I finally watched this and now I feel like I can see through time and space and all the things Genshin... and I still probably understand only 20% of it. Regardless, this was crazy. I'll be returning to this again and again for my theory crafting.

I sometimes feel like watching it randomly. I notice new things nearly every time or things sometimes make more sense as I progress. I first watched trevail just after I had finished Inazuma (before sumeru even was released) and everything was so exciting for me because I think after watching it I I realised how much dedication was put into the story and how much there was to come.

okay little thing about aether and lumine. they are probably much more powerful then the archons. its just that when they first arrived in this world their powers were sealed away hen they were trying to leave again. and from aether at one point stating he has watched stars be born and fade taking the average lifespan of a star being more then 50 million years they are likely older then the world of teyvat as a while or at least older then the celestials that created teyvat as it is today. because the world was originally ruled by ancient dragons and the primordial only came here a couple millenia ago and made the world livable for humans. given that mihoyo likes to connect their worlds its likely aether and lumine are gods of light that travelled worlds to mingle among mortals or something. most of this si theory but theory backed by a lot of evidence.

The funny thing is that this line was said by venti lmao " freedom if demanded of you by an archon is no freedom at all" .

If I remember correctly, this trailer dropped together with the game or few days apart. So we basically knew nothing. It was very funny back then when everyone was making theories with 0 knowledge about many things. And now, we're in Fontaine. I remember when Lyney and Lynette were only known from this one scene. Now I have them both in my team. It's crazy how fast it went by. This game really is an experience
I love your reactions. I've seen few reactors that are able to catch up on lore, but you're the first one I've seen who actually remembers things people told you, you remember names, voices, even character's trailers OSTs. AND without even playing the game. Hats off to you.
I can confirm that many people come back to this trailer a lot. It foreSHADOWs many things. It makes sense that it's the most viewed video on Genshin channel (together with Zhongli's demo lol)

I really love this trailer so much. Its arranged so well with its narration, the lines are so poetic and cryptic but revealing, the music direction amazing, and you get glimpses of main characters 7 years into the future. The trailer is a work of art in its own right.

  • @JustinSchuller
    @JustinSchuller 10 місяців тому +81

Diluc, Ningguang, and most of the other characters that were in the game and playable from the very start didn't get their own trailers, unfortunately. I always thought it was kind of weird that Kaeya and Xiangling got a trailer, but if you watch them, they seem more like ads for Genshin itself than showcases for the character.
I didn't start Genshin until earlier this year, and I didn't know about this trailer's existence until after I had caught up on the story. I think it's neat that people who have been playing from the beginning got to see characters like Cyno, Lyney, and Lynette way back then.
Do I think they would allow multiple endings? Nah, I don't think they'd go there, but I can't base that on anything.
A couple other things, the Sumeru "University" is called the Akademiya. Lumine is pronounced Loo Mean, and I used to have a dog named Shadow.
Was awesome hearing your thoughts on this. It will definitely be exciting to watch as you experience the game. Good luck with the move!

    • @TheRoschi
      @TheRoschi  10 місяців тому +18

-It'd be awesome if those character could get actual trailers or shorts focused on them... Something.
-I am a little envious of the people who have played it since the beginning. I could have been one of them (if I didn't fall off)!
-Honestly I don't think there will be multiple endings either... BUT it'd be cool and very unexpected.
-You are absolutely right. Your dog sounds like a real one.
      -Thank you very much! :D

When I was first watching Teyvat chapter storyline, there were only Mondstadt and Liyue, and I was so astonished by future regions. I didn't understand these lines about regions, but I loved music of each region and characters. Now after each main story quest I rewatch this video, and like "Aaaaaaah, so that was what he mean". It's very interesting ,'cause more you rewatch it, more you understand through the time, years. How much lore is hidden beyond the lines

With genshin there are so many layers of lore spawning so many layers of theories and speculation. If you really want to get into it, you have to look at all the flavor text for weapons/artifacts, and in game books. There is so much extra detail hidden there that most players don't read that suddenly become important later or adds so much to existing info. Its really interesting way to tell the story, but also can be annoying since its so easy to miss seemingly important info that applies to the main story. Also there are limited time events that occasionally drop big lore implications but newer players do not see them. So you might want to watch play throughs or summaries of these events.

