    It's called a "DPOCV", Double Pilot Operated Check Valve. Call anytime to discuss things like this Brock.

  • @MJADoingStuff
    @MJADoingStuff 2 роки тому +5

    Morning Brock That Box on the cylinder is called a piloted check valve. It will work exactly like the top link and not bleed back or sag. Fluid can only flow out of the cylinder when you pressurize the cylinder as long as there is no leak. Great Job You fixed it!!!😁👍🚜💨

    Top and tilt is a game changer for grading, scraping, brush hogging etc. Don't know how I worked without it. Ordered mine from agristore USA. All of their top and side links have check valves.

    I set up some hoses for my rear implements that go up to my 3rd function or loader connections so I can still run my hydraulic rear implements without detaching my hydraulic top link. Saves a lot of work and you still get to use top and tilt. I enjoy your videos- keep up the good work!

      Good solution. I have a set of hoses that run front back on my tractor that are always there. Mine were to use the rear hydraulics on the front.
      I could change the fittings on each end of those hoses and have what you’re talking about

    I have a top and side cylinder that will bleed down and is obvious if you leave the box up and engine off the box will start to tilt. May have to add a double pilot operation hydraulic check valve to mine, look like the answer.

    Interesting fix Brock. I don’t see why that won’t solve the bleed down. I wonder if anyone makes a tilt cylinder with the check valve installed like the top link? Seems as though someone should🤷‍♂️. I woulda hung some weight on that side of quick hitch just to see if it settled overnight lol

      I’ve read a lot of online discussions about it and everybody’s having trouble finding tilt cylinders at all. They are all sold out or unavailable
      When I posted the video of buying my tilt cylinder, about 10 people purchased through the link I shared and they have been sold out ever since
      I’m guessing the end result of this video will be that through the comments I find an option that I can share for everybody
      People are telling me to check fit right hydraulics

    Good morning Brock, great video again. I have a few questions about your air compressor if you have a sec to answer them. First are you happy with that brand, second is it very loud in the shop and would you choose anything else if you had to do it again. Once again thank you in advance if you don't have time to answer it I totally understand.

    Brock, do you ever adjust the way your tiller contacts the ground with your top link? I would love to have top’n’tilt but can’t justify the cost. It would sure make tuning my turning plow easier though!

      I do adjust the tiller. Generally I have that hydraulic top link
      I actually think my top link was extended too long when I was tilling in this video making the tiller bounce more and I would’ve adjusted it but I didn’t bring a wrench large enough

    Brock, do you plan to use the John Deere 325G or the John Deere 2038R for the brush cutting? Also, is there any difference when quoting a job using each machine?

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  2 роки тому +2

      I will use the tractor. The skid loader drives slower, cost more to operate, and tears up the ground when you turn
      It could do this job and provide a dust free air condoned van but I would have to change more
      I will use the skid loader for brush cutting off their is material larger than 1” diameter

    How many acres can you cut an hour with that small of a tractor and shredder? I think a minimum of $100 an hour is needed to cover everything. Obviously with a smaller tractor and shredder like yours you may not need quite as much to be profitable but there's other factors involved too, like hauling the equipment to the job and so forth. I know when I'm doing a job like that its goona be a minimum of a $100 an hour but ive got a 130hp tractor and a 15ft mower. I can't haul it so i have to drive it to jobs.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  2 роки тому +1

      Depending on the situation I can do 1.5 to 2 acres per hour. I’ve been charging $50 an acre which means 75 to 100 per hour

    • @jonathanfrecking1210
      @jonathanfrecking1210 2 роки тому

      @@RockhillfarmYT i always charge by the hour because things happen! What if you hit something and your machine is down? Do you tell the client beforehand that if you hit something or there property there are getting charged for the repairs?

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  2 роки тому +1

      If you do this kind of work on a regular basis then you know that sometimes things will break and the cost of repairs is basically factored in and can be spread across all jobs.
      I don’t think that specific customer needs to pay for a flat repair but if you did 100 jobs and had two flat tires then you can think of that cost as being split up.
      I’m no expert and you should do what works for you but most people seem to say you get more profitability in general if you bid by the job
      For example, if you say it is going to cost $600 they might be OK with that but if you say $100 an hour and it could be between four and eight hours they might be less inclined to take that job or to wonder if you’re wasting time

    • @jonathanfrecking1210
      @jonathanfrecking1210 2 роки тому

      @@RockhillfarmYT i agree with you on bidding a job compared to saying $100 an hour. In my case though I'm driving around in 130k worth of equipment, tractor and brush hog. Most people don't have a clue about what equipment cost so if you bid a job at 600 but you have a flat like you just said, you can't finish the job till you're back up and running again. You have to pay fir the repair up front and it would cost you an hour minimum of down time. So who pays for the down time and repair? The customer should because it happened on there property.

    That "box" is the check valve. Your hydraulic guys aren't as good as you give them credit for if they don't know that. Pretty basic hydraulic part. I believe it's required by OSHA if employees operate the equipment.
