Hey! Great video. Just changes the fluids in my 641 Workmaster. Same fill, check and drain areas. I did notice, you don’t have an air cleaner/oil bath. You really don’t want trash to gum up the carb and mess up the engine, especially when you’re bush hogging. Great video!
I know your video is Old but thank you for actually pointing out the fill ports on tractor! Ive been looking all over UA-cam and web and no other video Ive seen showed where they was! I just acquired a 801 powermaster myself and this really helps alot
Thank you so much for posting this. I have 56 Ford 800 and didn't know where to begin with the fluids. Now I know what I will be doing this weekend....
I have one of the exact model and all the fluids are brown. I seem to remember a while back dad or my uncle was talking about it being rebuild and some with the PTO. I think all the Trans - Hydraulic - Rear end are all using the same oil. When I drain it I will check. Ha mine smokes a good bit, but helps keep the bugs away when I'm out working on it. Spot on about the boot as I think is part of where this my water came from.
I should have updated. I put the correct hydraulic fluid in and it ran good. Now I have to rebuild the lift controls as there is not much of an in-between setting.
Thank you so much for the video I could not find exactly how much fluid to put in the hydraulics. Putting the new clutch in today. Getting ready for a Christmas parade 2020!
if you ever need parts for this tractor, or need a one wire alternator look at steiner tractor. They will even give you a kit to move the distributer and change to pointless ignition and a wire loom if you need to change the wiring to 12 volt.
Awesome video, helpful. I have a 53 jubilie same size as this I lose oil pressure downhill drops to 0. But in level ground it's 20lb and 30lb uphill. Not sure if screen if screen is stopped up on oil drain plug or what. It concerns me. It's in really great shape don't wanna blow it up. I bought some oil SAE30. I check oil level regular. It's black and needs to be changed. No blowby or smoke from exhaust no loss of power stout tractor. Cencerned though.
Dragracer64 that's what my guess was, maybe one side of the screen is stopped up. And it don't pickup going downhill. It's been doing it a while prob last 5 months. When I first bought the tractor it didnt do that. It stayed at around 20lb 25lb oil pressure. Around 40lb wide open. Which wasn't bad then it got to where it started doing this. It concerns me, last weekend I got on the tractor and went down steep grade and she knocked one time real loud. I don't wanna run it anymore until I atleast get some kinda pressure downhill.
It is so very easy to drop the pan and the gaskets are cheap and available. Sometimes the pick up tube comes loose. All of that could be fixed for under 100 dollars. No reason to risk a tractor when it is so easy to do.
ive found that a good way to clean the inside of the transmission would be to drain the fluid and run a mix of ATF automatic transmission fluid and kerosene , run it through all the gears and let it run for a while, then drain and replace with the regular clean hydraulic/transmission oil
I just changed the steering column on my 640 that I just got and mistakenly thought it was the transmission below and it was the clutch but not before I poured two quarts of 90wt gear oil down the hole. Is there a way to drain it out, I see a plate underneath but it`s real close to the shifter and I don`t want to drain the transmission by mistake?
Does yours still have the specs underneath the hood? My 600 has old stickers on the under side of the hood telling what weight fluid goes where etc. Even has general maintenance haha
After you cranked it up. I noticed before you opperated the rear lift you did something with the pto lever. Seems you ingaged it for a second then turned it back off. Is there a reason for this. I got a 801 and the lift dont work. I remember the 9 8 and 2 end had to have pto running to opperate the pump so i tried that but no different
+Anthony Newman Thanks for the nice comment and for watching.. I haven't priced one recently. Every now and then I look on e bay and craigs list, just to see whats out there. From what I see it looks like 3,500 is the average asking price for a decent running one .
+Dragracer64 looking for my grandfather's 1953 golden jubilee Ford tractor... I know who my uncle sold at to don't know if he still has it and what kind of condition... love to have it back Grandad's 94
I paid 4500 for my 661. It has a good front loader bucket. Runs great. Hydraulic leak but that’s expected for a tractor this old. I think I paid a little too much but again it runs great.
Hello Congratulations for the tractor. I wonder what battery used (many volts), which the oil, how much, what oil filter and which brand of platinum. Thanks and sorry to bother.
I bought one looks like your but don't know what size engine or anything on year how can I find out is there a number on the block to help identify. It hard to try to find parts when I don't know what I have. Any one any help thanks.
You should consider putting some sealant on the fill plugs and drain plugs and stick and boot because of the rain getting in the transmission, the new boot will eventually begin to leak again through the stick opening. Did you consider cleaning the hydraulic filter screen? Your poor Ford looked like it has seen better days.
SamofCR Once you refill the hydraulics, leave the dipstick out and use compressed air via the dipstick hole (with tractor running at low idle) and operate the hydraulic lever up and down until it operates normally. Re-install dipstick.