Little detail: The character on Act 6, Everwinter Without Mercy is "Pulcinella" also known as "The Rooster". I don't know why they decided to hide him on this trailer. But he already appeared in another trailer, talking and all, he might be from the same race as Klee, and look funny as heck.
He's like, Klee sized, long nose, moustache, a big hat and monocle.
He's from the Fatui and Childe puts him on a pedestal (a pedestal slightly lower than a certain another Fatui member that Childe admires, but still) on his character lines.
Edit: Also the guy at the end is indeed Dainsleif.

I can vouche and confirm Genshin lore is very dark. many of the themes shockingly sensitive and/or mature in subject matter. Grief, death, depression, traumatic events, tyranny, slavery, human sacrifice, war(lots of them), and some I dare not name because of how f*** up they are. You only need to as Dainslief said, look for it as it is EVERYWHERE!! lol

Just a bit of trivia, since you probably won't play with JP voiceover - "good old Dain" refers to the main character solely as "kisama", including Japanese version of this trailer.
Which in my opinion adds to his antihero image. In any case, without a shadow of a doubt I can say his design looks awesome.

    • @PuolenJeninPaska
      @PuolenJeninPaska 10 місяців тому +4

I think Dain is using 'kisama' here the way samurai households used it, as a term of honor and respect (considering how old he is).
It's only in the modern times that 'kisama' became almost exclusively insulting.

If you plan to play the game, I think you should rewatch this trailer after you played through at least first two regions. That'll give you good idea how to interpret it. I find it fascinating how they managed to tell us exactly what awaits us in the game without giving out any spoilers (despite the title suggesting so). After each region, people keep returning to it with "oh so that's what they meant by this". That speaks for itself.
34:15 The game is full of "illusions of choice" where you can choose between two or more options but they all have the same outcome. Given the game has a story you need to follow, it's logical, they could not possibly maintain growing tree of different stories as people make different choices. And since I don't believe the game will really end when we reach the end of this trailer, I don't think we'll have a choice either. It's called "Teyvat chapter...", after all, suggesting there will be more chapters after that and so the story may need to continue. Will there be any? That's a question. But it's also very much of a possibility, assuming the game retains at least fraction of its current popularity.

It is actually confirmed that both of the main characters are canon, doesn't matter who you choose to play as. Which seems to be pretty important for the lore of Teyvat right now. Their outfits and they way they are depicted in art seem to be represesented as night and day as well. Just thought I'd drop that important info that probably won't become apparent until the end of the game lol.
The reason Hoyoverse has chosen to depict only the guy as the main character in trailers/demos/teasers is probably for consistency.

    • @kasuha
      @kasuha 10 місяців тому +5

Regardless of what Hoyo says and regardless of the fact that all ingame cutscenes, voicelines and dialogs support both Aether and Lumine as the main character, the fact that they're consistently putting Aether into all their videos as the traveler and Lumine as the Abyss sibling makes that option the canon one in my eyes.

    • @Solitudevv
      @Solitudevv 10 місяців тому +3

@@kasuha That's fine too, I like to view Aether as the mc as well. However especially with all the recent lore it's pretty clear to me, with the whole "upside down" shenanigans and "opposite being good" and vice versa in Fontaine, that we're finally getting to some basis of it. After finally getting introduced to some major hints in the Caribert archon quest! ^^

Love the video! I think your analogy of Dainsleif as ‘Red in Pokémon Gold/Silver’ is a very apt way to look at it lol
One thing that might help you contextualize stuff is that one of the most consistent themes in Genshin is the concept of ‘erosion’, how nothing can last forever and change is inevitable. I just want to emphasize how amazing it is that they have had the complete story laid out since back then. They even did the fitting music for all regions right from the start.
Though the video is called "Teyvat CHAPTER Storyline Preview" they call the chapters "Act" (yet ingame those are the chapters which themself consist of acts).

