@@powerstar-uf7oh This is what happened to Nickelodeon shows of the 2010s like The Thundermans, Breadwinners, Bella and the Bulldogs and Henry Danger. Even though they are some shows that are horrible (if not the worst of the worst) yet a common level of quality for Nickelodeon, they do end with a bang (yet at the same time, that could probably be a bad thing since it is also Nickelodeon’s excuse to wait until the finales to improve the show to the point where they are at their best... yet when they finally get it right, it’s their other excuse to make sure they are gone for good is to treat it like it wasn’t supposed to be at its peak until the finale which all the buildup is supposed to lead to. I’m sorry, no! That is no excuse! Maybe the shows would have been at their best in the finale, but even then, they deserved to have a frequently good track record even and far before they ended). So like Thundercats Roar! and other Cartoon Network reboots after Thundercats 2011 (except for Wabbit, that is underrated), Fully Charged is a Cartoon Network show that is so bad/one of the worst to the point of being closer to comparable to post-2000s Nickelodeon standards. This would have been no longer the case had it been cancelled a long time after it got good. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have ended like the evil people of Nickelodeon (especially Dan Schneider) with their “They just for kids they no deserve better” attitude. Because while I do think that even after the 2000s, Cartoon Network is a channel I like/respect more than not, sometimes when they make bad shows, they can be memorably awful with how they responded to reasonable negative criticism like Teen Titans Go!, Modern Wacky Races, The Powerpuff Girls (late 2010s) and of course, Poop Mouth With Poop Opinions (aka Thundercats Roar)!
This is *still happening to shows today.* the shit ones like TTG that have no progress stay around but those that actually were pretty decent to really good and new spin are canceled!
It also happened with Sonic Boom. The problem is that making a good show takes time and effort and studios just want to make the most money as possible.
Yeah, that’s the 2010s in a nutshell. Sometimes it gives itself fascinating achievements, and many other times, it has animation so modernist yet very immaturely cheap with beginner blender skills and writing so juvenilely cliched and/or mean-spirited that it makes the 2010s the most dated, yet the most recent decade under a half-century ago.
They made a comic addendum to the show where it's revealed that Dr. Wily is still his old self, the young one was just his nephew or some shit. Also Dr. Light is a war veteran who used to genocide robots, so that's... a thing.
The Megaman Battle Network anime actually really fantastic after the first season, Megaman Nt Warrior Axess/Rockman.EXE Axess gets really great and future seasons gets fantastic with all the characters developing with Stream
Apparently, Mega Man cartoons can only be good if they aren't westernized. The only 3 good ones I know are the multiple NT warrior anime, the OVA (Wish upon a star), and Starforce. None of which were westernized.
He was actually based on Astroboy and was started with the desire to make an Astroboy game, something something couldn't get the rights, something something original the character was born. Astroboy had like underwear and tights too.

VocalCalibration No they didn't. He's not talking about the missing brother part, he's referring to it the Sonichu villain Naitsirhc, which is Christian spelt backwards which is what they did for for megaman's brother in the show.
I actually became quite a fan of this show and hoped for more. It's not perfect and has some misfires, but I like it more than the Ruby Spears cartoon, and it dabbled into some interesting lore regarding transhumanism. Something the games seldom touched on.
In my opinion although Legends is different from the other mega man games, they still kind of stay to the concept of a super fighting robot because you have a robot fused with human kid that fights mechs instead of a goofy random kid like this little shit
@@gokusan4179 on Twitter, I've often compared Aki to a cross between Sonic the Hedgehog and Ben Tennyson. I liked it, because it's a fascinating alternative to the white bread hero he's generally portrayed as. Could've turned down on some of his eye-rolling one liners, however, but that mix of brash cockiness was something he learned from as the series progressed.
When I saw this on the TV, I jokingly said, y'know megaman really went downhill after he stopped getting games, a few minutes later, I realized that this was an actual megaman show, and after I found that out I wished I hadn't.
