It's pretty funny to me that a 30-day vacation is called a "mini-retirement" in this video. Found the American! A 30-day vacation in France is just called "summer". 😂

The other day I was watching the news and they were talking about "silent quitting" and they discussed that what Americans call "silent quitting" is what we call "going to work" in Germany 😂

Average salary in Germany is higher than the US? Average GDP per Capita is higher than in the US ? And we got affordable healthcare for everyone and free education while being one of the safest countries in the world ?

Why did you quit?
When you were mentioning the 30 days I smiled, then you said France, bigger smile, then getting married, super smiled and did not stop.
I then noticed I was genuinely happy for someone I don’t personally know, but admire with all my heart. Congratulations! Greatly deserved!!!

@Mick Slann No it can’t. Love can not be one sided, that is just a ‘liking’, or a reaffirmation of oneself. Love is a transcendence of oneself, freeing oneself from the confines of their own narcissistic, and attaching to some ‘other’. It is recognizing something else as real.

well done man. I've taken the past 2 summers off to spend more time with my kids and during those 2.5/mo completely abstained from work. Both times I've come back stronger than before and surprisingly UA-cam didn't punish my channel at all. It's well worth it man, enjoy your time and we'll all be here when you get back!

I consider you my favourite youtuber. I discovered your videos during my first erasmus 4 years ago and you helped me a lot, you can't even imagine how inspiring you've been for me. Now I'm in my 2nd erasmus and I still watch all your videos and what I like is this sens of familiarity, like you had been a bit like a therapist for me and someone that I know pretty well that I'm happy to see and know how is he doing with is life. This idea of 30 days off resonate a lot with me, it's one of your best ideas. Enjoy every moment and your marriage too. See you in the next video!

It doesn’t sound like doing nothing but the fact that you won’t have to create, edit and upload and only do you for you will be a game changer. After I’ve lived in the USA for so many years I moved back to Brasil and had a hard time excepting that here in Brasil we get 30 days off work to do whatever we want and even better we get paid vacation😂❤ so lovely! Now I hear you! I’m about to take mine, have fun and congrats

I just did something similar, we had our wedding with 10 people in 2020 and finally had all our friends and family together in Turkey and it was incredible!

There's nothing to feel guilty about taking a break, it's really an amazing way to rewind and get refreshed after a long time of work. It is hard to say yes to breaks but it is health rewarding.

When i first read the title i freaked out for a minute. But since that actually might happen one day i just wanted to thank you for changing my life, since i first discover your documentary Minimalism: A documentary about the important things, that then lead me to your channel that ended up inmersing me in this rabbit hole of minimalism.
After a couple of years of decluttering, changing my clothes for "simpler" ones, and some other habits that some people find weird for a 22 year old, i find myself more stable than ever before and even the college thesis am currently doing is about minimalism (in Mexico it's kinda weird this lifestyle).
So that's it, hope you and Nat have a wonderful wedding and eurotrip. Once again thank you and ¡Success!

This might be your most inspirational video (to me) yet!! I have been questioning my career as a public school teacher and until about 2 weeks ago I’ve been so full of stress wondering what on earth I could possibly do instead. I love the children and I am a planner so if I’m going to leave my career it should be for something really big or important or… I should at least know what I’m leaving for right?? But now I feel like I don’t need a plan yet and if I do something else for a while, I can always come back to it. ❤

A lot of those pressures I put on myself. I’m a go, go, go type A individual. I recently started my dream job and told my supervisor I am a “recovering workaholic” who is slowly learning what work life balance means. I’m gradually figuring it out and happier than I’ve been in years. I hope your time off is wonderful and please show yourself some grace.