I just saw this trailer after finishing Inazuma and my idea is that Dainslief operates as a shadow behind us but knows a lot about Teyvat and the Archons. I have thoughts about the Pyro and Cryo Archons and those thoughts are based on who they’re believed to be patterned after which are characters from a previous Hoyoverse game, I mean Raiden Shogun and Miko are based off characters from said game and Nahida is slightly based off a character and all three have the same Japanese VAs

Good job catching that our dear narrator could have some bias casting it's shadow on his perception. Sometimes, people can just get into the "but person A said X about this thing!" mindset and forget to consider that a character or indeed any person could lie, be misinformed, or simply have a particular view of things.
But yes, this trailer is a brilliant road map for our adventures. It has given us a blurry, squiggly line, passing through strange and fantastical impressions. Despite telling us where we are headed, we have no idea what truly awaits us.

7:20 - The 7 treasures mentioned refers to the 7 gnoses which were awarded to the 7 archons who were the ones victorious in the Archon war. The gods referred in this who granted them the 7 treasures refer to the gods in Celestia.
9:50 - This is a reference to the tower of Babylon where people thought they were equal or beyond the gods and the same thing happened in Genshin.
I won't spoil too much because this will all make sense if you played the game. It's given to you bits and pieces that you'll have to connect what you found in the game to the trailers.

this trailer is what made me finally sit down and download genshin (along with my friend making me obsessed with albedo, of course). since the very first time i saw it, a bit more than 2 years ago at this point, i decided that once cyno is getting released as a playable character, i'm getting him a 100%. so i did! as soon as 3.1 update became available, i logged into the game and got the man. triple crowned him a week later, and he's been almost a constant in my character party setup :D
also, i really really want to believe that dainsleif appearing in the "khaenria'h" part is a hint that he'll necome playable one day (most likely once khaenria'h is available too, since other characters in the trailer are only available when their respective nations are released)
19:12 honestly, i think your videos are gonna be so much more entertaining and informative once you experience the wonders of genshin impact's lore for yourself - there's just so much stuff you have no idea about yet, and once you know, i feel like there's gonna be a huge boost of theories! there's just so much events that can be tied together right now (as someone who's done every quest available in game, read every piece of lore from materials, food, furnishing, collectable items and _books_ in this game, it's so mind blowing just how much parallels is possible to point out). the journey is for sure gonna be insane!

About the choices in the end: I think it's possible. They have Star Rail which have a lot of quests with choices that lead to different outcomes (though not in the main storyline yet). Genshin doesn't have that thing but if they test it in the other game they can implement it here, and that would be very cool.

    • @effortlessfury
      @effortlessfury 10 місяців тому +6

Choice and fate both play a significant part in both stories, but each focus on them in different ways. Star Rail has been very obvious about the idea that there are very few deviations from a core path that are possible (given that the SHs are interfering to bring about a specific end goal), but that many little decisions are still yours to make. They may or may not have an impact on you or the other characters, but they won't impact your core path. The philosophical idea being that even if your fate is predetermined there is still value in your choices, no matter how small.
Genshin has also long played with the concept of Fate but has been more coy about why it exists and what that really means. We've gotten little bits that help us piece together some reasonable theories but we've still yet to know for sure. That said, I suspect that there won't be any large scale choice involved in Genshin's story, unless the game will not have a continuation with these characters.

"This is Dain talking so it's also his perspective as well..."
DING DING DING. You will meet him in the story and he's got his own biases. I like to say there are no reliable narrators in Genshin. There's been plenty of things that people were sure/assumed was established fact from things we were told by certain characters only to find out later on that....no....it doesn't actually work like that and either the characters in question didn't have all the information or we were being a little mislead. Not a retcon though, it's obvious Hoyo has planned out where things go for some time (as you can see from this trailer) so the contradictions are not inherently bad. It does drive the lore folks a little crazy though as you might imagine. :)
Okay, just had to get that out. Still watching...