Ruby Spears wasn't bad for the early 90s though it's nothing more than a meme today, you can't ignore the Upon a Star OVAs. Wish I had those dubbed as a child. Still fun to watch now ^_^
Namagem is a stupid name, but the Dreamwave comics did something better? Rock was “Rocky”- I don’t think that Roll had a different name, but the logical change would be to “Carol”- though Blues, instead of being called “Bruce” was called “Jack” for reasons that baffle myself and others- although it got canceled shortly after he was introduced, so it could have been banter or an alias, with his real name being Bruce. (Rocky, Carol, and Bruce would be good names- if Protoman isn’t some old ancient thing, he should probably be called Breakman, though. Kalinka can be Linka, and I don’t know what Bass (or for that matter, Tempo) would be)
@@BeaACutie154 no, she’s a robot master from the Archie comics- Quake Woman, her creator (Noel Lalinde) erased her personality at some point prior to the start of the comic, later restoring them- she seems to be overly forgiving, considering Noel BASICALLY KILLED HER, which at one point Blues points out (after sneaking into her house to discuss parents and morality) but then she dismisses it? For some reason?
The comic was actually pretty good, even though it feels like they were specifically apologizing for the worse moments of the show. Dr. Wily is back, they change the brother’s name and make him near identical to the Ruby Spears version of Protoman, and hint at future characters.
In terms of premise (a “roboy”, half robot, half human), at least can see why Fully Charged would be made by the same people that gave us Generator Rex. But in terms of quality? NOT SO MUCH.
@@cypher838 Seriously, they should have either stuck with the GR art style, the retro-gaming art style (that looks like an SNES game like Mega Man 7 and X1-X3, which are just a handful of SNES games that make it the best console of all time) the show sometimes does use (that makes its only good moments) or both.
As a Mega Man fan, I don't mind the redesign all that much since Sonic Boom and Pac-Man did the same as you mentioned. I can say that it did try to be like Mega Man, but different. And I will say it's not the worst Mega Man show ever made, if you don't believe me check out Captain N. But I wouldn't say it's the best, there are better shows like Mega Man NT Warrior, the anime adaption of the spinoff series Mega Man Battle Network. If you want an idea, think Digimon and Pokemon fused with Mega Man and you threw Yu Gi Oh in there with multiple Battle Chips to give the NetNavis different weapons and abilities. It went on for multiple series (We got NT Warrior and Axess, but Japan also got Stream, Beast, and Beast+) Each series follows NetNavi MegaMan.EXE and his operator, Lan Hikari. It does stay faithful and each series adapts the games, but does take a few creative liberties such as the introduction of the Synchro Chip in Axess, which allows certain users and their NetNavis to combine in specific dimensional areas that allows Darkloids and Viruses to be physical, allowing Lan to become MegaMan. It's pretty good. I would also much more heavily advise the OVA, Mega Man: Upon a Star, a 3 episode series about Mega Man coming into the real world from his video game world in order to stop Dr. Wily after a kid leaves the game on when he falls asleep, letting the doctor escape since Mega Man is forced to be still due to lack of player input. It's also pretty good, if I had to recommend one of the two, I'd say you might enjoy this one more.
“The best mega man show” Ahem, Megaman NT Warrior lasted twice as long as this show XD Not gonna lie I kind of wish we have a Megaman X animated series, yeah there’s the OVA but it would be soooo cool and not just because It’ll introduce Zero XD
In a perfect world we’d get a mega man X anime that ends with a tie in film about the elf wars and that film would lead into a mega man zero series anime. Also they’d bring back Lucas Gilbertson as zero because he was fucking perfect for him and I’m pretty sure he still does voice acting.

I worked on the European Portuguese dub of this show as a translator and adapter. I was already a pretty big Megaman fan and it was actually a lot of fun. I'm with you on the fact that the show got a lot better as it continued on. The biggest problem with it is it had waaaay too many "whys" in some decision making (seriously, why isn't Breaker just Wily?). Personally I loved Roll in the old show. Sure she's not the best in battles, but she does help morally and she's not a pussy, also she actually does help in some fights. Making a girl character strong just to show female empowerment is just dumb
Roll kicks ass. And I'm here to tell you that female empowerment and strong girl chars was still going strong in 80s-90s shows. Look at shows like Captain Planet, Sailor Moon and Uncanny X-Men. The girls weren't wilting damsels and were pulling their weight evenly.
