I was Nemesis Kickstarter (or late pledge). One major misconception about the noise roll is not that the noise isn't necessarily from you but rather you heard a noise from that direction (i.e. the Aliens are potentially making the noise). The logic of the noise rolls and how it works in various scenarios aligns better with this thought as well.
Great video. Some of these were already on my wishlist, particularly Mansions of Madness. Fury of Dracula sounds like a ton of fun, definitely need to get a hold of it.
Excellent! Love the list and the Dracula skit. I really like ZDOA and My Father's Work. I also have Horrified, which is a nice lightweight one. Looking forward to picking up one of the Nemesis games during their upcoming campaign. I also really like the new Resident Evil, and a top favorite of mine has always been Cthulu: Death May Die. Oh yeah, and I also like Rise of Moloch (that one has zombies too). Happy Halloween!
Not sure if it belongs in top ten but curious on your thoughts regarding Cthulhu: Death may Die. It plays a little like Zombicide based on description but in Cthulhu theme with Stress and Sanity.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer it is made by same guys as Zombicide and is frankly more like Zombicide than Mansions of Madness or Eldritch Horror. It is a dice roller game with some RPG elements for characters and mission elements to complete ritual. What makes it interesting is the customization of levels, bosses, and characters making each experience fresh.
Great list! Hoping to play your #1 someday. I enjoy a mix of the games you mentioned, but others I would add are: The Night Cage Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein Vagrantsong Last Friday
Online, Amazon usually has good deals, also check out Miniature Market. You can also buy direct from most companies. Check out if there are any friendly neighborhood game stores near you and support local as well.
Abomination, Eldritch Horror, Horrified and Reighn of Cthulhu ate my faves. Fury of Dracula and Arkham Horror LCG fell flat for me sadly. Will be trying Mansions of Madness this Halloween.
As always, I appreciate your informative game presentations. This one is especially entertaining, and I can appreciate the work in the resurrection of Dracula. Thank you. Oh ! Why don't skeletons go to McDonald's? : : They can't get spare ribs.
Excellent list. Fury of Dracula I really need to get back to the table as it has feen far to long since I have played it. My fathers work has always been on my radar to play. Another I have and enjoy is Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein by Plaid Hat Games. Seams like not a lot of people really know this one.
I think your honorable mentions are better than some of the games on your list (Betrayal, Nemesis, Zombicide) but overall not too bad. You should try Escape From the Aliens in Outer Space for a game that can create a tense, horror-like atmosphere.
Like your list a lot on it I would like to try. I can only comment on what I have played Letters I have 1983's Jack the Ripper which looks like Letters is a upgraded version. Betrayal I wanted it wheb it 1st came out. I did get the 2nd Edition and expansion. L Aliens game I did not know if you were going to include that game as Horror or not. It being Sci-Fi. Fury of Dracula I bought the 1st Edition. Then I bought the 3rd Edition and made some solitaire rules. Here are some I like When Darkness Comes, Nightfall, Monsters Ravage America, Last Night On Earth, Godzilla: Kaiju Wars, Elder Sign and A Touch Of Evil.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer truthfully they're all excellent choices. I've only been able to play digital Fury of Dracula which is fun but lacks the social element and I need to get some friends to try the analog version.
I enjoy 1. Mansions of Madness, Nemesis, Unfathomable, Betrayal, final girl, Resident Evil. Im really interested in trying Labotomy II, but noone has it and i dont want to by it and not like it
Fury of Dracula is really exciting and a great length. Have you played Jaws? It is pretty dull and slow, and not much of a challenge. It is inferior to Fury of Dracula, for sure. Zombicide is a nice little challenge and such a fun game for fun people. I do question your list, though. I hope that in the future we will get to see more of what you actually like and not your incessant pandering to me. C'mon now, Cody. I wanna' know what YOU like and think! Come on! :p P.S. The Count (Dracula) was brilliant. I mean - Wow! The number of times I giggled... 🤪
@wiktormonfilsgustafsson56 Using stills probably would have made the game too cost prohibitive. Same reason the Marvel Legendary game has "bad art" ...stills from the films would have meant giving Disney ALL the money. So, I am good with the art as is...I don't wanr to pay $200.00 for a box full of cards.
Dracula is really boring and long game. Jaws is a much faster and more enjoyable chasing horror theme game than Dracula. Zomcide is way too easy and boring. I can only partly agree with your list here. I wanted to see more challenging and more dark fantasy/sci-fi games here.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Well I didn't play as many games as you have so I don't have a full list of 10 games for horror. My list would have some of your games in addition to Kingdom Death: Monster, Tainted Grail, and Shadow Hunters. I haven't tried all the H.P. Lovecraft type of games yet, so I would like to see some more reviews on those games before I buy them since there is a bunch of them. Some of them were very disappointing (being too slow, too mechanical, too boring). I like the art work in Cave Evil board game, but I haven't had the the chance to play that game either.
Anyone who says zombicide is too Easy and boring hasn’t played the game cause you can change the difficulty. Fury of Dracula is amazing. There is no better thematic hidden movement game in my opinion. In the end this is someone’s personal top 10. You can have your own but fussing games you’ve obviously never played is so sad.

Interesting.
Love it when your Dracula buddy shows up! Always great stuff!
Thanks. He's fun.
My short list: 1) Arkham Horror LCG, 2) Nemesis, 3) Final Girl, 4) Dawn of the Zeds, 5) Fury of Dracula, 6) Horrified, 7) Legendary Encounters: Alien
Excellent.
Love the skit 😆 Thank you so much for another epic vid!!
Thank you!
The Dracula interludes are brilliant. Well done!

I haven’t played that one. Ray just mentioned it in his top ten games of all time video.

Thanks!

Thank you very much!

The Night Cage
Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein
Vagrantsong
Last Friday
Thanks. I played Last Friday, but haven't played the others.
I would add A Touch of Evil with its expansions. Its a classic for me
Just getting into games with the family. Can you recommend a place to shop from?
Thanks and have a great weekend!

My list: Eldritch Horror
Dawn of the Zeds
Arkham Horror Lcg
Zombicide Urban 2nd Edition
Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition
Fantastic!
I’m not having any experience with any of the games you mentioned in the list. However the dracula help me really much in liking the games.

I've played it. Good game, but not top ten material, I'm afraid.
You're doing a great job, sir.

Is This War of Mine too horrific for this list?
Great list, btw..

Last Night on Earth is great as well. I really like A Touch of Evil: Dark Gothic, the Deck Building Game.
Never Played Dark Gothic. I enjoyed the board game. It was fun playing with the Werwolf and he starts changing players into werewolves.
My favorite board game period is the Texas chainsaw massacre from slaughterhouse
I played Trick or Treat Studios' Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I liked it, but didn't love it.
I compliment your taste on your #1 game