    • @anaplaysstuff

      "cataclysmic events"
"Cataclysm" is a word that keep coming up in the game. Have fun twitching every time you hear it! :)
And yeah, Dain looks super cool. He's supposed to eventually be playable and I will definitely be pulling for him if so.
Regarding whether Dain's "her" is referring to Lumine, there's been looooooots of discussions on that topic over the years. I've seen it get pretty heated. I could see it go either way, either he really is just referring to Lumine (or if you choose her then he'd be referring to Aether and in another universe he'd have used "him") but some people have suggested there is another character we see only shortly in the game could hypothetically be who he is actually referring to. But to be honest, Lumine makes the most sense (but referring to my above comment...sometimes there's what makes sense in the game and what we assume from what we've been told and then we get new information that turns all of that on its head).
"wish upon a star" is not a bad way to put it...since the way you get characters in the gacha is by wishing and the animation they use is shooting stars....
Re: choosing an ending...that would actually be pretty amazeballs since throughout the game basically none of our choices actually matter so getting the biggest one actually mean something would be super cool.
Without a shadow of a doubt I think you will really enjoy digging into the game's lore and there's a LOT to dig into. I haven't even gotten through all the collectible books! But basically everything you collect has at least a little lore snippet behind it, some things basically tell entire stories if you get the whole set of whatever they are.

It's crazy but we are nearing the end of the Teyvet Chapter with to date of 2023 we have 5/8 nations released(9 if you count Celestia City, the floating island of the gods). Every nation has it charms and beauty as I'm sure you noticed.
Monstadt(European, with key German base to it)
    Liyue(China)
Inazuma(Japan & possibly island and coastal asia)
Sumeru(Persian Empire which made up of the entire middle East, bits of india, and some of Egypt, ect.)
Fontaine(Industrial Age Europe and Industrial Age America)
Natlan(Mix of West & East African, South & Central Americas, and one more I can't remember at the top of my head but its heavily tribal influenced)
    Snezhnaya(Russia)
Khaenri'ah(Greek and Norse from what we know so far)

    Anemo and Freedom
    Geo and Contracts
    Electro and Infinity
    Dendro and Wisdom
    Hydro and Justice
    Pyro and War
Meanwhile, Cryo is hinted to represent Love.
    Perhaps even Desire.

Only held together by stubborn loyalty.

I think people overthink it, there's obviously Aether as MC so Lumine should be Abyss sibling. If you switch them, I guess Dain would say "he" instead. Like when in the Chasm quest they changed the story about the flower un Lumine's hair: if MC Aether, he says that he saw this flower in sister's hair and if MC is Lumine, she says that when she woke up this flower already was un her hair (brother put it there)

"the thread of all fate is yours to re-weave" this right here is a very important part. As you mentioned (and are super right about it) that there has been chaos before the traveler came to this world "Theveyt". But why is the traveler asked this to have fate be re-woven? so the question is, where there other travelers before that came? and not succeeded?. We also understand (at least) that this chaos was not a one time thing, it has happened more then ones, in other words, is there a loop? have they been looking for a solution to stop this loop and solve the chaos?...So the big question is who is "they"? and ofcourse there is a lot of illusion and masks at play through the story....but why? in other words someone has created this chaos for a reason and someone wants to stop this chaos, hence the reason for the illusion and the loop....and we are all just pawns in this game(if you knkow about the ghnoses, they are in that form). From what I can gather (and this is just my openion) there are two forces at play here (light and dark, yen and yen, celestial and abyss?) and we are just pieces in this game, one traveller chooses the light the other dark....but what i think will happen is that in the end both the two forces plans will be outwitted by the twins, because the solution is probably in the twins [shadow], and the twins have the same shadow....so it dont matter which twins does what, the solution will be the same and one....this is just my thinking though haha.

Gotta say, I watch a lot of these kind of videos of genshin (cause I love the game), but only your reactions make sense because you watch AND listen to what's happening. Even though you didn't play the game, you grasp what they are trying to tell through these teasers and trailers, it's visible that you're interested and fascinated by the world of Teyvat, which I appreciate a lot. All of the other reactions are just people shouting "WOW IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE" but they don't pay any attention to what's happening, it's obvious that genshin videos bring a lot of views so they don't have to try to make it quality video that actually contributes anything. Travail trailer is my favourite, I'm really happy to hear your actual thoughts on it and not everybody else's "I don't know what's happening but I'm watching it because it brings views". I don't know if you've seen it, but I think it would be interesting if you watched this video, A Summary in Sumeru.
It contains a lot of lore from Genshin's past that doesn't show in the game directly, but mainly in some books that you find in the world and you can read them at any time (but generally no one reads them and just skip it, like almost all sub-quests unfortunately).
And it's cool to be able to see so much lore summarized and presented in a song in a fun way.

