of course my response was why the hell would you send me something that two weeks later you weren’t going to be selling, but it is what it is.
@@TheGrumpyFarmer That was the same question I asked them that they never replied to. I would be willing to bet that the next style will be a lot more expensive too. lol
Soylent green.
I like planting corn and harvesting corn the best. That’s my favorite Crop.
I agree with you on the harvesting part, but I still like planting beans better just because it goes faster
@@TheGrumpyFarmer I wish I could raise Corn like you do up there if we get 150 or 160 bushel corn we think we done pretty well. I have had 200 bushel corn before but only one field one time. Usually our Corn makes around 130 to 160. there is a couple of guys in this county where I live that irrigate and they get the big yields.
@@jackgetman6168 oh we’ve had enough years where 150-160 looked pretty good but a normal year if the weather cooperates 170-180 but of course you get the occasional field that’ll go 200 or better
I plant becks hybrids and they push early beans if you can and actually I have had good results but that is Indiana not new York there is a big difference thank you for what you do
Hope Barb foot heals fast Andy, I'm like you planting beans & combining corn going to miss that being retired 😢
Agreed Artie and I’m sure somebody around there would let you help out some in the fall
Nothing breaks down if you don't use it! I know some mechanical type people that run old stuff, and they have plenty of backup tractors to put in service when 1 goes down, and they have a good shop. I also know some that trade up before the tires wear out. Somewhere in the middle is right, I guess. I love planting beans, but never get the population as precise with a drill. We calibrate drill for wheat, because it's always the same size seed. Hope your fair lady gets better, and I know what you will be working on in any Summer slow times - new deck steps! Take care, friend.
Probably wind up with a new deck
@@TheGrumpyFarmer Good luck, my friend. You probably need a permit, and a certified design, and a contractor license, and a site inspection and a.... I really like living in a place that's not NY!
praying for speedy recovery for your better half. God Bless and Jesus please smite the demons.
Agreed 👍🏻
jeeze louise andy. you got more beans than the jolly green giant haha.cool video remember no veterans no freedom no farmers no food.corn looks good
Absolutely 💯
We spray fungicide on everything every year. Sometimes some crops get it twice. Because the crop is heavy and we get a fair amount of moisture. I think you get a fair amount of rain as well. And you have good crops. You should take one of your best fields of corn and beans and have them sprayed with fungicide. Spray half the field so you can see the difference it’s very visually noticeable. It’ definitely makes a huge difference on yield and grain quality. I do not think you would be disappointed. But of course it’s your farm and you can do what is best for you. But I think you would like it. If it’s a dry year then skip it. But that’s just a thought my friend. Cheers.
Appreciate it
Sorry to hear what happened to mamas ankle hope she gets to fealing better tell her dont push it and the acres you 2 farm will keep the 2 of you busy in spring and fall keep up the good work and get well mama

Parts are ridiculous anymore.....labor can be tough to pay also... but if they get it back running and in the field it gets easier to swallow..... the big catastrophe that I see is you're down a cook👍🤣🤣 hope Barb gets to feeling better..... you may be wearing skinny jeans.

Hope your wife heals up good. Planting i dont have preference but i like harvesting corn more.
I agree I like harvesting corn better
I used to be like you liked beans better for planting. With the new planter I like corn. Because it’s twice as wide and don’t have to fill it very often
I have to fill the eight row planter with corn a lot more often than I have to fill this drill with beans
What maturity of beans do you guys plant up there interested in knowing
1.6-1.9 this year some years I’ll plant a 2.0 up to maybe 2.2
Hope Barb ankle gets better

Do you guys put inoculant on your beans, here in NDak we do i am wondering it that is a waste of $$$$ and time
also how heavy you plant do you try to get a live seed count number we shoot for 145,000 live seed
Yes, we fully inoculate what they call above ground and below it cost around $17 a unit. I’ve run out of beans before and had to go get 10 bags and they weren’t inoculated and I planted them just to get finished a number of times over the years and they seem to grow fine it makes me wonder also And I shoot for around 165,000
But your right, corn is easier in harvest time
Yup 💯
I've seen that farmer boy video you referred to. What a bunch of crap. Most farmers can't afford to lose $100,000 let alone $500,000. It's like all these people on UA-cam telling you how to grow produce. If you did what they say to do, you better have deep pockets. I love your channel.
Agreed Stephen 👍🏻
Hopefully you're feeling better Barb.

Never ask a farmer how much he makes and never ask a woman how old she is or how much she weighs
Good point 🤣
Farmers make not enough, women are old enough and weighs enough to kick your ass.
What I mean is the work a farmer does is so important they make our food or grow food for our food. In our house we like to eat. Thank you to the farmers and the Veterans. Especially the one that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Women don't need might to kick ones ass, the married men know they run the world from the sidelines.
That's alright Andy. Who could calculate anything well with the sh1t show we're going through.
Prayers for your family Andy.

Dufus ag….LOL! I think I know the channel. It is comical. I don’t have a preference for planting, 30” on both for me. Love opening corn fields though! Nothing like it. Great vid
I don’t mind combining beans, but it’s just more stressful

I still like drilling beans, better, and combining corn in the fall
Man would I like to come up and visit you sometime. We’re the same age with same beliefs! Would be awesome to have a few beers together!
I like drilling beans alot better than corn

first of all best wishes for barb hope shes allrite hell to lose your partner then good luck with your planting hope all goes well some how i think youll be allright carry on grumpy
Cedric 👍🏻
The engineers make it difficult to work on so you need help. The valve pan gasket on my wife’s escape was leaking so I got looking at it and then watched a vid on it. It was complicated, not something that any idiot should be able to do. It required the dealership an entire day to swap… yeah, last ford I ever buy. They design vehicles to be hard to fix so they make more money on service.
Exactly 👍🏻
Yeah, I stopped watching him too.I like watching his dad but I don't like to Watch remodeling home videos.I like farming
He didn't really get 81 mil so this time will probably be actual numbers. I pray Trump takes the whole country. I just read Dementia Joe is doing small venues, all black communities, schools and businesses because we and they all know he can't get anywhere near the crowds Trump is pulling in.
He’s doing his usual pandering
Why the drill and not a planter, just curious, great video's and love your rants
I don’t like planting beans in 30 inch rows
Every day we need to thank those who served and serve our country’s military forces, not just Memorial Day and Veterans Day .Just my thought.
Absolutely 💯
Most engineers have never touch a wrench
Exactly
Congratulations on getting the 18:56 corn in. Good luck with beans. Now it is raining every day lately in Wisconsin. Could be tough getting the hay in. Trump has to win, the country is going to heck in a big way.... Just as everyone on this medium knows. This 🍺 is for you Mr. Dennison. One more thing; thanks for keeping the numbers real. Our farm is in the same size category as yours. Those guys that glorify losing $500,000+ per year have no business being in the farming business. Reminds me of those "Urban guys in the late '70's early '80's buying way beyond their means to get the biggest articulated tractors to drive to Washington DC to protest that they are now all broke and bankrupt because they didn't make it because they didn't really know what they were doing....