@@bezoticallyyours83 bruh I already know that, those shows are my childhood I'm just talking about the feminist bullshit that they add to recent movies and tv show, they think just by putting women on a pedestal and makeing guys weaker that would pass as female empowerment, when it's the exact opposite of that. That's called treating them like dumb babies
The show was also made in Canada so the voice cast (by no coincidence) consisted of some familiar people: Edd as Wave Man (who already did voices in the English dub of NT Warrior) Optimus Primal as Dr. Light (who already did voices in the Ruby Spears cartoon including Guts Man) Mega Man as seen in Powered Up also voiced Bert Wily ironically enough Eddy’s Brother voiced directed the series (and also voiced Cut Man in the Ruby Spears cartoon) The great and powerful Trixie also voiced Hypno Woman and Blasto Woman
Apparently, it's the only way to get a good Mega Man show. Only 3 of them were good, 2 if them followed their source material to a T (the 3rd more loose, but still pretty well), and none were westernized.
"It's definitely the best Mega Man show". Oh, hell no. I don't hate Fully Charged (quite the opposite, I thought it was a neat children's action show), but this is a HORRIBLE disserve to Rockman.EXE, especially if you're only familiar with the NT Warrior dub (which got cut after Axess), how we see Lan to grow from merely the operator while MegaMan.EXE does all the work, to a NetSaver alongside Chaud and also combat in the real world when the Dimensional Area and Cross Fusion gets introduced. Or how he becomes an Envoy of Duo in Rockman.EXE Stream. Hell, even Ryuusei no Rockman, which already had everything against it, having less than half the budget Rockman.EXE had, has a lot more going on for it in character charm and action set-pieces than Fully Charged ever did. Hell, I'd argue Ryuusei no Rockman Tribe had a more sensical plot than Mega Man Star Force 2, the game it was based on, so...
I mean exe axess and stream were really good season for Star force I wished the first season of anime was a bit more faithful to the story and the social issue each character had and the second season tribe even though it was rushed was fine (nothing could be worse than what we got for a plot than sf2)
@@Andy-sj4ip I think the worst part is that Star Force 2 had a solid foundation, OOParts are a genuinely interesting topic, the whole concept of lost technology fits Mega Man very well, but the game was horribly rushed, and that shows in the writing... At least the gameplay was good. What about Beast and Beast+ in your opinion, though?
To be fair, NT Warrior had a shit-ton of filler that bogged down the story and pacing. Like the beginning of one of the later seasons sets up some climactic world threat and then Lan and Mega Man just fart about for five episodes before they realize "Oh yeah, there's that plot thing we were supposed to address."
@@hedgehoundable I think that's a symptom of following the games to a fault, after replaying BN, there sure is a lot of meandering and doing whatever plot fetch quests until the next big dungeon (or turning the Internet itself into the dungeon, screw FreezeMan and FlameMan), so I agree. However, I still maintain Rockman.EXE as a whole package is still much more entertaining than Fully Charged.
@@kat_lynx I suppose. If you were to cut out said filler, it'd be way more satisfying. If anything, an adaptation of the manga would be even better. As far as I can tell there's not much if any filler aside from downtime between major arcs.
I initially thought it started out kinda meh, but I was surprised at how much it improved in just one season, it was actually pretty decent by the end. The Wood Man episodes along with the more dramatic ones like Lightfall and the finale were some of my personal favorites.
"The writing gets better" You sure? There was an episode with Drill Man wanting to be a DJ or something so Megaman hypnotized him to just do it but... Drill Man has drills for hands so he can't even record scratch properly which makes Drill Man angry which Mega Man then proceed to beat him up. Definitely improved writing.
@Xavior improves roughly means it becomes better than it used to be. So in the same logic, it did become "good" at some point. But that is still up to debate
This cartoon feel like another cartoon with a Mega Man skin. I can see the meeting when it was being made going like: CN: We want a new cartoon. MoA: We have an idea for one with robots and some junk and a little sidekick in the main character's head. CN: We're giving you the Megaman title to do. MoA: ... Still doing our show anyways.
Those last 2 should have gone like this: CN: Great idea! Let's give you the Mega Man license for it! MoA: NO NO NO NO NO "the show releases" MoA: ...Told you.
this show really got good after it took a few episodes to get settled (like seemingly all shows after 2008), if only people had been more willing to give it a chance.