24:50 The key point here is the sentence "The hidden corners of the world where the Gods gaze doesn't fall". This means these places are regions without Archons - referring to the destroyed older civilizations. The city in the chasm and enkanomiya have no known survivors but Khaenriah has. It was a nation known as the pinnacle of mankind and probably the first nation to come in contact with The abyssal twin (Lumine, in this case).

Hoyo has stated that both Aether and Lumine are "canon". In fact, Lumine appeared as the "Traveler" we play as in one of the earlier trailers. However, for marketing purposes and in order to not confuse players, they tend to use Aether as the Traveler. In-game cutscenes and web events have both a Lumine and Aether version depending on who you pick, so they seem quite dedicated to keep this.
Now, how would choosing one of the 2 make it less confusing? Well, simply, as you may have noticed in the trailer: The sibling you didn't choose plays a VERY important role in the story. Probably bigger than you think. Now, if we are constantly switching between both of them: How do we know which one is the Traveler and which one is... how do I say this in a spoiler-free way... Missing sibling? You'll get it when you play the "We will be reunited" quest (In fact, a story teaser related to this appeared in the end card. Do not watch it before playing the quest since it is quite spoilery!)
Or maybe I'm biased as a Lumine enjoyer. I'm sorry, she's just too pretty and I prefer her as the Traveler haha!

