He made personal videos to each of those important to him. There’s a podcast from his roommate on dodge woodall where you get the full story. He lived as a gangster and if you ask me, this was the most gangster way he could go out. I’m not a gangster bummer but I can respect this.

Dave had a terminal medical illness. He didn't bow out because he couldn't face growing old mate...
He bowed out because he was in insufferable pain which wasn't going to ever get better. It would only have gotten worse and worse for the man until he died anyway.
      That's not narcissism.
That's a human being facing a human experience and deciding to relieve himself of incurable pain.

When human beings euthanise our beloved pets, we do so safe in the knowledge that we are lovingly releasing them from their pain, and it's accepted as humane by the entirety of society.
When a human being is suffering, however, lots of people baulk at the very idea that they may choose to release _themselves_ of their pain.
It's different in other parts of the world, for instance in Japan, where the act of releasing ones' self from earthly pain is viewed as an honourable way to depart this world, and there is no stigma attached to the final act of a suffering human being there.
Western medical doctrine does support this though, and indeed the medical services follow an oath to preserve life always, even if the person in question is suffering, and consciously wishes to expedite the terminal process quicker. The doctors aren't allowed to cooperate with human euthanasia, and I find that heartbreaking and desperately sad.
Wr all know at least one person who died a horrible death, in pain and suffering horribly, whose passing could have been so much more comfortable for them, albeit at the cost of their consciousness which a lot of families choose not to opt for, understandably reluctant to let go of their loved one.
Euthanasia (i use this term as the alternative description would see this comment deleted by UA-cam censors) is a gift, and dave Courtney did nothing wrong in my eyes.
Even if he had, I'm not in any position to condemn anyone who sough the peace and relief of eternity over continuing to suffer.
I pray for all their souls.

I only met him once and that was at one of his legendary parties a couple of years ago at his gaff.
What a top bloke tho, warm and friendly, made me feel very welcome me being a Mancunian like a fish out of water in the middle of South Londons underworld finest.
One thing I noticed, he had time for everybody and went round the place making sure everyone was alright and having a good time. He was a great host, and the gaff was very impressive, more or less a nightclub built onto the back of his property. Ended up going back to a couple more of his parties but didn't see him around as much at the other do's.

Devastating what mental health is doing to men not just in this country but all over the world.
We really need to talk and support each other lads this world is conditioned to just tell us to man up and get on with it.
It's absolutely crippling to live with and even worse when you feel hopeless and nowhere to turn to life is hard, lads, and we are not being heard atm.
The percentage of men sadly taking there own life is through the roof its really concerning if you are struggling atm speak up if your mate is struggling give him a hug and tell him how much he means to you lads nows not the time for masculinity we really need to address this before it gets really out of hand one life gone to this is too much these figures are extremely alarming and nobody seems to care or acts on it we really need to stick together lads. Another MAN takin too soon may dave Courtney R.I.P ❤😢

I really wanted to meet Dave, he was an English legend as you say and never took too much serious. I often found myself defending hi in YT comment sections to folk just jumping on the hate bandwagon when we should be sticking together.
This somehow seems a noble way out tbh, with the video explaining why. Nothing to be ashamed of.
It takes some balls to do a vid, in a straight frame of mind, not drunk or on drugs and then go on to do the deed. Respect.

Well Dave' I understand your pain. My back was severely messed up in 2005, I have learned how to walk in that time but I've been aware that the chair is just over the horizon. I have always said when I'm done that's it as I can't see life in wheelchair, I am 47 now and it's getting tougher. Some say the cowards way out but it takes balls to finish the final chapter like you have and I admire you for that. I am sure you have everything squared away. I would like to pass on my deepest condolences to your loved ones.