Honestly the show really started to improve over the later half of the show, the animation and lore had a bit more going for it. I guess it died, that stinks.
I can appreciate the writers saying “What if we made the main villain a completely different character, and *didn’t* try to pretend he’s Dr. Wily?” ...why do I hear boss music?
3:41 Because in Brazil, Roll in the 80’s comic is in love with X and classic Mega Man. She also loses her clothes. Saberspark should make a video of that.
I tell you what the Megaman cartoon I'd love to see, would be something very close to The Day of Sigma OVA. Like if they could make that, and people will watch it.
What amazes me the most is that we had 30 years to perfect the whole "Western Market wants to make cartoon based on Japanese IP" and we still ended up with something so disconnected from the source material. In the 80s we had Super Fighting Manboy, Mega Man, in the 10s we get Megaboy: Punnycharged.
This show grew on me way faster than I actually thought it would. But like everything you mentioned, This would be even better if the characters and story where tweaked. But I never expected to kinda like Mega Man's design.
As someone who loves anything Megaman, I'll be giving this show a watch since I also wanted to watch in back in 2018. Plus reminds of the time Capcom actually let their blue boi out the basement for a bit. Warms my heart every time.
I do recommend seeing it. Personally I think everyone just booted it because it "wasn't Mega Man", which is unfair (and I admit, I was the same back then). I can tell the crew respected the original franchise (even put in some fun easter eggs at times), and the liberties it did take were done relatively well. The only issue I really have is with some of the writing (especially regarding Ice and Cut Man), but overall not a bad watch. Also the comics are good too.
I wanted to watch this when I heard it was a upcoming cartoon Boy I changed my mind real quick when I saw an episode (Also I'm finally early to something. Yey)

It's funny how every time you end up saying something nice about the show, the actual clips make it look the complete opposite and unworthy of any compliments.
It’s still playing on POP how could I forget it? I can’t go a single episode of Counterfeit Cat (seriously underrated show, go watch it) without seeing it advertised or being up next. Never really sat down to watch it tho, I only really go on that channel to see that one show and that’s it
This show has the cast who were the voices from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Ninjago, Johnny Test, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Dragon Tales, and Hero 108. Those are the same cast who were from Vancouver, Canada which is Ocean Productions Inc.
To think that WildBrain would first give us this show and then later on give us _Sonic Prime,_ a significantly more faithful TV adaptation. (And yet, their sprite artists learned from absolutely none of their mistakes with this show's sprite work.)
I know there's PLENTY of people that'll give a reason on why I'm stupid/disagree with me, but I don't think that this show is supposed to be an official 'canon' series for the Mega Man series, but more like that this series is supposed to be a re-imagined concept for kids to enjoy, and not to be taken as canon and a shame for all of CAPCOM. And also, they're not saying that this character is this character forever, it's like saying that Sigma bEcaME Wily so now 21XX iS bAD, for example everyone is mad that Rock is not the FC Mega Man's name, or that Albert Wily is eternally going to be a child from now on, no matter what series. Just my opinion
not going to argue with you in any way that might offend you, but imagine taking your childhood memories, and changing them, by stripping originality and charm from the concept and characters, I love this game and the shows and series that came out of it, but when they take things to far by moving story away, it just becomes something you lose interest in. I still love mega man, but this show has removed most of my love for the bosses such as Airman, which they replaced with a lanky twig-like fan, and wood man as a stick with warms, not even a huge log, as it was in Mega Man 2.
Pretty sure literaly nobody was thinking that. Like Pacman Adventures and Sonic Boom before it, everyone was angry this even existed at all. Because there was literally no need to make all the changes to the characters. Sonic Boom's animated series managed to become popular because the show had quality to it. While this was exactly what everyone expected it to be: a throwaway disaster of shitty designs and messy writing.
Mega Man fans don't like this show because it looks different. Me: Does anyone remember Legends? Battle Network? and Starforce? Those Mega Man series were so different but we loved them.