    Warning: Long Comment
First, a list of clarifications-ish things, going to try to keep as spoiler free and theory friendly as possible. It's not really a "You're wrong about x, it's actually y" as more of a "You've got the right idea about x, y is kinda weird but I won't spoil it, and here's the name of z" but if you still want to skip then I won't stop you.
-You got some of the more general ideas/motifs down.
-Yes, ruins contain secrets. Some ruins are even more important.
-Visions are really, really mysterious. I'm not sure how to tell you whether or not you're right, since the answer is not given directly, you have to dig a little. if you want to know where to look, let me know.
-9:20 Celestia is indeed the name. That's all I'll say.
-Lyney and Lynette: I wanna say something. If you want me to say something, I will. But I remember you replying to someone's comment saying something along the lines of wanting to theorize for yourself, so yeah.
-Do you remember any of the videos you watched mentioning "The Fatui"? The Cryo nation is the Fatui.
Hopefully that didn't spoil too much, apologies if it did.
The main point of this comment is some general notes about the game's experience, since I know you'll be playing it soon. Keep in mind that this is all my opinion.
First up, lore, since it seems you're like me really like lore.
Lore mainly comes from 3 things: Archon Quests, World Quests, and books and artifact/weapon lore.
Archon Quests are the main story. You'll get main plot points and action from this, and most of the general, overall important lore is in these.
World Quests can be anything from helping some lady grow flowers to exploring ancient underground ruins. Some World Quests give lore, others are more normal "side adventure" type quests. The lore you find in World Quests will often give deeper and more specific secrets than in the Archon Quests. Archon Quests have a lot of lore, it's just that World Quests usually are more specific about a certain region (for example, Sumeru Archon Quest has a lot about Irminsul and some about the desert, but World Quests give a lot more info on ancient desert civilization, but not much on Irminsul).
Artifacts and weapons will have lore attached to them (not the flavor text, talking about the stories attached to each one that can be viewed in the Archive menu). Books also have lore, because they're books. (By 'books' I mean the ones available in the Archive. The ones you read during quests are important to that quest) Some stories aren't relevant at all, and may just be a random fairy tale. Others may be really confusing but are actually incredibly symbolic, and won't make sense until we find out what they're symbolic for in future content. Other stories are real history. But you'll most likely have to do some cross referencing between stories to get the full picture. You don't have to immediately start reading as soon as you get these books, artifacts and weapons. The lore isn't exactly critical, you can just play the quests and still have the info. But the stories from these items can help fill in the details, provided you can find the right story. There's a lot of stories.
Onto the quality of the lore. Overall, very good, very interesting in my opinion. And I'm sure many others agree. However, do note that things may be simple and/or vague in the earlier areas compared to later areas. The main area of Mondstadt, aside from Dragonspine doesn't have as many secrets as Sumeru. And the Prologue doesn't have as many plot twists or lore bombs as later Archon Quests. This isn't to say it can't be interesting. My main point is that since it's supposed to be a starting area, you're not gonna get lore blasted or something. It's indeed fun, it's just that later areas are even better. Most quests are really good storytelling wise. Again, it may be simple in the beginning (E.g. Amber's story quest is mainly trying to catch a thief) but later areas are really cool (Raiden Shogun's second story quest reveals a whole bunch and is really emotional). This isn't to say Mondstadt is bad. The Prologue was good, and quests like Venti's and Eula's were really good. While not as impressive, Jean's, Diluc's, and Klee's are also fun. Also, the starting quests still have secrets. Lisa's quest seems basic, but there's one small detail that didn't make sense until something was revealed at the end of the Sumeru Archon Quest. Kaeya's also seems basic, but he has a lot of secrets. Albedo didn't make as go on a grand adventure, but he sure as hell is interesting and has secrets. Mondstadt is a good start, but it's just a start. Main point is, don't quit if you think Mondstadt is boring. It shouldn't be boring, but I'm saying that just in case. that being said, Inazuma Archon Quest was not great, but the Inazuma Character Story Quests and World Quests are really good. Also, Sumeru and Fontaine Archon Quests are REALLY GOOD.
    Next, Gameplay.
The highlight for me is exploration. There's lots of fun puzzles and really cool environments. Fontaine's underwater exploration is really fun.
Combat is good. Not intense, but good. The main issue is not with the combat itself, but character balancing. You have really fun and really good characters. But there are also characters nobody uses. For example, Dehya was done dirty, and her damage is nowhere near as good as Hu Tao. Essetially, there are really good characters, but also bad characters. I think there's more good and decent characters than bad characters.
Character often rely on materials from their region to level up, and since Inzauma is the only region locked behind an Archon Quest, you won't be able to build Inazuma characters until you start the Inazuma Archon Quest.
Artifacts. These things give stat boosts. They have a main stat they enhance, and several other smaller substats. Equipping 2 artifacts of the same set give a small bonus, and 4 artifacts of the same set give a much larger bonus. The main issue is RNG. There are 5 types of artifacts and many different sets. Each artifact domain has a list of sets is might give you. There's usually 2 5-star sets in each domain. But as for which one you'll get, that's random. The stats you get are random. The main stat you get is fairly random. Some artifact types are more associated with a particular type of stat though. The substats are completely random. Leveling up an artifact increases it's main stat, and every 4 levels increases one of its substats. The substat that is leveled up is random. Point is, there's too much randomness. Now, there is a system where you can trade in 3 5-star artifacts of any set for 1 artifact of a set you do want, but the stats and artifact type are still random.
Resin. This is the daily 'energy' you spend to collect challenge rewards. You get things like character, talent and weapon upgrade materials and artifacts. This is the main source of upgrade materials. But you only have 160 resin max to spend. It regenerates over time. Point is, you have to wait to get more rewards.
Now, artifacts and resin sound like bad systems. But Hoyoverse has fixed them a bit in their other game, Honkai Star Rail (increased max resin and main stat selector). so there is hope.
Overall, it's still a good game. For me and others, artifact randomness and resin are just stuff we deal with. They are not dealbreakers. The game is still fun and certainly worth it. Once you start, there should be plenty of content for you to explore, and I'm really excited to see that. I'm just letting you know ahead of time what to expect.
I know much of this sounded critical of the game, but I still really love the game. The music, storytelling and aesthetics are beautiful. The exploration and combat are really fun, and the characters are compelling. There are flaws, but in my opinion, they aren't enough to outweigh the good parts.

