Hi great video but I believe you have the valve medium plungers backwards in the video. The medium one should be spin 180° to put resistance in the small spring.
I agree. The larger check poppets are installed upside down. The only reason the arms didn't fall is because there wasn't any weight on them. Otherwise great video!
Whats the purpose of the tangs on the bottom of the aftermarket yokes? I made sure mine were down and also made sure the pistons were in the positions closest to each other.
So I noticed you have some errors with your valve assembly. You did not show the socket pt# 9n627 but also you have yor large valve upside down. This is per the Ford part diagram, as well as seeing how my old pump was assembled.
Please revisit this video, you have assembled the valves in the chambers wrong. Both the small and large valves should have smaller ends pointing up, the way you have one up and one down, the spring will not have tension on it. Also, there is a valve guide in the bottom of the camber that will come out when cleaning and should be mentioned.
These videos do not tell you what is needed, she leaves out too many key things to do a good job on your repair. Her dad maybe a Crack repairman she is not.
I followed your steps and my pump doesn't work....I have found you put the valves backwards. I had to pull off my top plate again and now I need to try and fix this with the pump installed. Why don't you update your video since other have noticed this??
Doesn't seem that they answer any replies in the comments. If you look back I do believe the second comment mentioned this. Her mistake could be costly to others... although a simple mistake.
Very good instructions except for the value assembly. I rebuilt a pump, but then it wouldn't pump anything until I figured out that the mid sized value was upside-down..
Thanks for all the great videos and information. I put air pressure in the pressure port with top plate removed and have air leaking at exhaust valve in pump with pry bar holding valves in full lift position. Removed pump and valve looks fine but there isn't any seals in there? Is this just a worn part/pump? The valve and valve bore look good. The lift arms drifted down fast and I'm putting new piston in from your store but I think it will still drop with this leak present. Thank you
My buddy has a 8N and his 3 point arms drift down and the lift dont work unlesw he has the tractor in gear moving forward... Why would that be??? I am thinkjng he needs to rebuild the pump or has the wrong oil in system... Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated...
I have a question about my 2n i have no lift issues but it will not go back down until hrs later any ideas please i bought a lower kit from you that i plan to put on this weekend but i just want to make sure its not something else
I have rebuilt the whole pump and it does not shoot oil two feet in the air like you said it would. Is there something else I need to look for? I got the new chambers already put together.
First tractor I ever drove was the 8N that belonged to my grandfather, I have a 60's Massy Ferguson 275 that's a beast and runs great but the transmission is stuck in gear and I can't get it in reverse, there's a wire that broke on the linkage but I can't figure out how to fix it... I love your videos and you're a amazing mechanic... I love watching you and your explanation of every detail...
Hi Rachel!! You have a wonderful way of communicating! You obviously love working on old tractors! Me, too! I need to learn how to properly back flush the engine block on my 640. It wants to overheat too easily in hot weather. I've heard that over the years they get pretty gunked up, restricting the cooling passages. Do you think you could do a vid on that procedure? Love watching your channel--it's so helpful and informational. Thanks for doing these! You're awesome!!
I remove thermostat and connect water hose to 1/4 fitting (drain on back of block) and just let it run for 30 minutes with thermostat cover back in place It pushes slug out of block
Thank you for your video on the hydraulic repair I’ve gone through the pump and the piston then watched your video and check the hydraulic tube part number 9n567 And to your advice check for cracks and it’s broke how do I remove and replace thank you
Hi Rachel I rebuilt my pump back in the springtime off this video you do a good job I have a question for you though I had a gasket on my valve body bust so about 2 months later I'm rebuilding my pump again what torque specs do you recommend on the valve body?
I don't know if you guys are taking ideas but it would be great to see the process of adding a front engine mounted hydraulic pump to an early Ford or Massey to power a front loader. Im coming up blank looking for good videos or instructions
I have a 1941 9n, that I have totally rebuilt. I am having trouble with the lift. I go to lift the arms, and it never lifts in the same position, and it is very hard to set it in a position to stay at a certain level. Any advice or how to adjust it, to get it to stay at a set position?
okok... nice and the tractor video too... since the ford 8n's are so popular has anyone converted the tractor to "electric"? it has to be coming? thanks smart girl..:)
You made it look easy. Im thinking i need to do this on my 1947 2n. The 3 point works but will not hold a position. For example i can be using the finish mower and i set it at a certain height then 2 seconds later its raising up higher.
Your channel has the best repair videos I’ve ever watched. You do a great job.
Nice Rachel, what I see in the workshop, from the work of mechanics 👍👍 Thank you
You are simply the best.
Great instructional video . Hope I can find it again if I need to rebuild the pump on the 8n I just bought.

Unrelated question 1970 ford 3000 can the hydraulic filter be removed and changed..? Thanks
Hi Rachel..
I am from Pakistan and i have FORD 4610 model 1982,, can i get its new block with same Number...??? Plz reply
52 8n will lift.
Don't leak down but has no lifting power.
I’m pretty sure you put those valves together wrong…..
In a real repair shop they might make it one day. There aren't any mechanics left.

Great video Rachel. Take care and have a blessed weekend and I'll see you on your next video.

She's the real deal 👍

I’m in love! I’ve watched all of these and I don’t even own a tractor…
Great job always helpful information. Thanks 😊🙏

Thanks for getting the video back up!
Very Helpful thankyou so much
Does it matter Which way the intake valve is installed into the housing? Tapered shoulder of valve in or out?
Great video glad I found your site, it very informative. It helped me on fixing my ford 8n. Keep up the great work 🚜🚜🚜

really good video. not sure if I've missed it but is diesel fuel ok to use as cleaning solvent? thanks
protect your lovely hand please used work gloves
What if the tube is cracked ? It doesn’t shoot the oil up because it’s cracked, how do I replace the tube?
Great video! But I spent an extra 4hrs tinkering, to figure out you put your valves back together wrong. Very well made video though.
I have rebuilt the whole pump and it does not shoot oil two feet in the air like you said it would. Is there something else I need to look for? I got the new chambers already put together.
Bless you girl. Thanks for this video and all others!
What oil do you use?? For hydraulics/transmission??
Very informative and you make it look so easily done. Thats what you call "experience". Well done.
Excellent step-by-step, thanks!!!
Outstanding Video, perfect for what I was looking for.

What abrasive disc did you use on aluminum?
Another fantastic maintenance video!
Great job, Rachel! You make it look so easy. I'm thinking if I need this done I'll try and find someone with your skill to do it for me, Lol!