Great tractor! I just purchased my very first tractor a NAA Jubilee and love it. It looks just like yours.
Hope it does well for you. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the information, you helped the the ole man out, (77 yrs. old), with changing out fluids on my 640 ford!
Your welcome, and thanks for watching .
Thank you so much for posting this. I have 56 Ford 800 and didn't know where to begin with the fluids. Now I know what I will be doing this weekend....
Glad it helped. You can find owners manuals on e bay. They are very helpful. Thanks for watching .
Thank you for this video. I was having trouble finding all the ports on my tractor and this led me right to them to change fluids.
Thanks for watching. Glad the video helped.
Love the 69 Torino! I had one as a teenager in the 70s.
Thanks for watching.

No, they are not. Trans and rear end are 80W-90 high pressure and hydraulics is AW32 hydraulic oil.
I get mine from NAPA.
I should have updated. I put the correct hydraulic fluid in and it ran good. Now I have to rebuild the lift controls as there is not much of an in-between setting.
Yeah, me too, Jimmy. My hydraulics are giving me fits.
Jimmy Traylor all three compartment sink same owner Ford brand is 134 d

Thank you so much.. You answered all questions I had, now let me get started
Glad it was helpful!
Like that car in the back ground.
Thanks for watching.
This was great, would LOVE to see the same for a 1982 ISEKI TL 2800 tractor.
Thanks for watching .

I would drop the pan and check for sludge, and clogged oil pickup screen.

Probably should have done that. Good idea. I believe I got it cleaner than it was. Thanks for watching .
Your welcome,I am glad the video was helpful, and thanks for watching and commenting.
The 600,first yr 1955, 1954 was the NAA,1953 was the jubilee!, just over 10k made in Michigan, 600 only.
Thanks for watching.
The 1953 NAA was called the Golden Jubilee. the NAA was only produced in '53 and '54. I have a 640 with a loader.

Good info but I'm wondering...does your manual instruct checking the hydraulic fluid level only when the arms are in the raised position?
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching, and happy 4th to you as well. Just wish it would quit raining, Beginning to wonder if the fire works thing will happen tonight .
Thank you I found this very helpful
Thanks for watching.
NICE car!
Thanks!
Does yours still have the specs underneath the hood? My 600 has old stickers on the under side of the hood telling what weight fluid goes where etc. Even has general maintenance haha
No those stickers are long gone .Thanks for watching .

I just checked to see the pto worked after the fluid change. The lift works without pto running.
Good video. Thanks.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Great help. Thanks

Where do u fill the hydraulic fluid on a 661?
Never own a 661. I am sure its easy to find.
What a great tractor love it reminds me of my grandfathers old tractor. If I went to purchase one how much do you think it would cost???
+Anthony Newman Thanks for the nice comment and for watching.. I haven't priced one recently. Every now and then I look on e bay and craigs list, just to see whats out there. From what I see it looks like 3,500 is the average asking price for a decent running one .

Is there a site plug for the hydraulic fluid I cannot find anything anywhere that shows me which one it is?
Mine has a dip stick.

Do you think it will hurt if i put gear oil in all 3 parts?
I wouldn't try it in the hydraulics.
I meant to ask if you had any issues with the 80W-90 fluid?
Thanks
Jimmy Traylor No issues at all , one year later and everything still works good .Thanks for watching .
You should consider putting some sealant on the fill plugs and drain plugs and stick and boot because of the rain getting in the transmission, the new boot will eventually begin to leak again through the stick opening. It stays under a lean to now. Thanks for watching.

Fyi, I Ford 600 is not the same as a Ford Jubilee. A Jubilee was only made in 1953. They look the same though. Hope you take care of the old girl..
Thanks for watching.
How do you prime the hydraulic pump?
SamofCR