You don´t need to read everything, i give a brief summary in the headlines. :P
Start: _Just a funny joke about the final battle in Genshin_
i fear the day when the final battle in Genshin appears and its an 1v1. The traveller vs god knows who. But I do not fear the 1v1...
I fear that the traveller needs to fight with the actual strength - you as a player has given to him over the journey [because he grew almighty and so on] - which in my case is lvl a level 60 traveler, all talents only on level 3 and as an artifact/weapon holder.
Act I: (Being philosophicel about *"What does freedom really mean, when demanded of you by a god." Involving ancient roman philosophers*
"What does freedom really mean, when demanded of you by a god." ~ 10:22
Seneca (a stoic philosopher) once said "No servitude is more shameful than voluntary servitude." [Sorry if there are translation mistakes. English is not my mother tongue]
You said that it doesn´t seem like freedom. I think so too; Accepting a vision to get stronger to defend yourself or against foes. You accepted a gift by a god, and act in his name (kinda). Being a servant. Even if you fulfill goodhearted tasks, a servant is a servant.
True freedom might lead to anarchy (pure chaos as you mentioned) or i would assume the strongest people or oven the strongest person will lead and it will transform into tyrannie.
Cicero (another roman philosopher and lawyer) once said that "We are chained to laws in order to be free." which i just love the symbolism in this sentence. It kinda makes sense to me, but on the other side doesn´t. Which again you can project on the sentence above. You get more freedom, as you can do more with a vision. But are chained to it.
Jumping to act IV: _Things don´t make sense for me_
I don´t really get the lines for Furina (Focalor).
The mask theme you picked up; Mask yourself, be/act different... It would make sense to at the moment available information about certain characters in Fontaine.
Still don´t get it how or what Furina wants to judge the other archons for. As she doesnt seem (at the moment) in the situation to do so. Don´t want to get much further into it. =)
The Theory for Lyney and Lynette is very interesting, tho i disagree. I would definetly say there are characters that try to blend in, know way more then they seem. You get to know that very quickly on certain characters in Fontaine. But yeah, the previous mentioned "mask theme" of yours :D
    20:20 Act V:
I actually think that Natlan will be shaped/designed around Italy/Rome/Spain. Would be nice, since i had latin as a subject which i really enjoyed. :D
    Act VI:
For Tsaritsa/Snehznaya i really like the motive of an "expelled god" - The Harbingers quite like her tho.
Good point. I agree that the Tsaritsa Chapter is going to be very interesting i can imagine.
Khaenri'ah Act/End: _Praising the Dainsleif analysis, not because it might be right but very intersting and my thoughts about the ending of Genshin/Dainsleif._
"Do the gods actually care about anyone else". Very interesting question. ´Gave it some time to think about it. If i need to answer the question and get some flashbacks from dialogues/scenes in. I would lean towards a "no" abit more than yes. I let it be here. Great Question! :)
*Very very interesting* analysis for Dainsleif. As a tip: Try to inspects Dainsleif in game a bit closer when you meet him. You´ll start to ask yourself questions. Also listen carefully. You get short but very precious pieces of knowledge from/with him. After all, he seems like a shadow from the past...
NGL i persoanlly think we don´t fight Dainsleif. Atleast not as an endboss or something similar. That´s my feeling right now. Let´s see how the Dainsleif chapter continues in Fontaine.
I think it would be to straight and to easy for the Genshin Storytelling to frame him as a bad guy and the typical bad guy stuff bad guys do. Especially he doesn´t act like one... Or iam just blind :D
I would say its one ending. the "re-weaving" sounds like a never ending cycle like in Dragons Dogma. Or just a teaser for New game+ xD
    End of comment:
Don´t want to write a book here. Very Very interesting Video. Good thing is, there can´t be really spoilers from the comments your community as we all step in the dark and we also only can speculate and share, agree or disagree with you.
Hope your move is going well and you are too! =)