The difference is (At least on my part) Is that all three of those series are way better executed then this show. Which I don't dislike, it's a pretty decent series. But I think it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea
Apples to Oranges comparison The 3 games tried to do something original, and were executed well. This show is an "adaptation" of a pre-existing story, but disrespects the material it's adapted from more than Captain N.
This show was produced by Man of Action, and it shows. I like to call this diet Ben 10 because it follows the same roles and structures. Mega Man is your Ben 10, a kid with powers and potential, but needing the guidance to overcome rogues. Suna is your Gwen, Dr Light, is your Grandpa Max, and a lot of the episodes are a typical "day out is interrupted by a rogue that the protagonist has to resolve in secret". Also the museum set piece is actually full of Mega Man franchise references in the two episodes it appears in, including the likes of classic, X, Zero, Battle Network, Legends, and even the Ruby Spears cartoon with the infamous Gutsman's Ass meme.
"it's definitely the best Megaman show" Bro I bought the entire Ruby Spears Megaman out of spite when it was announced. I can agree that it's better than people give it credit for but I still would rather rewatch any of the others first.

Ruby spears got a lot of things right about the robot masters but some stuff like the plot and the whacky captain planet look of it kept it from being The best.

@@powerstar-uf7oh This is what happened to Nickelodeon shows of the 2010s like The Thundermans, Breadwinners, Bella and the Bulldogs and Henry Danger.
Even though they are some shows that are horrible (if not the worst of the worst) yet a common level of quality for Nickelodeon, they do end with a bang (yet at the same time, that could probably be a bad thing since
it is also Nickelodeon’s excuse to wait until the finales to improve the show to the point where they are at their best... yet when they finally get it right, it’s their other excuse to make sure they are gone for good is to treat it like it wasn’t supposed to be at its peak until the finale which all the buildup is supposed to lead to.

(And yet, their sprite artists learned from absolutely none of their mistakes with this show's sprite work.)
The last part... Yeah, the pixel scenes of Sonic Prime are pretty bad.
LS Mark: remember that CGI mega man show?
Me: there was a mega man show?
I could see this show continuing on Netflix
I mean, it could get better like "Into The Spiderverse" where it started off like "Okay..... This is meh" to like "Dude.... That was awesome"
They are doing a comic mini series set after the show so at least we're getting something
Mega Man fans don't like this show because it looks different.
Me: Does anyone remember Legends? Battle Network? and Starforce?
Those Mega Man series were so different but we loved them.
And the Mega Mini idea is cool because it happened in battle network, Star Force and ZX.
I'm pretty sure Mega Man fans also hated at some point those sagas too because they were different, sadly
The difference is (At least on my part) Is that all three of those series are way better executed then this show. Which I don't dislike, it's a pretty decent series. But I think it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea
Apples to Oranges comparison
The 3 games tried to do something original, and were executed well. This show is an "adaptation" of a pre-existing story, but disrespects the material it's adapted from more than Captain N.
Ikr.
man wtf, this looks more like a biometal X than the real mega man
Oh god, why is Dr. Light so freaking swole in this show? He's like a old bodybuilder.
Hehehehe anyone here “play” Super Adventure Rockman?
*everybody needs to leave an F for Quick Man in the chat*

The existence of this series makes me wanna vomit
Oh hello you
Oh hello you
oh really? it really makes you wanna vomit?
So just play sonic 2. Perfect solution.
@@YanisP5 "welcome to fact hunt, top 5 shows that make me want to vomit"
sorry.
"it's definitely the best Megaman show"
Bro I bought the entire Ruby Spears Megaman out of spite when it was announced. I can agree that it's better than people give it credit for but I still would rather rewatch any of the others first.
Capcom need to hire fans to make a *real* megaman tv show
no. i hate that people always use the fans as a solution for everything... proffesional writters can do good if not great stuff too...
@@vandyckaldo Yeah, well, they messed up. Got a better idea?
@@vandyckaldo that is how it work if you do something
and it not work
you try something that work
@@vandyckaldo You should only be allowed to write/produce for an established franchise if you are a knowledgable fan of said franchise. Otherwise the end product will be hot garbage.
@@CryosisOfficial the dude who made power rangers samurai was a big fan of super Sentai and it still ended up being garbage. Being a fan helps but being a good writer is what really decides if a show is good or not
