Talofa guy's, I am from an Island called Vava'u it's one of the three main islands in Tonga. In Vava'u there are a lot of Samoan history and place names. There are a lot of family names that are of Samoan origin also. I wonder if there is a direct connection between Vava'u in Samoa and the Vava'u in Tonga. I was searching for my Island and came across your video. Throughly enjoyed your guys video. Beautiful beach/Island, I will definitely put this place on my next 5 places to visit. Malo lava, Ofa atu from Vava'u/NZ
Malo Toko this is my dad’s village in Samoa from my understanding we do have Tongan history in this village as some of the village locals have Tongan ties. There is a rock in the beach that is called papatauilelagi which is understood to be a spot that has Tongan history behind. My family also has Tongan Ties to one of the TuiTongas 10generations back. The Village was quite big an has slowly become smaller due to neighbouring villages marrying in. Iv also heard that the original name of this Village was Savavau. “Sa” in Samoan context is like “extension family”. Hope this helps Tokoua 👌🏽
LOVE Vavau Beach. The village keeps it clean and the fales are well kept. They have a shower to wash the sand off after a long day at the beach as well. My only recommendation is, bring water shoes as there are a lot of rocks, especially at low tide. Definitely worth the drive - pack a lunch!
Thank you JAMily TV! This is my mama's village and the church at 2:54 is on family land (from memory lol). We're celebrating Christmas in Samoa this year -- can't wait!!
I’m so glad to see the girls enjoying the island adventures with their mom and day..something different then typical American Life back here in the state. Joe you and your wife are such amazing parents KEEP me posted with the videos seriously💙🙂
i dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Raymond Cyrus Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you for always making my day by your beautiful videos of the island. Eventhough I've only been to Samoa 3times in my whole life while I was living back home ( Am. Samoa) Seeing all your island life videos just takes me back to my childhood all the time! Keep up the great work and keep them videos coming! Alofas🤙❤
That’s an amazing video the footage of that place is phenomenal. I definitely like to visit there when I come to Samoa. Love y’all videos keep it coming
JAMily TV I think the last time was 2014. It’s been a while. I can’t wait to come back for a visit hopefully in the near future, a lot has changed since I’ve been. I’m a fan and looking forward to many more jamily tv videos to come, thanks for the great content guys 😁❤️
Beautiful spot we first visited the Xmas following 'the' tsunami. The grounds look great, as opposed to the overgrown bush & remnants of the tidal damage. It's also the same beach where Savage also filmed part of a music video.
loving this vlog...my husbands first time in Samoa we stayed at Vavau beach fales 2003 so he is stoked to watch this..our next planned holiday he wants to go there again and Savaii staying at the beach fales lol...thank you x
Rough times lately here in Central Florida. Your vlogs are pure escape for me. Just really enjoying living vicariously through your beautiful family in your incredible home. Such precious memories.
Beautiful view.everywhere,Faafetai lava for sharing.never seen these before, without your sharing we nevr seen these beaut you ful site, even when are traveling on the road.
@@JAMilyTV hey guys I really love your work. It's been 10 years I think since I was last there.. my Uncle got married there and it was a trip to remember! My family run a few businesses there. I'll see if I can hook you guys up and give each other some exposure. But how can I get in touch with you?
Thanks guys!! Much love to you guys. Know we’re late, but congrats on Ty! ❤️❤️ Loved your 2019 rewind. Awesome footage and editing. Sheesh guys!! Need more of that stuff!
The last time I was at Vavau was in 1993 and there was a full-on beach resort there. I stayed overnight in one of the modern beach fale or bungalows which had a shower and kitchenette inside. There was about five or six of them. It doesn't seem to be there anymore which is quite sad. It must've closed down at some point. I remember there were quite a few Germans there at the time.
Yep. Used to be awesome here. And then it all got wiped out during the tsunami in 2009. They’re just now getting fales built after all this time. And just got bathrooms last year. Crazy.
Absolutely love your family time out! So cool to see everybody being active enjoying samoa life and beautiful scenery drive through villages, thank you for sharing Jamily tv!🤙faafetai lava, blessing to the family 💟🌺

Great video. Im from Aleipata but never been to that beautiful beach.Your family should explore Namu'a Island close to Lalomanu. One of my favorite. My good buddy owns the island.
Vavau is my Heritage. The Apple of my Eye I wish I could show you the little village where I was born. It's so lovely there...I used to think it too small to spend a life in, but now I'm so proud of my hometown/home village, Vavau, Lotofaga District in Samoa. The people feel and look the same, like they've settled here even though they know there's something more-something better-just beyond where they are. As usual, my small village is full of those who needed entertainment and whilst money was difficult to earn, the philosophy of giving the people what they wanted is the value of their life. Vavau e, Lou Nuu Pele Tasi. Afifio ai Salevalasi. Alala ai le Tauaeseese male Ali’imau o Faleupolu, Vavau, Even though you not worthy and marginalized, but I salute you for you are the same as Bethlehem, as what is written in the prophets and quoted by The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 2, verse 5-6. “In Bethlehem in Judea,” ........ “for this is what the prophet has written: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’ God Bless Vavau and Many Blessings. Always love watching your contents! Missed the island a lot. Haven’t been back in 5 years since I moved to America from NZ, but enjoy seeing some of the places I haven’t been to while living there even though I grew up in the island my whole life. Would love to see some stuff about my island Savaii. There’s more there to see as well🤙 Btw, we’re currently living in For Worth Texas😀
Wow incredible footage. Just one question do they have public toilets? I can never go to a beach where there's no faleese lol. Never been there b4 so it is in my bucket list now. Thanks for sharing
Yes they do! Alisha edits our videos basically full time. I take care of social media. I also do some contract work for a company back home. And then i am a partner for a company that delivers groceries that have been purchased by Aiga overseas to their local family here in Samoa, Amazon style. It’s called www.iBuyPacific.com
Thanks John. We do rent here in Samoa. We probably shoulda bought land and built. But....no thinking i guess. Idk. It’s easy to find a place to rent. Just join Apia Expats on Facebook. I’m an admin. But lotsa people post rentals and other important stuff for expats. Thanks for the love!
I was lucky enough to stay at vavau beach hotel before the tsunami. The houses were amazing and it's sad to see all of them disappear after that disaster and there were no rocks in the lagoon area.
