I had a TI99/4A, the speech module, and a tape deck to load user programs. That thing was a decade ahead of it's time but just didn't have the support. Aside from the personal management software, the games were incredible for the day. Parsec fully leveraged the speech synth and spoke, quite clearly, during different events in the game. Incredible. It also had text to speech where it could read text on screen a good decade plus before such a thing was realistic on x86 PCs. Cartridge software or load from tape.

Thanks for sharing memories, that adds to the story a lot. I found Ti99 a good machine in pair with Atari 800 and they rolled it out years before C64. The management behind was the problem. They made two big mistakes. First of all they asked money from developers instead of supporting them. Beside that they started price war while the TI99 was not a chep to make machine.

Atari 800 had graphic co processors (256 colors and could display sprites called "player missiles").The team behind them created the coprocessors for the Amiga afterwards.

Yes, but stay tuned Amiga is coming in the next video.
The whole story how Atari ex-engineers made Amiga and C= engineers Atari ST is very ironic. A little bit it reminds me the engineers' exodus lead to the design of Z80 and 6500. This happens when leadership and owners do not appreciate good people.