Here's some very interesting twists we got so far: warning of SPOILERS
Mondstadt - "Freedom when demanded you by a GOD"
Impression - is that this god of freedom is not really ALL freedom, but only the ones he demands.
In game - In the end Venti literally explain to Dvaling (the dragon) that he would NEVER demand dvaling or Boreas (the ice wolf) or any of the guardians to keep guarding the country because that would break their freedom. He as a god is only to help people keep living the lives they want.
Liyue - "Senseless slather as people watch in horror. The will sign the contract to end all contracts
Impression - Someone is going to kill geo archon and in his deathbed he will probably be forced to sign a last contract
In game - Zhongli faked his death so that people of Liyue could take their independence of the gods and signed his last contract as the geo arcon, giving his gnosis.
Inazuma - "Secluded land the arcon seeks eternity, but what do mortals think of their god?"
Impression - the mortals are not that happy with this eternity
In game - Civil war. No actual plot twist here. This one was very clean and dry
Sumeru - "The sages push for folly, but the goddess of wisdom makes no argument against it"
Impression - Sages are doing idiot things and the dendro archon don't care for the people.
In game - Dendro archon literally imprisioned for 500 years and doing her best to actually fix the problems the sages are making EVEN FROM INSIDE the prision. That's how much she actually cares.
Fontaine - "Lives in the spectacle of the courtroom judging even other gods, but not the divine"
Impression - Hydro archon is most high above all other archons and will follow celestia as priority
In game - Here is where we are, and my theory is that this courtroom WILL judge gods. They will judge THE HYDRO GOD. And she will lose.

I don't think they'll do it, since in HI3 they didn't make multiple endings. Mainly because they are still releasing new story after the "finale" (They even called it "Part 1 finale"). Knowing they call the current storyline in Genshin "Teyvat chapter" they'll probably do the same they did in HI3 and GGZ, keep releasing story indefinitely (Both games are still releasing new main story chapters, even when their first storylines are over. I don't know if GGZ had multiple endings tho, but I doubt it)

It's interesting to see which things have likely stayed exactly as planned and which have changed, with the later chapters having the most potential for drift.
That said, it does seem that certain crimes, that were implied and assumed of the Geo archon, at release, may be retconned, because of his popularity, especially relating to his potential paramour. This trailer may have become a relic of the original intentions.
Everything that described him(, outside limited events,) is still in game, but subsequent development almost seems to contradict how his past was initially portrayed and I have to wonder if part of that is the Chinese players deciding that Zhongli is the emblem of China and Mihoyo realising that he was a way to monetise the game for women.
A "husbando" who murdered his community-designated girlfriend raises problems.
So now, at least all the other characters believe, she was killed by someone else, despite all implications in the weapon descriptions.

Dain is not the biggest fan of the gods so you can't take everything he says absolutely
There is no canon traveler, Mihoyo only uses Aether because the two siblins have important roles in the story, so it would be confusing to swap the two, this already happened in the Liyue expansion trailer, they used Lumine, but then they used Aether in version 1.1 and saw that it would get confusing so they continued with Aether

@@Keiki-kun the game had been in development for YEARS before that trailer dropped, that's not even slightly evidence to make a case for your side at all. You have no idea when their designs were conceptualized. Those trailers were also clearly for showcasing the available protagonist options (not to mention that they got Aoi Yuuki to voice Lumine and she's a big name that draws a lot of attention).
A few trailers from it's extremely early days mean absolutely nothing when compared to the complete directional shift to Aether for the entire rest of the game's lifetime thus far. Rabid Lumine fans always throw that exact argument around as if it means anything when all the evidence suggests the opposite at this point.

One point: so far there's no proof that the archons actually pick and choose people, and there's in fact decent evidence against it. This does get done, and it gets done in a way so that the end result does look like they're consciously doing it, and they do have at least a limited control over the process, but it seems more autonomic than deliberate. My own theory is that as the world's last "stable design state" depended on there being far more gods (the basic definition appears to be a being who acts as a self-aware nexus point for elemental energies and directly interacts with human beliefs) than are currently available, the same Celestial system that defined the concept of "archon" has intentionally produced a new class of beings, far less powerful and more leashable than gods, to serve a similar ecological role.
Dainsleif has inherited some strong biases. I would say with cause except that he wasn't quite there to witness some of the events we still know the least about and he's guessing as well, and we've seen somebody with the same cultural bias make some very long-lasting and far-reaching choices based on a gross misinterpretation of evidence. Dainsleif himself has somewhat mellowed over time: while his viewpoint has not really changed, he will no longer outright act based on something he could be wrong about.
